Tip Tuesday

Three writing tips:

1. Avoid boring stuff. Breeze through it if it must be mentioned. Following that, avoid filler content. If it doesn't pertain to the plot, scrap it, even if it's *whiney voice* "for characterization." Characterization should be a part of the plot. If it's not, outline your plot and have the story arch act in accordance to that. Think of how the natural plot is going to change your character. Every journey is going to permanently affect them in some way, just like it does with real life peop— And I've gone off a tangent here. Sorry.

2. Don't worry if people are going to like your book or not, especially if you haven't written it yet. Write what you like. If you aren't passionate about your project and you're trying to write it for fame/money, people are going to notice because of the way you've written it.

3. For the love of all things good, stick to a single protagonist's POV for at least the first two or three chapters, and then cut into a different character's POV. No one likes being introduced to so many POV characters at once. It's like going to a party with a friend, and they keep dragging you around to meet people without letting you stop to try to get to know them. Would you remember any of them? Probably not.

Three life tips:

1. Don't become a hermit. If you do, it better be only because of things outside of your control, but try to get out of the hermitage as often as you can during that time. *cries in absolute, utter hermit while wanting to stay a hermit*

2. Get an affordable hobby or two. Lots of people don't have an activity that they can regularly enjoy, and it's really sad.

3. Pet a dog or a cat at least every once in a while. It actually helps you and the pet in a beautiful, non-attached symbiotic way.

(I need to follow the first one more, hehe.)
