3rd point of view
After Alex's passing Anastasia meet a guy at her school named Dawson Alexander McBroom. He was there as a friend to Anastasia. They were both shy to talk to each other. One day Dawson went to introduce himself to Anastasia and they both became good well best friends. For a year they've been best friends did everything together. Gerald didn't like it much that a boy was hangout with Anastasia. One night Dawson confesses his feelings for Anastasia. She felt the same way. That night was the first kiss of Anastasia. She was afraid that Gerald would say, react and do something to end the relationship. So they both agreed to keep it as a secret. Dawsons mother knew about the relationship but she had some ground rules. She knew that Anastasia was adopted by Gerald and Yasmin and knew about them and the careers. If they both wanted to hangout together she needs to be there with them, if Anastasia parents or her older sister aren't home he can't go inside the house, basically she's strict about it. So that's the agreement.

One day Anastasia told Yasmin about the relationship. Yasmin was happy for her. She meet Dawson and his mother and was explained by the ground rules. Yasmin agreed with the rules since both Anastasia and dawson were to young.

Yasmin and Gerald were in New York. The drive was quiet. Yasmin hold Gerald's hand since she knew about the whole thing. He was more calmer. They arrived at the restaurant.

They were in a booth. The waiter brought wine to them. "I don't know what to do with Stassie. I know we leave out of town a lot but she can't be doing this."
"Gerald." She touches his hand "I know you care a lot about Stassie ever since Alex passed away two years ago and you gave her your word that you would protect Stassie at all cost but remember she's growing up. She was going to start dating some day."
"And with this boy who we never met before. What if she gets pregnant at a young age?"
"Gerald relax. I already met him. I met him and his mother. She has a lot of ground rules between them which I agree to. And no she won't because that's not what's going to happen."
"Why didn't she tell me?"
"She's scared of how you were going to react. She thinks that you will force her to break up with him, you would kill him or do something that would break her heart. He helped her heal after Alex passed away. You and him helped her heal but they both catch feelings for each other it's normal just like me and you."
"Baby im just scared if he breaks her heart. I don't want her to be sad like she was before."
"I understand what you're saying that's part of growing up. Why don't you want to meet the kid? Get to know him the real him that your daughter fell in love with."
"Can I scare him? A little bit?" He tries to convince her "it would be funny."
"No." She laughs.
"Okay fine. I will meet the kid and give him a chance but the moment he hurts Stassie, he's going to listen to me." Gerald went overprotective with Ayla and Anastasia since they hit there teen age lives.

Back in LA, Ayla met dawson. She was was surprised that he is a gentleman to Anastasia. Ayla met with Dawson's mother and was explained with the ground rules. She also agreed to it.

Yasmin and Gerald came back from New York. Gerald didn't say anything to the girls. Anastasia was in her room doing homework while listening to music and Ayla was in her room on her computer dealing with her business. "The house seems quiet." Gerald said "do you think the girls are home?" They arrived to the house already inside.
"They would. It's still a school day for Stassie and you know how crazy busy Ayla is with her business."
"Imma go talk with Stassie."
"Remember what we talked about." Yasmin told him. That's where Gerald took a deep breath.

Gerald went upstairs to Anastasia's room. She was in her desk doing her homework. Gerald knocks the door "can I come in?" As the door was open and Anastasia looks at him "doing homework I see."
"Hey dad, come in." Anastasia said nervously when he seen him "you..you came back from New York?"
"Yeah I did." He walks in "so I came here to talk to you about something. The elephant in the room." He sits down in the bed next to the desk as Anastasia was sitting on. "Tell me about your boyfriend dawson. I'm here to listen to you."
"Dawson and I met at school. He was my only friend after mom passed away. Umm we hangout a lot but his mom was there all the time especially now since we're dating. We were best friends that did everything as friends. But he catch feelings for me and I catch feelings for him because we hanged out a lot. Remember that one night I told you that Ayla and I were going shopping."
"Yeah I do." He gets the stuffed animal from her bed. He smiled at the teddy bear "Ayla told me that you guys wanted to have sister time together since you guys barely have time for each other."
"It was actually because he asked me out well it was like a hangout at that time. That's where he told me the truth. And he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. I gave him my first kiss." That one killed Gerald but he kept it cool "his mom know and she has some ground rules towards us. If we wanna hang out she has to be there present. He can't be in the house when you, Yasmin or Ayla aren't here. And other things but we agreed to be together in this relationship. Sorry dad."
"Stassie, I remember you when you were just a baby, the night of the accident. I held you in my arms I knew you had the kindness of your father. I promised your mom and father I would protect you at all cost and I don't know if I'm doing a good job at it. When I found out in Instagram it broke me how you have a boyfriend behind my back and how you didn't tell me. Yasmin told me why. Yes I'm like that because I don't want no guy to break your heart at all. I don't want no one to hurt you or your sister Ayla. I understand that you're growing up. This means I will give him a chance if he agrees to meet me in person. And I'll talk to his mom about the agreement with the ground rules. I'm doing this for you so you don't do the same mistakes as me and your mother did. Okay." She gets up from the chair and hugs Gerald "I love you Stassie."
"I love you to dad." Gerald hugs her "thank you for understanding me."

Gerald agreed to meet up Dawson by himself. Just him and himself. He was nervous to meet him. he sees a kid the same way as Anastasia described him. "Are you Mr Gillum?" Gerald gets up. Dawson tall, white respectful young man, his black hair curled on top and his sides were shaved off perfectly as a man. He had a modern outfit as a young man. "Its finally great to meet you sir, Stassie has been talking about you." He gives his hand out and Gerald shakes it "not to bring this in a bad note but I'm a fan of your music."
"So you're with Stassie because of my music? That's why you're with her?"
"No, no sir." Gerald was messing around with him but he liked when dawson called him a sir "I actually do love her. Sir I've been with her since the passing of her mother and her father. What truly inspired me is that you adopted her to your life. When she moved here from Australia and was alone as the new girl at the lunch cafeteria I truly wanted to be friends with her but we were to shy."
"Yeah I know it was a hard time for her. And this is a side of me of thanking you for helping my daughter Stassie. I'm here to actually know if you're the right guy for her. Are you going to hurt her? Will you cheat on her?"
"Sir when I met and been with your daughter Stassie for a long time and I did feel the love that I have for Stassie. I'm not the kid of guy that would use her, talk with other girls, break her heart because I had that same experience." Dawson opened up from his past "I met this girl before Stassie. I did feel deeply in love with this girl she used me, cheated on me with her ex boyfriend, told many lies to me over and over again and it hurt me. I told myself I wasn't going to find that girl of my dreams until I met Stassie. She made me change of how I seen in relationship."
"Here's the thing Dawson, I fucked up. I hurt the girl."
"Your wife sir. You seem so happily with her. That's how I hope to be with Stassie."
"No before my wife. I met the mother of Stassie when she was in school and I you know with my music. I did the same thing as the girl who hurt you. All of it. I lost her for good. After her passing I understand how much I hurt her a lot and the pain she had. I just don't want that for Stassie."
"And that won't happen. Look I deeply love your daughter Stassie. I won't let anyone hurt her."
"Alright. But the second I hear you hurt her, lie to her, cheat on her, you don't know who are you messing with."
"Yes sir. I do understand. My mom is here if you wanna talk to her."
"Okay." Dawson was about to get up "hold up. Where are you going?"
"I thought this was it. So I was heading out to get my mom here."
"No, no, no. I invite you to talk and hangout to get to know you meaning it's my treat to buy you anything to eat."
"You sure sir."
"Yes dawson because I believe that you will be there for my daughter." He stays there with Gerald "do you drink?"
"No sir. My mother is a social worker and my father is a police officer and both are strict with me."
"Oh good to know but do you slip a drink sometime to time?"
"No sir I don't. In my house we don't own any of that."
"Do you smoke weed, electric cigarettes, tabaco?"
"No sir. My father does a drug test on me weekly. And he wanted to know if it's okay if Stassie does those test."
"Yeah it's cool but my daughter don't do any of that especially Stassie but it's good to know. You're a good kid and maybe I should give my blessing to you and Stassie to continue with this relationship. I'm going to have to talk with your mom first about these ground rules."
"Sure sir."
"And that's cool you have the respect, I like that's from you dawson."
"Thank you sir." Gerald and dawson stayed there talked and hangout for a good hour.

Gerald talked with Dawson's mother about the ground rules and the agreement. They both agreed in everything and they would want to keep it that way until both are eighteen.

Gerald came back home. Anastasia was asleep and Yasmin was waiting for him in the living room. "So how was it?"
"It was fine. I really do like the kid. He does have the respect for others. I really got to know him."
"That's good." He sits in the couch. Yasmin went to the couch. She lays down on Gerald "Stassie was worried. So worried."
He stroked Yasmins hair "I'll go see her right now. I talked with his mom about the ground rules. Which a I liked it because it's more strict not on Dawson but also Stassie. And b we can know a lot about them. Before we left our separate ways I gave him my blessing to be with Stassie but I'll still have my eye on him."
"You're cute." Yasmin laughed "Stassie will be happy. I was thinking since you became so fatherly why don't we try to have our baby like our first baby?"
"Yeah I was going to mention it but since we're both so busy with our careers. Why don't we try the upcoming year?"
"Sounds like a plan. Girls seems to be easy."
"What are you trying to say? You know I'm on there ass at the moment. Ayla I'm not to worried because her business but Stassie is the one we have to be worrying." They both laugh "speaking of her imma go talk to her and I'll meet you in bed." Yasmin gets up from his lap and he gets up. He kisses her then Yasmin leaves to the room.

Gerald walks in to Anastasia room. She was asleep. He quietly walked in. He sees that the blanket wasn't covering her. He covers her. She moves a little to get comfortable. "It's okay Stassie." Anastasia wakes up "get some sleep. It's late for you to be up."
"Dad it's Friday. Basically I'm sleeping early on the weekend. Homework is stressing me out."
"It's fine Stassie you want me to help you with the leftover homework tomorrow."
"Yea. Can dawson come over to help out since we basically have some classes together."
"Yea. Speaking of him, it was good. He's a good kid. I talked with his moms and if you both follow these ground rules it's cool with the relationship. Just remember you're my little girl. Just like Ayla."
"I know that dad."
"Get some rest okay." He covers her as she was getting comfortable "good night." She was falling asleep. He sees a photo of Alex in the night stand. He gets the photo and looks at it "if you were still here you would've been proud of the girls Alex. We miss you." He leaves the photo back in the night stand.

Now he understands how much pain he cause to Alex and wishes he didn't done that to her in the past. Everything would've been different for them.
