"What have Lyla and you done this morning to keep you busy, you were so quiet?"  Mom asked me while she made the marinade for the meat and I'm peeling the potatoes for the potato salad.

"We did our biology assignments, Lyla finds it much easier to work from my notes and together we could improve on it, it made it much easier than doing it alone."

"I'm glad you could help each other and Inola I'm so proud of you for being so positive about your studies."

"It helps to have a friend that takes her studies seriously.  I'm looking forward to the barbeque this afternoon, what time will they arrive?"

"We invited them for three o'clock and dad is planning to start with the barbeque at four, why?"

"It will give me enough time to take a shower and get dressed before they arrive."

"Seems as if you are looking forward to meeting Lyla's brother, he is bringing his girlfriend too."

"Oh, that will be fun, I think James and Beth will like that,"  I said quickly to hide my surprise, I can't deny it that I was wondering how Lyla's brother would look like.  Luckily my best friend will be here and I'm planning to have some fun with her.

"Hey, Lyla," I welcomed my best friend when I opened the door.

"Hi, please meet my adoring brother and his adoring girlfriend, Theo and Kim," she smiled and motioned with her head towards a tall blond boy, who gave me a pleasant smile and nodded his head.  I could clearly see the similarities in brother and sister, they could have been twins with their beautiful soulfully brown eyes.

Kim uttered a shy: "Please to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, let me lead the way,"  I said with a cheerful smile and wheel myself to the lounge where Beth and James were waiting.

"Hi, guys let me introduce you to Lyla's adoring brother and girlfriend Theo and Kim, and here are her mom and dad too.  These are my brother James and his wife Beth, I hope you all enjoy the afternoon and have some fun," I said, surprising myself with my own boldness.

"Pleased to meet you too,"  Beth smiled at them after James and Lyla's family exchanged their greetings.  "I understand you're studying engineering Theo?" she smiled as he nodded to confirm.  "Do you think there is a way to improve the old ordinary wheelchair to make it easier for people that use laptops for studying, what I mean is that even if they sit at a table in a wheelchair, there is still a lot of strain on their backs?"

"I'm not sure how to do it, but I'm positive it could be done,"  He said with that adorable smile and focused his brown eyes on me.  Suddenly all eyes were on me.  "Would you mind if I have a look at your wheelchair Inola?"

"No,"  I said wheeling myself to the empty chair next to Lyla and moved over into the chair, I felt a big hand supporting me and I looked up to meet his beautiful eyes as he said:  "Let me help you."  I felt the blood rushing to my face and a strange sensation filling my veins while I'm staring at him inspecting my old wheelchair with such interest.

"Somebody might have done it already, but I think I'm going to make it my next project, it can't be too difficult."

"It can make a big difference for a lot of my pupils, most of them suffer already all sorts of pain, it will be a great improvement if we can rule out back pain."

 "I suppose it should be able to extend for different sizes, thank you for the suggestion, you certainly gave me something to work on," he smiled.  I had to pinch myself not to stare. 

The afternoon was special and the food delicious but the time went by too quickly and everybody agreed that we should do it more often.
