Chapter 1
A woman ran through the rain, running through the dark trees. Thunder roared overhead and the ground shook, the woman wincing at the dead of night. She lifted her bright purple eyes and ran through the falling drops of water and muddy puddles on the wet ground. It was in the dead of night, pitch black and the only light is provided by the moon and very few lanterns. The woman stopped, looking at the border while she waited, clutching two lumps to her clothed breast. In the distance, a tall, black figure walked towards the border, red hair flashing in the small light given. "Khadijah, Is that you?" The figure spoke.
"Yes, it is." The woman named Khadijah spoke out, shivering in the rain as it fell onto her pale body. The male walked over to the border, taking off his jacket and placing it on her shoulder, taking his finger and moving a strand of her blue hair behind her ear.
"Take good care of her, Mathias."
"I will, same to you," Mathias replied, smiling at the woman across from him. Khadijah reached into her jacket, pulling it out and placing it into Mathias' open arms. A small baby face poked out of the fabric and let out a tiny yawn, falling back asleep.
"Be safe, Okay, Khadijah? I don't want to lose you." Mathias swiftly spoke, softly stroking her cheek. In the next moment, their lips clashed together and lightning lit the whole sky while thunder loudly crashed.
A great sin has been broken....
"Xael! Get up!" A voice called, the sound of metal clashing together. A girl sleepily opened her eyes, a bright light shining in her purple eyes. Xael sat up in her bed, rubbing her eyes and climbing out of her thin bed. The blue headed girl pushed the curtain out of her way and went to the kitchen, sitting down. Her mother, who was in the middle of making breakfast, turned around and smiled at her daughter before going back to cooking their food.
"Hey Mom, Where's Babette?" Xael asked, pushing her Zaffre* colored hair out of her face.
"She's still asleep, she should be awake in a while." Her mother replied, blowing out the fire inside the stove. Xael nodded, yawning a bit before looking back at the wobbling person who walked inside the room.
"Hey Xael, Khadijah." Babette yawned, sitting next to Xael. Khadijah placed a full plate of food in front of them, sitting across of them at the round table. The 3 women at the table were quiet at the table, not speaking a word as they ate. After around a few minutes, Xael got up from her seat and plate on the gravel counter, leaving the room and going back to her own room. The blue headed girl sat on her small bed and wrapped herself in her blankets, slowly warming herself from the winter's cold, harsh weather. Xael looked up at the uniform hanging on the wall, turning around and falling back asleep.

A red headed girl got up from the snowy porch and went inside, seeing no one in sight. Her Father wasn't in the kitchen and a stubby child wasn't waddling around the house. "Dad?" She called out, peeking into her father's room. He sat on his bed and read an old, crumpled letter and tears softly falling from his brown eyes. He quickly spun around and sighed a bit, relieved that it wasn't someone else besides his daughter.
"Dad, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," He answered, putting the letter into his drawer and getting up from his bed. "Go wake up Cairistona for me, will you Genevieve?"
"Yeah," Genevieve replied leaving and going to the little girl's room, softly shaking the little child. Her crimson eyes fluttered open and she sat up, softly rubbing her eyes. Two girls walked into the kitchen, sitting down and starting to eat their food.
"Did you hear the news, Genevieve?" Her father asked, breaking the silence.
"No, what news?"
"You got recruited for the army."
"Really?!" She choked out, her heart stopping and a smile coming to her face. Her father nodded and handed her a letter from the army, her name in big, fancy letters on the front. Genevieve ripped the letter open and the smile grew once she read the letter.
"Congrats, Genevi!" Cairstiona yelled, her small lips forming a smile at the older girl.
"They should be sending in your uniform in sometime today." He explained to his excited daughter across the table, smiling at her. The rest of the time, they talked about random things, keeping them kid appropriate for Cairistiona.
"Bye, Mathi!" The little girl called, waving after Genevieve father. Mathias waved back to the little girl and left the house, going into town. Genevieve stood at the mirror and held the uniform to her and spun around. She hung it on her wall and looked around for the little girl.
"Cairistiona!" She called looking for the little girl. She popped up from under the table, inviting the older girl to her 'secret fort'

Mathias walked up to the border seeing a blue headed woman on the blue side. They approached each other, both hidden by the trees in the high noon sun. Mathias reached the border and held his lovers' hands, smiling at her. "How is Genevieve?" Khadijah asked, her blue eyes meeting Mathias'.
"She's doing fine, what about Xael?"
Khadijah sighed smiling at the ground. "She's becoming a little anti-social, but I guess that she became like that once she realized that she's missing family."
"Did Xael get recruited also?"
"Yeah, her uniform is hanging on the wall. I'm guessing that Genevieve also got recruited?" Khadijah asked, smiling at Mathias. He nodded and smiled at her, leaning in and softly kissing her head, parting their own ways and going back home. When Khadijah got home that night, she looked into her daughter's room and looked at her, letting the tears run down her cheeks before going to her own and falling asleep.
