I Had to Go Pet It

I know I'm doing a lot of Kabbi, but I can't find any other oneshot scenarios on the internet. It's all OTP... So I'm doing my OTP... XD

Kai, Chase, and Abby had been sent to the middle of down to do some "emergency shopping", as Falte had put it. Which meant that they were out of a certain food that Falte needed for dinner, so he'd sent the three most responsible people - that was sarcasm directed towards Chase, who could be such a child sometimes - to get the groceries.

And on top of that, Kai didn't like shopping. Not because it was a "girl thing", but because he didn't like having to go up to strangers and talk to them. He wasn't a socially bubbly person, like Abby was, which made him grateful she was here. She could do all the talking, while Chase just made the cashier think they were all idiots and embarrassed the crap out of Kai.

And on top of that, Abby had disappeared in the middle of the large store and they couldn't find her. She could have gone a number of ways, and Chase and Kai could easily get lost too if they were to split up.

So they were marching through the store together, calling for Abby as discreetly as they could to not attract unwanted attention. At least, Kai was trying to do that. Chase was being a total idiot, like normal, swinging around the corners of aisles and nearly running into people while loudly calling his sister's name.

"WILL YOU JUST BE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING?" Kai finally yelped at Chase, who had just apologized to a flustered mother who's kid had nearly been ran over by Chase.

"You know just as well as I that that isn't possible," Chase argued with a sly smirk.

"Oh my gosh."

"Anyway, where the heck could she have gone?" Chase asked, peering around another aisle, confirming Abby wasn't there, and continuing walking. "And has she gone deaf? We've been screaming her name for fifteen minutes."

"You," Kai corrected, pointing an accusing finger at Chase. "YOU have been screaming her name for fifteen minutes."

"Still, she has to have heard us by now," Chase said with a shrug.

"Oh, hi guys," Abby's voice said in front of them. "There you are."

They both turned to find Abby standing leisurely in front of them with a smile on her face. She looked unconcerned that the boys had been searching for her for almost twenty minutes.

"THERE WE ARE?" Kai repeated in dumbfounded exasperation. "THERE YOU ARE! Where have you been, Abby? You scared us half to death!"

"Him," Chase corrected, jerking a thumb at Kai. "You scared him."

"There was a dog," Abby said, blinking innocently at the boys. "I had to go pet it."

Kai stared at her without words for a minute. "So you decided to up and leave without saying anything to either of us, leaving me thinking someone had freaking kidnapped you because you weren't responding to your idiot brother screeching your name like he was dying, to go pet a dog?"

Abby smiled nervously at him, clasping her hands in front of her. "I ... might have done that?"

Kai sighed and put his hand on his forehead, but he couldn't stop the smile that crept onto his face. He shook his head in wonder, lifting his head and grabbing his girlfriend's hand to pull her near him.

"I love you," he said blatantly, resting his chin on her head, inclining his tone to where he said it like a fact.

"I know," Abby answered cheerfully. "I love you too, but I love dogs as well."
