Tears of Light

Link's P.O.V.

I dashed through the Faron Woods destroying any dark insects I could find with Midna still seated atop of me.

"We're almost done, wolf," she said as she kicked my sides. "Just a few more and we'll be close to reviving the light spirit."

I nodded as I continued to run near the end of the forest. I searched for the bug when I heard Midna grunt in irritation.

"What the?" she said as she scanned the area, "my senses tell me that there should be a bug here but I don't see one." She jumped off my back and floated in the air roaming the area.

"Hey, wolf, use those senses of yours and see what you can find."

I did as she said and used these new found wolf senses. I found these patches of dirt that indicated that there were rupees hidden but still no sign of any dark insect. I continued looking around when something caught my eye.

Deep within the bushes, I saw a glimpse of something golden. I averted my gaze back to get a better look only to see that it was gone.

"Perhaps it was just my imagination?"

In the place where I thought I saw something golden, was the shining blue tear of light. Odd.

"I see you found it," Midna said as she returned to sit on my back. "Good job, wolf, now let's hurry and find the rest."

I was down to the last tear of light. And I must say, this one was difficult to find. I kept running back and forth trying to find it since it seemed to continue moving around.

"Why in the world does this thing keep moving? Run faster, wolf!" Midna said in frustration.

Midna was lucky that I couldn't speak or she would be getting a mouthful from me. I'm usually not one to get impatient with others, but this Midna character was something else.

I finally reached some unknown spring that I never found back when I was in human form. Midna could feel that the tear was somewhere in this area.

"Come out you stupid insect," Midna growled, "We've already wasted too much time trying to find you."

"I really don't think you should be calling me an insect, little imp," said a mysterious voice. It sounded female.

A large impact and splash was felt on the ground. I turned around to meet a bluish-white coated wolf. The wolf's coat shone brightly and matched the tear of light that it wore on its neck. Wait...this wolf was the one who was making me run all over the place, not an insect. My gaze met the wolf's gaze and I realized that the glimpse of the golden color I saw earlier were the eyes of this wolf. This wolf was somewhat smaller in size compared to me and her tail and coat were rich with multiple layers of fur.

"Oh, look," Midna mocked, "A wolf that can actually speak. Before we take that tear from your precious little neck, who are you?"

The wolf simply spoke, "My name is (Y/N). Alpha of the Elina wolf pack."
