Death is Only the Beginning
Summary:
"Wake up and smell the roses." My mother would tell me.
"Why should I?" I'd respond, "Those roses have hidden thorns."
After those conversations, waking up in a rose bush was probably the last thing Jack Spartan had in mind. Despite this he picks himself up and walks into the truely unknown. A world he has never heard of.
Welcome to Kaisisk, the world of wonders and magik.
Information about Death is only the Beginning:
Creatures:
Ardraks - Humanoid creature with similar features to crocodiles. Commonly have long, sharp teeth and scales on their shoulders, back, shins, and tail. They have webbing between their three fingers and thumb and between their toes. Despite their ferocious appearance, their facial features are normally quite attractive, even with their sharp teeth. Some even use their looks as a ways of hunting. Have human-like intelligence. Is known as a Pure-blood due to the fact it keeps its heritage in its territory. Lives for 600 Derl at best.
Babaliskas - Predatory birds with talons longer than a man's forearm. All males have three bright red feathers adorning the tops of their heads while the rest of their bodies are black. They tend to snatch a man off the back of his horse. This gives them the nickname The Third Death. The females have raven blue down and razor-sharp teeth in their beak. Males do not have teeth. All Babaliskas have green eyes. All that see it die. Lives for 450 Derl at best.
Caeles - The gods. Including, but not limited to:
Major Gods (Respective Aura): Night Goddess, Day God, Hiems (Winter) Goddess, Anoixi (Spring) God, Aestas (Summer) Goddess, Otono (Autumn) God, etc.
Middle Gods (Silver Aura): Ice God, Water Goddess, Earth God, Fire Goddess, Air God, etc.
Mediocre Gods (White Aura): Thunder Goddess, Lightning God, Rain Goddess, Iron God, Tree Goddess, etc.
Powers vary depending on god. If Major gods are like the sky, then Mediocre gods are the dirt on the ground. Lives for (assumption) 10,000,000 Derl.
Daskanas - Creature with Elven ears, however, do not confuse the two, for Daskanas are far more dangerous. Daskanas have a darker skin tone, while Elves are fairer. Daskanas use music as their primary source of magik, but also have a secondary elemental magik. Including, but not limited to: Water, air, fire, earth, darkness, light, and possibly more. Not much is known about these creatures. Lives for unknown amount of Derl (Assumed: 7000 Derl.)
Depennatus - Winged creatures. These creatures have no feathery down or thin membrane to keep them afloat. Instead, they have bones and invisible muscles. Thus they reach their coming-of-age (100 Derl) they go hunting for the first time. Every pelt of the prey they kill is coated onto their wings, so no Depennatus wing is ever the same, not even on the same creature. This gives their wings a patched look. There is a myth about Depennatus wings, that the older the Depennatus is, the more the pelts meld into actual wings. Lives for (assumed) 1,000,000 Derl.
Elves - Like Daskanas and Orientali, these creatures have Elven ears, however, do not confuse the two, for Daskanas are far more dangerous. Daskanas have a darker skin tone, while Elves are fairer. Elves have a deep connection with nature, and those that harm their forests are hunted down for the rest of their lives. Lives for 7000 Derl at best.
Elain - Guardians of animals. Share some mammal features; feline, canine, prey, etc.
Filiidei - Children of Gods. These creatures have not yet earned their god title, thus they're not Immortal. However, due to being the offspring of gods, they are also not Mortal. They are Taliumet, a state between Mortal and Immortal. Many will have some of the powers of their parents., but as they reach 1500 Derl, they begin to discover their own powers. A Filiidei that never achieves Caeles Rank, will live to 725,000 Derl. Any Filiidei that reaches Caeles Rank gains a Caeles' Aura and will live until (assumed) 10,000,000 Derl.
Humans - Distant relative of Elves, however they hold no care for anything in Kaisisk but for themselves. Very innovative. High intelligence, but many humans use this for doing bad things, to both the world and other species.
Malispiriti - Spirits that reside in Helvete (Hell).
Orientali - Like Elves, they are guardians of plant life (do not have Elven ears). However, these creatures can only be found in meadows. Were nearly wiped out in the Tri-Tops War.
Volare - Have leaves and vines as wings. Said if a Volare's wings brush over you, plants will protect you for 26 Derl.

I watched the red seep into my shirt, internally screaming at the extreme pain I felt. I heard laughter and I flushed from embarrassment. My lunch splayed hazardously across the cafeteria floor, I stumbled away from the scene, brown footprints following. The janitor probably wasn't my biggest fan right now.
I watched my sister giggle as a boy in her grade nervously presented her with a single red rose. I liked him, but my opinion matters not to her, I am her father's illegitimate b@st@rd.
I passed by in the hall no one sparing me anything, not even a glance. I've mastered the art of blending into the background. Just like the staff of old (and new if you really think about it).
I entered the men's bathroom to wash the tomato soup off my shirt. I received more laughs and even some disgusted looks or sneers as I took off the shirt and revealed a slight pot belly. The bathroom was deserted by the time I left.
Science class was a bore and we had workout unit in physical Ed. I payed attention in Spanish only because my mother was Hispanic and I wanted to be able to communicate with her in... dire situations.
As I stared at the scene around me I flinched. You could call this dire.
"Mama, lo siento."
We never actually took anything for granted. I guess we always thought it would be there. I wish I knew that before.

I watched the red seep into my shirt, internally screaming at the extreme pain I felt. The man in white, with decorative white wings streaked with what I hoped was red paint, smirked sinisterly. Seeing my dilemma, I knew it wasn't the case.
I shed tears. Not for myself but for the mama who birthed me. I knew she watched the news, and I knew the shooting at my school would be broadcasted across the States. I knew my mother (really my step-mother) would grin as she finally pushed my mama over the cliff. Me being the shove that threw her.
