"Well, that went well... NOT", Missy muttered to herself as the door of Rose Tyler's cottage slammed in her face. She did everything to plan, she said her name was Missy Saxon and that she knew the Doctor. But then the husband turned up and everything started to go downhill. "You did nothing wrong Miss. He was hot... and that was his fault. It is just a reaction that made you flirt". And flirt she did. So much so Missy had completely forgotten what she was going to say and got kicked out when she tried to ask him on a date.

She quickly reset her vortex manipulator to the next address on her list: Chiswick. Missy was silently hoping that this one would help her just because she had persuaded no one so far. Martha Jones had already heard about her 'little problem' as she had said in her message, and promptly said no. Probably down to the fact that Missy had almost killed her family. Emphasis on the ALMOST. And as for Miss Tyler, Missy could only assume that she wouldn't help. There was only Donna Noble and River Song left on her list. "Right, enough doubting, more teleporting". And with a flash, she was there. In front of another door. Her first instinct was to either disintergrate it or knock it down, but then common sense (well, ish) kicked in and she gently tapped it. A woman wearing a blue floral top with black jeans answered it immediately. Her hair was wrapped in a towering white towel, but pieces of red hair spiralled down from it.

"What'd you want?" she asked.

"Hello, I'm Missy. I believe you are a friend of the Doctor's".

"What Doctor?", she replied with the most 'can't be bothered' face Missy had ever seen. "Look, look, if this is a scheme, a ploy, dreamt up by my mother to get me to get life insurance, then leg it".

"The Doctor. You know, time travelling alien. The blue box that's bigger on the inside".

"Right, I knew you were crazy from that", she said looking Missy up and down. "Ensemble. But now it's getting worrying. Maybe you need a Doctor, love".

"O-kay. Um, so no knowledge of aliens, or blue boxes, or Doctors".

"No, love. So tot along now. Try next door, she says she sees ghosts", she whispered and shut the door on her.

"Well, it appears the phrase 'third time lucky' does not apply here", Missy said out loud and walked out onto the street. "River Song, I'm counting on you". She swiftly teleported away in a veil of blue light, not noticing the curious eyes of Donna Noble peering from her window.

Missy didn't have time to take in her new surroundings, as she was already being showered with laser gunfire. Someone grabbed her by the wrists and she swung her head around to see what was happening.

"Teleport", they said. "Teleport now. Go!"

"What?" Missy answered over the heavy noise of ammunition being fired into a wall behind her.

"I'll do anything, just teleport now". And that's what she did, didn't know where, didn't know when. She just smashed co-ordinates into the manipulator and went. They arrived on a planet, with surface grey and crinkled. In the black sky above was a swirling nebula of red and pink, carefully peppered with tiny white stars.

"You're River Song, aren't you?" Missy asked the woman that was kneeling on the planet's surface, with curly blonde hair trailing over her dress. She was wearing a mauve tunic dress tied in the middle with a chunky black belt. She was wearing silvery, suade ankle boots and strapped to her calf was a blaster.

"Yes", she wheezed, getting up. "Who are you? And what the heck are you doing in the middle of a warzone?"

"My life is a warzone, dear. And I'm Missy, a friend of the Doctor's".

"What's he done or what is he about to do?"

"How-?"

"I'm his wife. I know a lot even if I'm at the other end of the galaxy. What's he doing with you, Koschei?"

"Jealous, much?"

"Me? Trust me sweetie, I'm his wife. I can't be jealous".

"You said it yourself, you know a lot. A jealous woman does more research than the FBI".

"So why'd you need me then? Nobody just drops themselves off on Arhoson 126V".

"The Doctor's about to do something he's going to regret. A lot".

"Tell me on the way".

"So, you in?"

"Well, someone's going to have to keep the husband in check, don't they?"
