Velvette
Velvette: Yeah! Yes! Absolutely! That's a good one.
Velvette lounges on her bed, snapping selfies with her phone. Her new "pajamas," a chic, silk ensemble that looks like it belongs on a high-fashion runway, shimmer under the soft glow of her bedside lamp.
Velvette: Oh yeah, looking flawless as always.
She strikes another pose, giggling to herself before swiping through the photos.
Suddenly, the door creaks open. Y/N trudges in, his face a picture of exhaustion. His shoulders slump, and he looks utterly miserable.
Velvette: Well, hello there, handsome! You look like a million bucks—wait, scratch that, you look like someone who's had a million bucks stolen from him. Rough day?
She grins playfully, leaning on her elbow to get a better look at him.
Y/N doesn't respond immediately. He drops his bag with a dull thud. He rubs his face with both hands, clearly worn out.
Velvette: Oh, come on, don't leave me hanging. What happened?
Y/N sighs deeply as he starts heading to the bathroom.
Y/N: Woke up early... couldn't even grab a full breakfast, or lunch. Stomach hurt all day. Someone spilled coffee on my notes and comics, I got chewed out by nine sinners over nothing, tripped over a cord and fell down a flight of stairs, got sprayed in the face by ink, paint was splashed on my head, a pipe burst and splashed me, forgot my phone charger, my foot got ran over by a bus, and then it started raining when I was walking back.
He splashes water on his face and looks at himself in the mirror, his reflection a reminder of how thoroughly the day has beaten him.
Velvette: Yikes. Sounds like a train wreck. Want me to call the fashion police? You're in desperate need of an intervention.
Y/N doesn't even crack a smile. He changes into a soft jacket and a pair of sweatpants, his movements slow and deliberate. He climbs into bed with a groan, pulling the blanket halfway over himself before staring at the ceiling.
Velvette, undeterred, sets her phone down and slides closer to him.
Velvette: Wow, not even a smirk? You must be dead inside. Alright, buddy, what's the game plan? Ice cream? A bad movie marathon? Or are you just going to mope until you pass out? Hell, I'll sit through Thomas the Tank Engine, if I have too.
Y/N lets out another sigh, turning his head slightly toward her.
Velvette softens, her teasing fading into genuine concern. She leans over, brushing a strand of hair out of his face.
Velvette watches Y/N curl up under the blanket, his back to her. Her teasing smirk returns as she leans over him.
Velvette: Aww, poor baby. Maybe what you need isn't rest. Maybe you just need a little... distraction?
She lets her voice drop into a playful, sultry tone as she runs a finger down his arm.
Velvette: Or maybe just be undressed and underneath you~.
Y/N doesn't respond, burying his face into the pillow.
Velvette: Oh, come on, you're not even going to look at me? That's no fun.
With a mischievous glint in her eye, she undoes the straps of her silky pajama top, letting it slide off one shoulder. She shifts closer, letting the fabric pool slightly.
Velvette: Y/N... Are you suuuure you don't need some 'Velvette therapy'? I'm very hands-on, you know.
Y/N didn't say anything.
Velvette: Please baby~. I promise I'll be a good girl~.
Still nothing. Y/N whimpers softly and curls up tighter, pulling the blanket over his head like a shield.
Velvette blinks, her playful demeanor fading as she realizes how deeply the day has affected him. She adjusts her top and sits up straighter.
Velvette: Oh, sweetie... You're really not okay, huh?
She gets out of bed and heads to the small kitchen area of their suite, pouring him a glass of water and grabbing a slice of chocolate cake from the fridge. Returning to his side, she sits on the edge of the bed and places the glass and plate on the nightstand.
Velvette: Here. Drink this and have a bite. You'll feel a little better, I promise.
Y/N peeks out from under the blanket, his red, tired eyes meeting hers. She smiles softly, reaching over to brush his hair back.
Velvette: C'mon, teddy bear. Just a little sip for me, okay?
Slowly, he sits up, his hands shaking slightly as he takes the glass of water. He drinks a little, followed by a small bite of cake. His shoulders tremble as the emotions of the day overwhelm him.
Y/N suddenly leans forward, wrapping his arms around Velvette and burying his face in her shoulder. He starts to cry, quiet sobs shaking his frame.
Velvette, holding him tightly, strokes his hair gently.
Velvette: Shh, it's okay, baby. Let it out. I've got you.
He clings to her, tears soaking her shoulder. She presses a kiss to his temple and whispers softly.
Velvette: You're my little teddy bear, you know that? All cuddly and sweet. I'm sorry I teased you earlier... You deserve all the love in the world.
Y/N hugs her tighter, his breathing slowly evening out.
Velvette: We'll make tomorrow better, okay? I'll make sure of it. But for now, let's just stay like this.
She holds him close, humming softly as he leans into her embrace, finally starting to relax.
Y/N looks up at her with red, puffy eyes, still sniffling. She gently cups his cheek and wipes a tear away.
Velvette: This one's just for you, sweetheart.
She takes a deep breath, her voice soft and melodic as she starts to sing:
Velvette:
"When the world feels heavy, and you're losing the fight,
I'll be the light holding you tight.
Through the dark, through the rain,
I'll be your shelter, easing your pain."
She strokes his hair, her voice steady and soothing.
"Even when the skies fall, even when you hide,
You'll always have me, always by your side.
Through the storms, through the tears,
I'll be the voice to chase your fears."
Velvette shifts closer, wrapping her arms around him as she continues.
"You don't have to speak, just rest in my arms,
I'll keep you safe, away from all harm.
No matter how far, no matter the tide,
You'll always have me, always by your side."
Her voice dips into a gentle hum as she sways with him slightly, rocking him like a child.
Y/N's breathing evens out, and he presses his face against her shoulder, his grip loosening as the song washes over him.
Velvette: There we go, teddy bear. Just let it all melt away. I'm right here, always.
She continues humming the melody, holding him close until his exhaustion finally pulls him into a peaceful sleep.
