Shoutouts

TopazDarkBlue was so close! He guessed Heather Chandler and Gretchen Weiners. Sadly, he missed James Dean, also from Heathers.

Today was an exciting day for school.1 Carlos was walking to school and arriving a little late.

This was the day he'd see his love again.

He patted his pocket, the one with the locket he adored so much, and went to one of his lockers as most of the other 11 graders left to be introduced to the new kids. Carlos better hurry.

He got his books and his lunch and hurried to the Auditorium.

How it worked is transfer students or students joining ahead could either wait until the next year starts or inbetween, where you'd get a proper introduction with the other students of your grade. The rule was made due to the high population of transfer students at Calvonberry High, Mariya's school.

This year there wasn't many, according to the over-enthusiastic teacher. Carlos sat and scanned the crowd for his beloved Mariya, but could not find her.

"I am proud to announce Kelsie Layton!"

"This wonderful new student is named George Mayberry!"

"Gretchen Weiners!"

"Carlos Samson!"

That was him. He went up and introduced himself, but was more interested in scanning the crowd for his reason for living, his dear Mariya.

Once he found her, it caused him to stutter as she looks much better then on her social media when he saw her sitting there, so absentmindedly but so adorable.

He quickly finished his sentence before sitting down. No wonder he couldn't see her. She was in the top left and he was all the way down in the top right!

"James Dean!"

"And we would have the lovely Heather Chandler, but she decided on another school last minute."

Assembly seemed to go on longer and longer as he knew his beloved was so far away from him. All the years of being so far apart, he wanted to embrace her and never let go. Anyone who tried to tear them apart again would fail.

After the Assembly Carlos went to History, scanning the room. No Mariya.

Their schedules were different...

He'd have to change that.

He was introduced again, but he knew the students will never see him in that class at that time again. This would be the first day, where he has to endure the painful hours away from his sweet, sweet Mariya.

Each second was a minute. Each minute was an hour, and each hour felt a little less then 3 days.

Eventually the bell that seemed to arrive from heaven. Carlos was the first to leave and ran to the lockers, scanning for Mariya's.

When he found hers -- a couple minutes of looking through the lockers ventalation for her stuff -- he unlocked it easily, simply using her birthday.

'My sweet Mariya... So beautiful, yet so predictable...' he thought to himself, rummaging in the locker. 'Now to find your timetable. Every class with you...'

Just as he found it, he heard his Angel's voice the only time he didn't want to.

"Hey! What are you doing!" Mariya exclaimed, pulling him away from the locker, although he could hide it behind his back. "What are you doing?" she asked sternly.

"I-- Uh--" he stuttered, feeling his face go hot since he was so close to his goddess of beauty and everything nice and pure in this world. "Y-Your actually... Wow... Don't you remember me?" he asked.

She looked at him again. Carlos couldn't wait for his response. "No. Should I?"

This struck him like a knife in his heart, but he refused to let his beloved see him sad. "Carlos... Your best friend...? See, I still have the locket!" he said, taking the locket out of his pocket. He never left it out of his sight, and made sure it was in perfect condition.

"Oh! Carlos!" she said, a warm smile that almost made him melt on her lips. "You still have the locket? Why?"

"I never forgot... Did you?" he asked, feeling his heart ache, because those lockets were the most valued promise in this world. However, one look at that smile made him smile, too. Her smile was contagious to him.

"Of course not, it just seems like a silly little trinket now," she said jokingly.

Carlos swore he heard his heart break.

"A... Trinket?" he asked, frowning a little now before smiling in amusement, since his Darling might be suspicious. "Ahaha, yeah, it is," he said sarcastically, although his love sensed none of it.

"Yeah. I do still have mine, somewhere... By the way, how did you open my locker and why?"

"I... Uh... Gotta go to class!" he said, wrapping the locket up one-handed again and putting it away, rushing off.

He knew his purpose for life found him strange, but he had her timetable. All that was left was to convince the Principal now.

'We'll be together forever... Just you wait...'
