18. Judge, Jury, Executioner

Daryl was in the shed with that guy, I don't know what he was doing to him but hopefully he wasn't hurting him, I was talking with Ellie, Aria and Grace. "What do you think your brothers doing in there?" Ellie asked him, we all looked to Aria.

"He's probably teaching him a lesson. That's all I can guess." She said to us and I hugged Grace.

"Well as long he don't kill him." Grace said and I looked at her. He probably would.

"Who knows what he'll do." I said to him before Lori called us over. It was time to eat.

"So what you gonna do? We'd all feel better if we knew the plan." Lori said to us all, it would make me feel better as well.

"Is there a plan?" Andrea asked as I was cuddling her. She was like my Mom.

"We gonna keep him here?" Glenn asked Dad and Rick as they looked at us.

"We'll know soon enough." Rick said before nodding his head. Daryl was walking over.

"Boy there's got a gang, 30 men. They have heavy artillery and they ain't looking to make friends. They roll through here, our boys are dead. And our women, they're gonna...they're gonna wish they were." Daryl said to us, I was too young to understand some of that but I guess from how everyone looked.

"What did you do?" Carol asked him and he looked down.

"Had a little chat." He said before walking away to go to Aria.

"No one goes near this guy." Rick said to us, I wouldn't. He didn't have to worry.

"Rick, what are you gonna do?" Lori asked him before they had a whisper conversation I walked over to go and talk to Carl.

"How's your head after the accident with my Mom." He asked me, I'd forgotten about that. I guess I still had a mark.

"I'm better. It's not even a scratch." I said to him with a smile, he smiled back at me.

"I'm glad your okay. I can't imagine what camp would be without you." He said to me with a smile.

"It would be boring. Who'd keep an eye on you." I said to him getting a laugh. I was glad that I was okay.

"I guess no one would, not properly at least." He said to me getting a laugh out of me. I saw Maggie wave me over so I left Carl. For now that is. We were doing some jobs around the farm. I was glad to be a good help. Especially in a time like this.

"You like that boy?" She asked me with a smile and I looked up at her. I felt like I could be honest with her.

"Maybe a little bit." I said to her with a smile and she smiled back at me.

"How long have you known him for?" She asked me and I looked ahead of where we were walking.

"Since I was a year old. We've grown up with each other." I said to her and she smiled at me and nudged my shoulder.

"You should go for it. He seems to like you too." She said to me making me smile and I looked at her.

"Like Glenn likes you and you like him." I said to her and she shook her head. Once we finished with the jobs I went over to Grace who was talking with Carl. We went over to Daryl and Aria's camp. We saw the motorbike and Carl acted like he was riding it.

"You should've got one if the world was normal and you were older." Grace said making him laugh.

"You'd be so cool." I said to him before he opened the bag and pulled a gun out.

"Careful with that." Grace said to him and he looked at her.

"We'll be fine." He said before we went into the woods. We saw a walker that was in the mud. Stuck in the mud. It looked at us and Grace gasped. We all went back.

"It can't move." I said to Grace with a smile I held her and Carl went closer.

"Be careful." Grace said to him and he picked up a stone.

"It can't hurt us." He said as it snarled at us. We were safe. We just watched it.

"Look, it can't move. And what can't move can't hurt us." I said to her and she smiled and nodded.

"I guess your right." She said before letting me go. Carl was running around it whilst I was staying on the opposite side to it, he pulled the gun on it and the walker started to move its legs. I grabbed Carl.

"Carl. Run." I said to him before Grace and I ran back another way. We weren't getting caught today. Once we returned back to camp I ram to T-Dog and we went in the house.

"Y/n, Grace. Your staying with Jimmy. You hear me. Go be with Aria and Ellie." Dad said to us and I went to go and be with Jimmy soon Carl joined us. I was glad he was okay.

"I wonder what their talking about." Aria said to us all and I looked at her.

"They want to kill 'the kid'." Carl said to us, that didn't surprise me at all.

"They can't do that." Ellie said to us, but they would.

"Why are they doing that?" Grace asked us all mainly me and I looked at her.

"To keep us safe." I said to her with a smile. When night fell, we were at camp when Dad disappeared off. Followed by Rick and Daryl. The execution was about to happen. Grace and I were in the RV. I wanted to distract her from what was happening. I was wondering where Dale went. He'd gone somewhere. Probably went on a walk to get some air. We heard screaming and it sounded like Dale. Dad walked in and told us to get in the house. And that's exactly where I took Grace. I left her in there before running after the screams. Once I got there I saw that Dale had been attacked by the walker. The same walker that we'd chased and teased earlier. It had ripped Dale open. He was dead. I started sobbing. My grandpa on camp was dead and it was my fault. I saw Carl appear. I hugged Dad and cried. I couldn't hear anything apart from my sobs followed by a single ear piercing gunshot. Issued by Daryl. He wasn't suffering anymore. But we were. We were always going to suffer, no matter what this new world brought.
