ALL ABOARD THE ANGST TRAIN!
~~×~~
Third Person's POV-
"Alexander, are you alright?"
Alexander looked up from his hands. His mind was conscious of his surroundings now.
"I'm..I'm fine." Alex managed to say, shakily.
"Are you sure?" John asked, worried, and handed him a glass or water.
"Yes, yes, I'm fine —"
"You may be fine, Alexander, but you're not good." He said firmly.
"I'm fine, John, you don't need to take care of me."
"But, I need to, Alex. Please."
"It's not like you care." Alex snapped back, not noticing what he was saying.
"What do you mean, 'I don't care'?" John asked, frowning.
"You're never there! You say, 'I'll be there for you', but you're never there!" He cried.
"What do you mean? I care, Alex. You know I do. And you know, I love you." John said, warm tears streaming from his eyes.
"Oh, do I?" Alex asked furiously, and started pacing around the room. "I know you do, I know you do fucking love me, but do I even know you? You're hiding something from me, John Laurens."
"Of course you know me. It's not like we haven't just met. You know, I know I love you. You just don't trust me!"
"I trust you!" Alex exclaimed. "I trust you with all my heart, with all my life. I trust you, Laurens. But, I can't trust you when you don't trust me!"
"WELL, I TRUST YOU? IS THAT ALL YOU WANT TO HEAR? THAT I TRUST YOU?"
"YES! YES, I DO. EXCEPT, DO YOU EVEN TRUST ME WITH WHATEVER YOU'RE HIDING FROM ME?"
"I.." John frowned, speechless.
The two were standing, both crying and panting slightly at how mad they were at each other.
Never in their whole relationship they had a row this serious. A row this bad. A row that could possibly tear them apart.
"Oh, so now what, you're speechless." Alex said. "What? You don't trust me?"
"I trust you." John sighed, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Oh, you do? Then, why not tell me?"
"There are some things that I can't tell but for you to figure out." He said, his voice wavering.
"Oh really?" Alex said. He repeated, "Oh really? What could you possibly hide from me that I have to find out myself?"
John stayed silent.
This was not going as plan...
"Are you cheating on me?" Alex blurted out, before he could stop himself.
"Excuse me?"
"Are you cheating on me?" He repeated.
"Why the fucking hell would I cheat on you?" John frowned, crossing his arms.
"Oh, I don't know." Alex said sarcastically. "Maybe you think Francis is better. Maybe you think I'm not the perfect, I'm not the one. Maybe you think I'm n-not enough!"
"Of course you are —" John stopped, realizing his mistake.
He's been spending too much time with Francis. Too much time with Francis, and he started neglecting Alex.
The whole point of meeting Francis was for Alex. And, gaining his friendship again.
"A-Alex, I swear I didn't —"
"Love me? Well, sure. Goodbye." He spat. "This isn't even good. Bye, Laurens."
"Alex, p-please, wait. Let m-me ex-explain—"
"You've got no explaining to do." Alex frowned, turned around, and head off to the fire escape.
He opened the door, and a fresh breeze met with his red and puffy eyes, making it sting slightly.
He sighed, and started walking down the stairs.
He was down one step when:
"Bye-bye, Alexander." Said a strangely familiar voice.
"Huh — ?"
He felt a hand push the back of his head and fell over the railings.
A high-pitched scream came from his mouth, as he fell lower and lower towards the hard pavement.
The world seemed like in slow-motion.
Is the end of me? He thought.
He saw the hooded figure of the culprit, the buildings getting taller as he fell.
And at last, he saw John leaning over the railings, terrified, and screaming.
John.
Was that his last thought?
"ALEX — NO!"
