Chapter One: One Powerful Man

Shima's P.O.V.

I was listening to music in the early hours of the morning when the fateful knock came. So, with 'S&M' blasting in my ears, I head towards the door, my brother still passed out in his room. The very second the door opened, both our fates were sealed. The man from last night, looking sharper than last night stood there.

"Is he still passed out?" He questions.

"Yeah. I gave him some Advil and water before I let him sleep. He's been like this since he turned twenty one." I inform and let him in, taking off my headphones. I stop my music and walk with him towards my brothers room he knew this house pretty well. How frucking suspicious.

"Do you have piercings?" Akito questions. Oh, yeah. I take them out when I go to school or work.

"Yup. Believe or not, I used to be quite the delinquent. And girls seem to love it." I smirk.

"They do? Why weren't you wearing them yesterday?" He questions.

"I make better impressions with them out. And I'm required to take them out for work." I glance at my brother, he was drooling and his shirt was pulled up a bit, his pants pulled down a bit. "If he keeps sleeping like that, someone is going to jump his fucking bones. His girlfriend will not be happy." I walked over and pulls his shirt down. I kneel by the bed and smile at him. "Wake up. I am not afraid to pour water on you." My brother didn't move and I sigh. "5," Akito gave me a weird look "4," Kuro's fingers twitched "3,.." My brother shot up.

"I told you to stop that!" He exclaimed with a yelp.

"You know me well enough that know I won't stop. Oh, Akito is here to return your phone." I get up and shove my hands in my pockets.

"I see you're wearing those piercings again." My brother seemed almost annoyed.

"You left the home when I was going through a tough time. What the fuck did you expect to happen? Drink the damn water, your head must be killing you." I pull my headphones on and continue listening to my song. I walked to the kitchen to make something for breakfast.

Don't get me wrong, I love my brother. Yet, he wouldn't know what I went through after he left. My best friend committed suicide. When he did, I last that last strand of sanity that made me dislike pain. My body succumbed to pleasure and pain. I didn't exactly mind. I do miss my friend.

Through my music, I hear another knock on the door. Must be Skylar. I take off my headphones again and go to the door, forgetting breakfast. I open the door to see Skylar standing there with a bag and a smirk.

"What's with that face Sky?" I question.

"You owe me. So I'm going to make you wear something that I think will look good on you." I frown.

"Fine. Hand me the damn bag." I growl.

"Here you go. Go change in your room." She pushes me to my room.

"I'm not going to bother asking what's going on Skylar." I sigh. We stop in front of my brothers door.

"Well, I didn't think either of you knew attractive people." Skylar remarks.

"You bitch." I mutter.

"Go put it on. It's not like what I made you wear last time." She smiled.

"Yeah, last time you made me wear a fucking dress." I groan.

"Oh, also, when you put this on, no swearing. Hand me the piercings." I scowl and take them off, placing them in her hand. "What's with that look, I'm doing this for you. Can't have my best friend being a punk forever." I growl and go to my room.  I strip to my boxers and look at what she gave me. It wasn't just clothes, there were boxer briefs too. I sigh and strip again, pulling on the briefs in replacement of my boxer shorts.

The fabric was slightly tight fitting. The jeans were tight fitting too. The fabric was black, I quite liked them. The socks were solid white and the shoes were blue converse. I then put on a long sleeved white button up and a dark blue sweater vest over it. I was given a black tie and a note on the bag saying to brush my hair neatly. After all this was done, I put a black watch on my wrist that was still in the bag. I disliked the outfit. It was too preppy and made a huge emphasis on my but. She loved commenting on how it was big. I sighed and left my room.

"Over here." I walk over hesitantly. I didn't realize she was in front of my brothers door. I also didn't know that Akito was still here.

"I hate this, it's too preppy." I sigh, running a hand though my hair. "Why am I wearing this?"

"First, when wearing this, you have to act as adorable as possible. I know you can do it, star of the high school play." She grinned.

"You are having way to much fun with this. Doesn't your boyfriend hate how close you are to me?" I question.

"What did I just say?" She questions.

"This isn't exactly fair. But at least I'm the cutest one here now." I smile innocently.

"You can do better. Here, pretend to ask me out." Skylar sighs.

"Gross." I frown.

"Getting better. Besides, pretend I'm the person you like." What the hell was she doing?

"F-fine. H-hey, I-I saw you f-from the c-corner of the r-room and w-was wondering if y-you'd like to g-get some ice cream?" I hold my arms behind my back and shuffle nervously until the question was delivered, then returned to my natural position.

"That was so freaking adorable! Don't you two agree?" My face became bright red and I glanced sideways were the two men were holding in laughter.

"You set me up!" I exclaimed towards Skylar.

"So what if I did? Look Shima, you've been acting like an asshole for too long, so I wanted you to at least try to be a good clean kid." She sighed.

"I'm going to the library. If you see on the news it was burnt down, you know who to bail out." With that I grabbed my wallet and keys before leaving the house.

Akito's P.O.V.

Low long have you been friends with my brother?" Kuro questions.

"Since high school. He used to be close friends with my brother. But, my brother committed suicide after being bullied for years. Your brother became pretty jaded after that. I stuck to his side to try saving him. No matter what I try, that guy won't listen. When I told him he could get hurt this way, he told me he loved the pain!" Skylar looked at the ground. "I just want him to be happy and to be a good person." She smiled sadly at us and then left, tears prickling her eyes.

"Akito, can you go to the library and get my brother? I know it's a lot to ask."  Kuro smiled.

"Don't worry. It's nothing." I assure.

"I'm worried about him. He's only kind when someone he cares about is in bad condition. Maybe I should make him live on his own. It's obvious I can't raise him, and I'm going to get married soon." He sighs.

"Zoe finally accepted your proposal?" I smile.

"Yeah. But, I don't think she'll be okay with having Shima around. I feel terrible though." I ruffle my friends hair.

"If that's troubling you so much, I'll take him in for you. He may dislike it at first, but he's definitely an interesting kid." I smile, not really enjoying the idea very much myself. But, if it's to help my best friend, than I'll be fine with it.

"Thank you. I hope I'm not imposing." He is, but I won't let him no that.

"You aren't. I'll go grab your brother and bring him back. You should rest a little bit more." I leave his phone beside him and exit the apartment. Leaving, I could see Skylar going home, she was obviously crying. Poor girl. I myself, got to my car, which I saw some people eyeballing. Can't blame them. It's not everyday you see a luxury sports car like mine. I can't really remember the model, but the dark shade is definitely my style. I get in it and drive towards the main library which I have myself, visited before.

I pulled up and parked my car, looking out my window for Shima. When my eyes landed on the slender and lanky boy, he was surrounded by a couple of thugs. I thought he'd be more aggressive, but, his face was red, his eyes looked misty, and he was trembling. Was he acting? It didn't look like it. I got out of my car, getting looks from a few men and women and walk over.

"Oh look, he's about to cry." One of the thugs prodded.

"Leave me alone! Please, I don't have any money on me." He lied, his lower lip quivering.

"That so? Well, maybe there's something else we can get out of you." One of them sneered.

"I want to go home! I want my brother!" He started sobbing, the thugs looked slightly uncomfortable and I realized what he was doing. So, I walk forward and make my presence known.

"You really are quite the actor Shima. You had me convinced for a second too." I smirk. His act broke that fast.

"My brother asked you to come get me? He always ruins my fun." Shima frowns.

"You need to stop worrying him." I sigh. He simply rolled his eyes and cast a glare towards the thugs.

"Just so you know, I'm a black belt. And even if you tried to and successfully punched me, I don't mind pain. If only Skylar hadn't taken my piercings." He shrugged.

"I'm taking you home." I inform.

"Fine. If it makes my brother happy." We leave, attracting a few stares. To be expected.

"You are really good at acting." I compliment as we reach my car.

"Thanks. Is this really your car? What do you do for a living?" He questions as we get in.

"I'm the president and CEO of Ristu Publishing company. It pays well. Your brother works in the literature department. Though, he just recently transferred." I inform, starting the car.

"I wonder why." Did his brother not tell him yet? Kuro, tell your brother these types of things first. We drive all the way back and I park my car. When we get back inside, Kuro is waiting.

"Akito, I decided to take you up on your offer." Here it comes.

"What offer?" Shima questions curiously.

"Shima, me and Zoe are getting married soon, and well, I hate to say this, butt e doesn't want a you around. So, Akito offered to let you stay at his place until you finish university." Kuro informed. I expected him to scream, to argue, but he simply smiled.

"It's fine. I knew I'd have to move out eventually. Besides, I am twenty one. I think I can afford my own place. I'll pack my bags." He walked towards his room, and I knew that he was going to cry for real.

"He's taking this surprisingly well." Kuro comments.

"You're absolutely clueless. I'll still take him in." I would feel terrible if something happened to him if we allowed him to live alone.

"Thanks again." My friend is an absolute airhead. I sigh and walk to where I believed his room was. I knocked hearing a grunt and came in. Shima was sitting on the ground, an empty suitcase in front of him. His face was red and eyes were extremely misty. This time, it was easy to tell he wasn't acting. He looked defeated. I walk over and he looks up at me.

"My parents don't want me, and now my brother." The tears fell, down his cheek and dripping of his chin. Yet, he remained expressionless.

"Don't say that. Wow, your brother is an airhead." I crouched next to him. "You're staying with me. I'm sure we'll argue a lot, but, I promise to respect your feelings and hobbies." Shima slowly started to smile.

"Thank you." He wipes away his tears, continuing to look at me.

"But, I do want you to be a good kid. So, I'm helping you pack. Everything not in here, you're selling." I inform.

"That's fair. I don't want to hurt any more people." This was the start of something we should dare not repeat.
