In the forest:
Sonic and Maple were surrounded by monsters.
Maple: Provocation!
The monsters all run towards them. Sonic does a homing attack and kicks the monster's head as it disappears. Maple hits the monsters with her shield.
Sonic: Sonic Wind!
Sonic shoots waves as the monsters disappear.
Maple: Shield attack! Shield attack! Shield attack!
All of the monsters were defeated as they disappear.
Maple acquired great shield mastery, evasion, parry, and savage.
Sonic acquired counter and energy blasts.
More monsters were in the air.
Maple: If I eat those, maybe I can build explosion resist!
Sonic: Eating them?!
Maple: Paralyzing Shout!
Maple paralyzed the monsters as they all fall from the sky.
Sonic: Ahh!
Maple covers Sonic as they blocked the monsters from the sky.
Sonic: Thanks, Maple.
Maple: Hehe.
Maple takes one of the monsters and sits on a log.
Maple: Time to dig in!
Sonic: Oh, man.
Maple eats the bug.
Maple: Ooh! It's just like candy that pops in your mouth!
Sonic: Huh? It's that good?
Maple: Yeah! Here, try one!
Sonic pics up the monster.
Sonic: Oh, here goes.
Sonic takes a bite.
Sonic: What the?! It's... it's delicious!
Maple: I told you!
Maple acquired Bomb Eater and Devour.
Sonic: Devour?
Maple: That's an unexpected bonus! I'll stick that one on my shield's skill slot.
Sonic: Hmm? What's this shuriken doing on my back? I can't use it.
Maple: Maybe later, you'll get a skill.
Sonic: Yeah.
Maple: I really hope Risa joins us soon!
Sonic: I wonder how she'll fight.

In the city:
Kaede was walking to school while Sonic was in Kaede's house.
Kaede: I wonder what skill I should aim for next? Kinda wish u could move faster somehow. Then again, my plan was to specialize in defense. A girl comes and hits Kaede's head.
Risa: Yo!
Kaede: Risa!
Risa: Morning, Kaede. Get used to the game yet?
Kaede: Yup! I figured out eating solves all my problems!
Risa: Um, Kaede? What exactly are you playing?

I'm school:
Teacher: Alright class, today we have a new student.
Kaede: A new student?
Risa: I wonder who it is?
Teacher: You can come in now.
Sonic walks in with a uniform as Kaede and Risa were surprised.
Kaede: S-Sonic!
Risa: That's him?
Sonic: Hey there.
Teacher: His name is Sonic. You can sit where Kaede is.
Sonic: Thanks.
Sonic sits in the desk next to Kaede and Risa.
Kaede: How did you get here?
Sonic: Hehe, I kinda ask.

Sonic: Yep, and you're Risa.
Kaede: I can't believe he's in our class, but then again...
Kaede starts to blush.
Risa: Huh? Kaede, is something wrong?

After school:
Risa: Yeah? An event?
Kaede: Yup! I heard they're holding the first event today! Me and Sonic are gonna work together! It's a battle royal of players!
Risa: Hmm.
Sonic: Yep. Players who get top place earn a special, limited edition item.
Kaede: Yeah, you know, stuff like that is impossible to resist!
Risa: Oh, yeah? Looks like you're more into the game than I thought. So Sonic, how'd you met Kaede?
Sonic: In the plaza. You see...

Few minutes later:
Risa: Oh, I see. You're not supposed to be there.
Sonic: Yep. And I'm just waiting for them to fix it.
Risa goes to Sonic's ear.

Sonic and Maple gets in the game and goes in the plaza as a lot of players were here.

Maple: Whoa! All these people are for the event?!
Sonic: We're gonna win this, Maple!
Maple: Yeah!
A little dragon approaches.
Dorazou: Rawr! Welcome! It's time to begin NewWorld Online's very first event! It'll last three hours on a map specially made for today! By the way, I'm the game's mascot, Dorazou! For you new players, nice to meet you! Let's start the countdown! Three! Two! One! Zero!
Sonic: Lets do it!
Every player disappears as they all were separate in the map. Sonic and Maple were in a castle.
Maple: This is...?
Sonic: Yep. It is.
Maple: And here I was scared we'd be thrown right into battle!
Sonic: Let's not rush yet. Let them come to us. Right now let's just relax.
Maple: Yeah.

Few minutes later:
Maple gets a stick and draws dragons on the wall.
Sonic: Ooo, like the dragons.
Maple: Thanks.
A certain guy then speaks.
Guy: Hello there, missy.
Sonic: Missy?
Guy: It's a pity, but you'll soon be a beautiful sacrifice for me.
Sonic: Hmph, I don't think so.
Christmas: My name is Christmas Rose! Also known as the White Rose Knight!
Maple: Sure...
Sonic: Alright, enough with the introduction, are you gonna come or not?
Christmas: Oh, now you're getting on my nerves! Now attack!
Christmas jumps up in the air hitting Sonic, but Sonic steps out of the way as Maple gets her shield out.
Christmas: Huh?
Sonic: Bye.
The shield devours the player as it disappears.
Maple: Hurray! Now then, back to drawing! Sonic, can you help me on this?
Sonic: Yeah, sure.
Three other guys were hiding as they all runs up towards them.
Guy: Even if you can repel the first attack...!
Guy2: You'll never dodge the second and third!
Guy3: We are the Trio! People call us the Blazing Brothers!
Sonic: I'll handle this!
The trio attacks Sonic, but he dodges it. Sonic runs up to the guy and punches him in the gut.
Sonic: Tornado!
Sonic spins and send a tornado as all three of them were blown off.
Sonic: Alright. That takes care of that!
More players were coming in the castle.
Maple: More of them?
Sonic: Yep. Maple, can you take the left side on your own.
Maple: Yeah!
Sonic: Alright then! I'll take the right!
Sonic runs towards the other players and spin dashes all of them.
Sonic shoots energy blasts as all of the players were down. Maple keeps devouring the players from the left as more players keep coming.

In the plaza:
Guy: Um, isn't that broken?
Woman: They're still going strong even after 100 people!
Guy2: The shield status effect is owning them. Has she not been hit?

In the map:
Sonic runs around as the players can't see him. The players were all down by Sonic's speed as they couldn't find him.

In the plaza:
Guy: That's insane! He's too fast!
Guy2: How does he have that strength and speed like that?!
Guy3: Is that even possible?!

In the map:
A guy was going to attack Maple, but it bounced right back.

In the plaza:
Guy: Huh?! How does a morning star bounce right off her head?

In the map:
A bunch of mages were on the towers going to attack.
Maple: Whoa, so many people...
Sonic: Maple!
Maple nods her head as they did their technique.
Sonic: Breaking Tornado!
Sonic breakdance on the floor as a huge tornado sucks all of the mages in.
Maple: Hydra!
Maple's sword summons a poison dragon as it shoots poison on the tornado, making it a poison tornado.
Players: Ahhhhh!
Sonic: Now that's what I call poison!
Sonic and Maple hi fives each other.

In the plaza:
Woman: They're monsters.
Guy2: What could their stats possibly be?
Guy: The girl does nothing but counters. If she can't move fast, that means her agility isn't much. While the guy runs up. He looks like a balanced type but he's that strong? Plus, he's ridiculously fast.
Woman: Their teamwork is out of this world.

In the map:
Sonic was keeping an eye out while Maple was drawing.
Sonic: Alright, there's no one here. We're good.
Maple: Okay.
Sonic: (Man, what does this shuriken on my back do? I can't pull it out or anything. I do like the color blue on it though, it's kinda cool.)
A little dragon comes to them.
Dorazou: Hey, there's one hour left! Currently in first place is Payne! Second is Dread! In third is Maple and Sonic!
Maple: Yippee! We're in third!
Sonic: Alright!
Dorazou: As of now, if you defeat a top three player, you get 30% of their points! Their positions will be marked on the map!
???: Ugh, that's annoying. Really?
Maple: Um, in other words, everyone will be coming for to hunt us down?
Sonic: No time for talking, here they come!
Guy: There they are!
Guys: Come on, surround them!
A bunch of players are surrounding Sonic and Maple.
Sonic: That's a lot! Be on your toes!
Man: Hmph. They're naught but newbies. I'll track you two hoe fearsome the battlefield is. Don't hate me for this!
The man runs towards Maple as Sonic covers her. Sonic charges up his punch as huge blue aura was on his body to his fists.
Sonic: Aura Punch!
Sonic dodges his attack as he uppercuts him and uses his aura to his feet and kicks him down to the ground as he disappears. Everyone was stunned.
Maple: Deadly Breath!
Maple's shield opens up as poison gas was everywhere. All the players were running away as Maple uses Paralyzing Shout as they fall to the ground. Sonic finishes off with Sonic Wind as they all disappear.
Dorazou: Rawr! It's over! Result: There's been no change in the top three players!
Maple: Woohoo! We're so awesome Sonic!
Maple hugs Sonic.
Sonic: H-Hey?!
Sonic didn't fight back as he lets Maple hug him.
Sonic: (Risa may be right, but... I don't know...)
Dorazou: Let's kick off the interviews with our third place winner, Maple and Sonic!
Maple: Huh? Uh, um...
Dorazou: Anything to say about the event?
Maple: Um, uh... we took a pounding, but I liked its.
Guy: Did she trip over her tongue?
Dorazou: Anything to say about the event, Sonic?
Sonic: Yeah! With Maple with her shield and me with my speed, we're unstoppable! The event was fun, though. Huh? Maple, why are you red?
Dorazou: Rawr! Congratulations! Here's a commemorative medal!
Sonic: Thanks!
Maple: Thank you very mush! For crying out loud! I'm so embarrassed!

The next day in the city:
Risa: Huh? Third place? For real?
Kaede: Yeah, we're surprised ourselves.
Sonic: Yeah.
Risa: Wait a sec. What level are you two?
Kaede: We're both level 20.
Risa: And you two got third? How? What kind of character are you two?
Sonic: Oh, me? I'm balanced.
Risa: Balanced? So you balance your stats. You, Kaede?
Kaede: A great shielder focused on defense.
Sonic: She doesn't focus on any other stats except defense.

In school:
Risa: Huh?! What kinda monster did you make? That's Kaede for you. Always the airhead.
Sonic: Haha.
Kaede: Huh? You think?
Risa: Of course I do! It's gonna be tough trying to pass you two up.
Kaede: B-But if you do the same thing as me-
Sonic: Nope, Risa won't do that.
Kaede: Huh?
Risa: Sonic's right. You do you and I'll do me.
Kaede: Then what are you going to do?
Risa: Hmm? If you're being a tank, and you're balance, maybe I'll roll a wizard with long range attacks. Though if I'm gonna party with you two, that's way too conventional. Alright, I've decided! I'm gonna be a swashbuckler!
Sonic, Kaede: Swashbuckler?
Risa: Yup! They evade the enemy and make sure their attacks do nothing!
Sonic: Oh, makes sense.
Kaede: Oh, that's cool! But I'm already a shield class. What's the point of us both defending?
Risa: No matter what kind of fight we land in, we'll take no damage! Not even a scratch! And with Sonic, we'll be insanely powerful! Well? Doesn't that sound cool?

Sonic: Not a bad idea.
Risa: I wanna party with that concept in mind, so swashbuckler it is!
Kaede: I'll keep raising my defense more!
Risa: Oh, but don't get caught up in that too much.
Sonic: She's right. There's no point if you end up losing. If it comes to it, it's better to cast down your shield to live another day.

Sonic then blushes a little.
Sonic: Hehe.
Kaede: But, did you get permission from your mom to play?
Risa: Yep!
Sonic: Great!
Kaede: Awesome! That means we can all play together today!

In the plaza:
Risa: Ooh! So this is what it's like!
Sonic: Yep.
Maple: Isn't it great? I was pretty shocked when I logged in, too!
Risa: I figured Kaede- Oh, shoot!
Sonic: Hmm?
Maple: Is there a monster?
Risa: Not that. It's bad form to use real names. So remember to call me Sally. My real name in reverse. Sally.
Sonic: Sally, huh?
Maple: Sally! Sally, it is! Okay, got it!
Sally: Now then, first things first!

In the Inn:
Maple: Oh? You spread your points in all sorts of stats!
Sally: That's normal, you know. But I decided not to touch vitality, HP, and MP for the time being.
Sonic: Makes sense.
Maple: Why?
Sonic: Because she can just evade all damages. She doesn't really need HP and defense.
Sally: That's right. And I don't know if I'm using magic yet, so I'm keeping MP low. A lack of strength can be compensated by weapons to a degree. But since I want to be really fast, I put most of mine to agility.
Sonic: Really fast, huh?
Maple: You really gave it some thought.
Sally: People That aren't meat shields have a bit more to consider. I hope I can get some specialized gear soon. Oh, but that shield of yours, um...
Maple: Replica of the Dark Knight.
Sally: Yeah, That. It eats up all enemy attacks, right? But that means you can't acquire skills which require you to get hit.
Maple: Yeah. Which is why I asked about commissioning a shield from a crafter I met the other day named Iz. And she said...

Flashback:
Iz: Well, If you're able to bring me enough materials, I could make you one for around 1,000,000 gold.
Maple: My Replica of the Dark Night is black, so... I was thinking I want a white shield next.
Iz: In that case, you should try the underground lake south of the city. I'll need scales from the white fish that swim in a lake for materials.

End of flashback:
Maple: So she said.
Sally: Okay! Let's go check out this underground lake!
Sonic: (Underground lake? If there's water everywhere, count me out.)
Maple: What? Really?
Sally: Of course! Oh, but first, we gotta buy fishing rods somewhere.
Sonic: I guess why not. Let's go!
Sonic and Sally walks out of the room as Maple was far behind.
Maple: Hey, wait up! You're both too fast!
Sonic: Oh, yeah.
Sally: Whoops, sorry. That's too fast for her?

Sonic was running while Sally was carrying Maple on her back

Maple: So fast! That's 60 agility for you!

Maple, Sally: What?
Sonic: Monsters up ahead!
Maple: Paralyzing Shout!
Maple paralyzes the wolves as she devours it with her shield.
Sally: So you're really the fastest thing alive?
Sonic: Yep! Just try to keep up.
Sonic boosts up ahead as Maple and Sally were surprised.
Maple: Whoa!
Sally: He wasn't kidding! I'll have to take it up a notch!
Maple: Whoa!

In the cave:
Maple: Whoa! That was super quick!
Sally: You may worship me.
Maple: As you wish, Master Sally!
Sonic: Haha, are we going in or what?
Sally: Duh, let's go!
Sonic and the two were walking inside the cave.
Sally: So Sonic, what's your weapon like?
Sonic: Oh, I don't really have a weapon, I use my fists. I do have this big, blue shuriken on my back.
Sally: Ooo, that's cool.
Sonic: Yeah, but I don't know how it works.
Maple: Guys, look! The water!
The two look ahead as they see water everywhere.
Maple: Come on, let's fish!
Sally: Coming!
Sonic: (Oh no, not water!)

2 hours later:
Sonic was relaxing by the wall as Maple and Sally were fishing.Maple catches a fish.
Maple: Finally got a third.
Sally: Ooh, I caught another!
Maple: I only got three. Meanwhile, you're on your 12th...
Sally: What did you expect with zero dex? And I just started playing, so... just skinning these little fish I catch is giving level after level.
Maple: What are you at?
Sally: Six.
Sally acquires fishing.
Sally: My first skill is fishing? So much for calling you the strange one. Oh, Sonic, you wanna fish?
Sonic: No thanks, I'm good.
Sally grabs Sonic's hand.
Sally: Oh, come on, just once!
Sonic: Hey!
Sally gives Sonic her rod.
Sonic: Oh, fine.
Sonic was waiting until he gets something.
Sonic: Oh, I got something!
Sonic catches a fish and kills it as he gets a scale.
Sally: Nice, you caught one!
Maple: You have a bunch of stat points, right? You're not using em?
Sally: Maybe once I get some more skills. Cuz skills might steer what fighting style I use.
Maple: You sound like such a veteran!
Sally: I've played a lot more games than you, at least. Whoa! I think I hooked s big one!
Sonic: Wow.
Maple: Hmm...

Few minutes later:
Sonic: Thats Twenty five in total.
Sally: Well? Is it enough?
Maple: Can we go another hour?
Sally: Sure.
Sonic: (Another hour?)
Sally: But I wanna try something out, so do you care if I free dive? I'm good at swimming in real life.
Maple: Does that matter here?
Sally: Yup! If you're a good swimmer in real life, good at climbing trees, or even just have good reflexes, it makes a difference in game. It's all part of player skill.
Sonic: You're really going underwater?
Sally: Yeah, you wanna come, too?
Sonic: Oh, no, I'm good.
Sally: Okay then. I'm off!
Maple: Good luck!
Sally swims underwater.
Maple: Sonic, do you not like water?
Sonic: Huh? What makes you say that?
Maple: Well, it looks like you're afraid of it.
Sonic: No! No, it's not that I'm afraid of water! Hehe...
Sally was underwater, as she sees a gate in the distance. She cuts the chains out as she goes inside.

10 minutes later:
Maple: I wonder if she's okay? She's been down there for like ten minutes.
Sonic: She'll be fine.
Sally comes out from the water.
Sonic: Oh, there she is.
Maple: Welcome back! How was it?
Sally: Got some! A big haul!
Sally drops a bunch of scales on the floor.
Maple: Whoa! You're letting me have all these?
Sally: I don't need em. You can just help me out sometime in exchange.
Maple: Alright! Whenever you need!
Sally: *Whispers* Say, Maple... You have a crush on Sonic, don't you?
Maple: *Whispers* Huh? A crush on Sonic? I- I... I mean, he's cool and nice, but...
Sally: Hehe.
Maple: Oh, come on!
Sonic: Something wrong?
Maple: Oh, nothing!
Sally: Anyway, guys, I found a small cave at the bottom of the lake.
Sonic: A small cave?
Maple: I wonder if I can get down there?
Sally: With zero agility, I doubt you can swim. Guess I'll just have to do it alone.
Sonic: Alone?
Maple: Right now?
Sally: Not quite. Once I raise my level and swimming skill a bit. Which is why...
Maple: Okay! Let's come back here everyday then! That's how I'll pay you back!
Sonic: Everyday, huh? If it's for her to level up more, than I guess.
Sally hugs Sonic and Maple.
Sally: I know you two would say that!
Maple: Oh, please!
Sonic: Hehe.

Few days later
Sally swims underwater as she sees a gate. Sally comes back up.
Sally: How long was I under?
Maple: A whole 40 minutes!
Sonic: (40 minutes? Wow, it says that I can only stay underwater for 20 minutes, but I can't swim.)
Sally: Great! I mapped out the area, so I think I might be ready! Seeing as how I advanced to swimming x and diving x, that's probably the highest I can get for now. It'll get ugly if I can't beat the boss within 20 minutes.
Maple: What if I message you using the friend function after 20 minutes? So you know the time.
Sally: Nice idea, Maple! Could you?
Maple: Leave it to me!
Sally: I'm counting on you!
Sonic: So you're going there by yourself?
Sally: Yeah. Hmm? Are you worried?
Sonic: What? Well, I mean...
Sally grabs Sonic's hand.
Sally: Come on, let's do it together!
Sonic: What?! Wait, wait, wait! I can't swim!
They both go underwater.
Maple: Can't swim? Uh oh, this must be bad for Sonic.
Sonic and Maple holds their breath as Sally holds Sonic's hand cause he can't swim.
Sonic and Sally goes into the gate as they got above the water.
Sally: There's air! Lucky me! Sonic, you okay?
Sonic: Yeah, it's just I can't swim!
Sally: Then just use your tornado thing to swim.
Sonic: You actually might be right.
Sally: Hehe.
A sudden shake starts happening as a big monster was below them.
Sally: Oh? Now that's what I'm talking about!
Sally goes down.
Sonic: Wait! Oh man. Just gotta hold my breath for twenty minutes.
Sonic uses his tornado to swim underwater where Sally is. They both see the water monster as it was coming for them.

Sonic and Sally dodges the attack as Sally slashes the monster.
Sonic: (Sonic Wind!)
Sonic releases multiple waves as it hits the monster.
Sally: (Wind Cutter!)
Sally sends a Wind Cutter as it hits the monster's tail. Sonic shoots energy blasts at the monster as it was after Sally. Sally keeps dodging the monster as she gets on it and stabs the monster again and again.
Sonic: (I gotta help her!)
Sonic uses his tornado to got to the monster. Sonic uses his Aura Punch as Sally slashes the monster.
The monster moves around as it uses smoke.
Sally: Water Ball!
Sally shoots Water Ball to clear out the smoke. Sonic and Sally gets on the monster as he was staying on.
Sonic: Aura Punch!
Sally: Powet Attack!
They both used their techniques as it doubles the damage on the monster.
Sally: (So much for air.)
Sally looks over to Sonic as he was losing air.
Sally: (Sonic!)
Sonic: (Gh! I can't hold on much longer!)
Sally tries to go to Sonic, but the monster shoots smoke as they were separated. The monster was fires a big beam out of it's mouth to Sally, but she dodges it as it made a big explosion.
Sonic: (Ahh!)
Sonic gets hit by the rocks as he was stuck.
Sally looks over to Sonic as he was stuck from the rock.
Sally: (Sonic!)
Sonic cuts the rock as the monster shoots the beam at Sonic. Sally swims over to Sonic as she grabs him out of the beam.
Maple: They're not answering. Will they be okay?
Sonic and Sally dodges the beams from the monster.
Sonic: (Alright, this one gotta work!)
Sally: (Calm down! Focus!)
Sonic gets on Sally as Sally swims towards the monster. Sally dodges the lasers as the monster shoots another one, but Sally dodges it. Sonic uses his aura into his body as he jumps off of Sally.
Sonic: (Aura Spin!)
Sonic spins like a ball with blue aura as he goes inside the monster's mouth.
Sally: (Sonic!)
Blue explosion comes from inside the monster as Sonic gets out of his mouth.
Sonic looks at Sally as they both synchronized their attack.
Sonic: (Sonic Wind!)
Sally: (Wind Cutter!)
Sonic and Sally releases multiple as they turned into yellow, making in s Yellow Cutter! As it hits the monster. The monster stops moving as it disappears. Sonic sees Sally going down as he grabs Sally.
Sonic: (Gotta hurry!)
Sonic uses his tornado to swim all the way up to the surface and land on a rock.
Sonic: Hey, Sally, you okay?
Sally gets up.
Sally: Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks, Sonic.
Sonic: Hehe, no big deal. You saved me from that beam.
Sally: Man, having to play serious really takes it out of me!
Sonic: Same here!
Sally: Well, we won, so whatever!
Sonic: Yeah, nice job.
Sonic reaches his hand out to Sally as Sally grabs his hand.
Sonic: Oh, there's only one treasure.
Sonic then learns a new skill.
Sonic: Hmm? DoubleTeam Makes a clone out of yourself. It can advance to multi. That's cool.
Sally: Sonic, look! A chest!
Sonic: Well, open it!
Sally opens the chest as she gets her new weapon and cloths.
Maple: Wow! You look totally awesome!

Sonic: Looks nice on you, Sally.
Sally: Right?!
Maple: You two had me worried there! I thought you two lost and got sent to the starting zone!
Sally: I'm sorry!
Sonic: Hehe.
Sally: Now that I've got a bunch of skills, I can party with you two at the next event!
Maple: Yeah! Let's all enter together!
Sonic: Alright! The ultimate trio is here!
Sally: Hmm? An announcement.
Dorazou: We'll soon release the second level of content! In order to reach it, you must clear an exclusive dungeon! For further details, read the announcement on the site! That's all for now!
Sonic: Second level, huh?
Maple: What's "second level" mean?
Sally: The level we're on right now is level one. It means there's another world to come just as big as this one.
Sonic: Wow, cool.
Maple: You mean there're more incredible monsters out there?!

Sally: I didn't get any boots, so I need to go buy some! Let's go back to the city, guys!

Sally runs off with Maple.
Sonic: Hehe.
Sonic then notices his shuriken was glowing.
Sonic: Huh? It's glowing. What does it do? Never mind, I should get back.
Sonic runs off to the others.
