Eleven
'I should have known Lucifer would convince mom, to wear a left behind dress from one of his one-night stands.' Thankfully I didn't need a change from my chosen outfit. However I did 'borrow' silver stilettos, Lucifer said a woman he couldn't care less to remember her name forgot to claim them. Conveniently I shared a shoe size the same as hers.
'Breaking in heels is the least fun part.'
I wobble, accomodating my ankles and feet to ensure I'm use to them, Both of my eyes stay focus on the balance of my feet.
" it's though I'm watching Bambi taking his first time steps, after just being born. You're a new born foal Betty, darling. Amongst the den of wolves. Here! Your Devil in shining armour is here to your rescue."
Lucifer came to my aid offering out his arm for me to hold. 'How is it I can't walk in simple heels. Embarrassing.' I see mom casing out Lux, eventually her eyes land on Lucifer and I wandering to where she stood.
" I found our Perp. He's over there, not at all looking suspicious. You were right. Carver is a man who'll never miss a good rager, if women are there. Betty, baby. This will be boring, why don't you go have some fun? Yeah." Mom says, endorsing the idea and fact of enjoying myself while she and Lucifer intend to confront him. I am taken from her sudden encouragement, but music was luring me in on the dance floor I'll admit. " What's the plan, detective?"
While I'm listening to mom, tell her devised plan, an older gentleman decided I was his tonight's target of choice. He wore a disorderly unkempt and flat-ironed cheap light grey suit. " Hey, there. Ladies."
I 'oh' at his roaming hand, goosebumps forming on my body. 'His touch feels invasive compared to Lucifers.' He did an awful job of keeping a flirtatious stare.
" Are you girls from Tennessee? Cause you're the only tens I see."
That was horrendous to listen to, real bad. Behind me is the returning sound to the exact sound of an incandescent lowly growl I heard, while Joe Hanson was arrested and thrown. I clandestinely take a step close with in reach of Lucifer. " Oh, You poor soul. Does that actually work? No I didn't think so."
He retorted back. It's then I realised Lucifer had placed his arm, resting his fingers on my the lower region of my abdomen, proprietorial and possessive.
My heart begins pounding, working to pump out blood that rushes to my system, at how many men were wanting a favour in trying to use terrible pick up line on me and mom.
" I think the use of these dresses is back firing. And our friend, over there, Carver has made us." I push my way through the bodies, saying 'sorry' for disrupting their dancing, to follow carver thinking I could have him cooperate since he didn't know of me. How wrong was i to have that as a thought.
My eyes went wider than before, he revealed a gun carelessly aiming it directly to me. One minute I have my hands out, on instinct to block him. The next he all of a sudden bounced foreword, keeping an arm sharply against my neck. Barrel of his gun resting on my head. My hands start sweating, the counter intuitive grip and feeling of wanting to escape danger strong.
" Stay back. S..Stay back. I need to go. I need to go. Now!"
Patrons inside Lux scatter for safety, I scratch carvers skin hoping to get his arm off. I am unsuccessful. Lucifer's eyes were close to pitch black, there is a visible change of colour.
" Give me the gun, Carver. Release her, before I make any irrational choices which will affect the detectives case on You." There is a second where I imagine Lucifers eyes alter to red. But I stay quiet, carvers arm tightens.
" I don't.. I don't wanna hurt her, man. I will, though. If I don't get what I want! Move out of the way. I'll consider letting her go, if you do."
He ordered, pointing his pistol to Lucifer.
" I'm afraid that's not possible. You see you've made a mistake in judgment, on your behalf here, taking hostage the girl I care deeply for. I do have another option. How about a broken back? Hmm. How does that sound for you?"
I am freed of carvers hold, Mom stealthily doing a disarming manoeuvre on him which in turn made the gun drop on the floor. Lucifer is the one to have caught me, as I stumbled out of carvers hold, and solicitously held my arms. he grazes his finger tips, where the the gun was pushed on, staring daggers at Carvers head on his piano.
" You don't understand! You have to let me go! They're gonna kill her now! You just killed Lindsey!"
That sounds formidable. Mom applied more pressure on his arm, locking in on getting more information. " Who? Who are they?" She presses. I avoid looking at carver. " The people who took her." She is being held for ransom. I see mom, for a brief period, lessen her grip but choose to keep her mouth closed.
'That has to be a way we can help save Lindsay. Surely.'

Mom is interrogating Carver, now in Lucifers penthouse. Lux had closed for the evening, since his act scared away people of wanting to have fun. I kept a safe few feet from him Incase he wanted to try and shoot me, again.
'That is the second time I've had a gun pointed at me. I am magnet for everything deem-able of danger and which could kill me.'
Lucifer is pouring an iced watered down glass of whiskey. I hadn't left his side, since over a hour ago.
" Feel free to make use of my shower, Darling. It's on the right, Not hard to miss at all." He told me, grin on his face. I expected for him to make a snide retort, of him wanting to join me. He didn't. 'Seems like this evenings events are effecting his perverted comments. I'm grateful, because I would be blushing too much.'
I think. I stopped, feeling as Lucifer surveys where my once injured and wounded bullet impacted shoulder is, gracing a finger over the place of amenadiels healing feather. It's seared in my blood.
There's a pause. His eyes grew harder, recognition brandishing and settling in both as if realising a new piece of enlightened detail. I detach Lucifers hand, a scrutinised feeling of perception under his gaze to which I move away from him. I use the steps leading to Lucifer ensuite and amazement fills my face.
' I am impressed. This shower is bigger than my whole bedroom in one.' I undress, taking off my undergarments. First my pale cream bra then my matching bottoms.
Turning on the faucet, I let the hot water run for a few seconds and step in, letting water access my tensed muscles.
'I can always count on showers. They haven't failed me once. Not ever.' Resting my face the palms of my hand, images of carver's gun held to the side of my temple start to flash.
'I am sick of feeling useless. Inferior.'
I want to be stronger and not have these problems. With my life being in consistent danger. I don't wish to be this girl, No more. Who needs saving from bullies, Maniacs wielding guns.
Stepping out I grab an expensively made designer towel, to dry off. I gripped the towel, walking before a steamed-covered one way bathroom mirror.
I furrowed my eyebrows, not hearing voices in the foyer. " Lucifer. Mom?" I called out. There is no reply. " Mom?"
Gone. Both are gone. And carver is gone too. 'What in the world. Where did they go off to? Leaving me here alone.'
I go to yell, again, jumping in shock. Maze, kicking up her feet on Lucifers leather seat, eats pieces of apple from her blade.
" Lucifer ask me to be your personal body guard. While he, and that detective mother of yours, go after those idiots who've kidnapped that human Lindsey. Don't worry, you and me will be just fine."
Mazikeen states, dismissing my dumbfounded reaction. I glance down, aware of how little I was wearing leaving much to the imagination. I had thrown one of Lucifers red, and black, satin night-gowns on.
" It's nothing I haven't seen before, Don't you worry. Besides the point here." Maze got up, she twirls her razor sharp steel blade. I am Vigilant, at how evident she is to take the time in reading my body language. " Relax. I won't hurt you, El." Her voice is startling low, soft.
" I won't do that to Lucifer. Much as I hate how he is, with you. You're good for him. Too good. It's a shocker, really, he has punished you. Like this. Placing you in Lucifers path. The Devil."
'I'm not following. What is she saying? By he?' I don't let the thought marvel in my brain, as a rapture of searing hot pain shot up my left leg. I cried out, at how painful it felt, collapsing. It started to really hurt.
" Elli! Hey. Hey. What is it? Tell me. Tell me!"
I began whimpering, only to have it start intensifying. intuitively I placed a hand on my calve, belligerent and violent lesions appear.
" It's started. The Bond." Maze, assuming I couldn't hear her mumbles, stated. 'The bond? Ow. Son of a biscuit. It hurts. Why do I feel this all of a sudden. Ouch.' Scrambling to get her phone, maze helps getting me off the floor.
" that isn't possible, though. It's accelerating. Motherfuck.. Ellie. Ellie. I need you to Listen. I know this is all confusing, for you, right now. Everything is going to be okay. You hear me? I need you to go and lie down. you're paler than you were a minute ago."
I began to feel faint, as if I was seconds from passing out from pain. I rest my head on the cushion, to Lucifers couch, with maze dialling a number assuming which I assume is his. My conscious escapes out of my mind and body. 'I am feeling tired.'
" Ell. Ellie. Betty! Stay awake! Hey, Wake up."
Maze exclaims, lightly patting my cheek.
'Im so sleepy. I'll just rest my eyes for a little while.'

Third Point of view
Lucifer, limp in his step, descends the steps to walk over to where he leaned over taking a bottle of liquor. " What happened?" Maze grits her teeth, stalking over to her boss and creator.
'He should have been here for Betty. Doesn't he not know the risk he took being away?' She thinks; rueful. Lucifer, satisfaction etched in his eyes, poured his drink.
" Oh, you'll never guess. The detective, she shot me. I healed, but it still relevantly wounded the hell out of me, hold the pun. Though. The oddest thing is... It felt double edged. The pain did. I can't exactly describe the feeling. Not the pain I enjoy."
Mazikeen, reeling from Lucifers story of being shot and bleeding, pushes it aside. Getting in his face. " You are an Idiot. This is dangerous. Not just for You, but for Betty. The pain you felt, it was Her. When you were shot by that detective, Chloe, she felt it. Ellie Felt it."
Maze seethes to how irresponsible, reckless, Lucifer is.
" And you know why that is happening. You just won't admit it to yourself." He sighed. Maze isn't wrong, he knew the exact reason and truth. " I don't know what on Earth you are referring to, Mazikeen."
Nothing could, or would, happen with Betty. How could he act on an incredibly selfish desire to be with Betty. His soul aches for her. He wouldn't subject her to the pain, of associating and loving someone like he. Love. Such an awfully cruel, sweet, word.
Woeful is his heart, full of distorted emotion, which beats and thumps fast for her. It was simply an impossible dream he'd had to crush before he could imagine more.
" May I remind you who is the boss, here. Mazikeen. I appreciate your watchful eye on Betty, while I dealt with those Kidnappers. But know your place. I would like for you remember that piece of information."
Maze, eyes ablaze glaring, Tightens her jaw.
' He doesn't deserve a sweet girl like Betty. But I hate to admit, he's right. She is Human. She needs to live her life with normality.'
JASMINE SPEAKS;
This chapter is shorter, as it was the end of this episode I was writing for. How is it Betty is always ending up being the target of mad men using guns, and shooting at her.
Lucifer getting real mad at Carver for making Betty a hostage was a dumb move on his end.
How did you like Lucifer and Betty in this chapter? Maze with Betty? I might have made some alterations on the whole story-line with Lucifer being shot, being injured, to fit Betty in the whole 'Vulnerability/connection' plot.
It'll be further explored as the seasons develop.
