So i designed an Axolotl character for mah bruh Sora and she named him Louis

Im proud of how he turned out honestly. It was my first time drawing an axolotl

Keep in mind i based his anatomy off of my chibi furry style so he has "paws", digi legs, and overall looks pretty "fluffy". His style and overall appearance was very heavily influenced by the youtuber InkyFace and her axolotl character.

A lot of people tried to go with all these crazy colors for axolotl characters but i tried to stay with a more acurrate pink/reddish color pallete and a bright color detail.

I wanted him to have light brown/tan-gold eyes from when i first started experimenting with his design in my head, but i kinda winged his colors even though i had his patterns and markings in mind. So i played around with a lot of colors for his spots and tongue. I tried green, purple, and light blue but none of them really stuck with me.

Then i tried light yellow and it really brought his colors together. It stands out but isnt eye-blinding or out of place, and it paired well with his eye color. Plus it made his overall color pallete really nice warm colors and i thought it looked really nice since i dont use yellow often.

I didnt bother shading so it would be easier to see his markings and colors

But hes cute

Oh and i wanted to know if you guys do or dont like to read my artist rambling whenever i post art, if you would rather not hear it thats fine, ill tone it down.
