Chapter 33
Peter & His Princess
Alicia was abandoned at birth.
Even her parents didn't want her, but she learned to fend for herself. Alicia learned the ups and downs of the cruel and harsh world. Growing up alone taught her independence and she was able to make something of herself.
She learned how to hunt for food, and how to find shelter. Everything she did, she did for herself.
Because if she didn't, who would?
Nobody was there to rescue her. She grew up around criminals, pirates, the worst of the worst. And even those criminals taught her things that a lady maybe shouldn't know.
She eventually learned how to climb trees, how to sword fight like no other, and even how to outsmart the kingdom guards when she stole food. Although she was taught many things by her scummy friends and her instincts, there was something she never learned what to do.
And that was how to love.
It was a bizarre topic to her. Even after getting engaged to Jack Sparrow, she didn't know if that was really love or just her looking for someone to be with so she wouldn't ever be lonely again.
But when the curse hit and she was swept away to Storybrooke, Alicia was hit with something new.
The love of a family.
Despite having Regina and the Charming's affection, she still didn't understand what true love was.
She and Peter Pan had an interesting relationship that she quite didn't understand.
The more she said she hated him, the more it sounded like a lie to her.
She scoffed. Emotions were an interesting topic to her. She didn't understand them quite well and she didn't know if she ever could.
But as she sat in front of Peter Pan and waited for him to pay attention to her, she felt tingles as she tugged on the sleeve of his shirt.
"Peter."
"Hm..." He mumbled. Alicia frowned and crossed her arms. She was getting annoyed and desperately wanted some form of entertainment.
"Pay attention to me!" She snapped. Peter rolled his eyes and turned to face the bored princess.
"I want my gift now," she said. She stuck her hand out and close her eyes, awaiting her present. Peter rolled his eyes but nonetheless, pulled out a medium-sized box, one that fit perfectly on Alicia's lap.
"Here."
Alicia smiled widely before clutching her gift tightly. She ripped the packaging quickly and squealed when she pulled out a new spellbook.
"It's beautiful!" She exclaimed as she examined the detailed cover. She traced the engraved gold lining and gave Peter a big smile, one that made his stomach flutter.
"Do you like it?" He asked, even though he knew the answer.
Alicia nodded gleefully and began to skim through the pages.
"Are you going to teach me some things?" She questioned and Peter nodded.
"Of course. As long as I'm not on the receiving end of your spells."
Alicia promised not to hurt him. Even though she was still a little upset about how he ripped her away so suddenly from her twin.
For Peter, there was an ulterior motive for giving Alicia that gift. Peter figured if he could teach her more defensive magic, he could truly defend herself against anything. Pan was sure the villain he had run into in Wonderland would be back, whether it was in three days or three weeks.
And he was determined to keep the princess as safe as possible.
He rose to his feet and turned to a distracted Alicia.
"Come now, your grace. I'm going to teach you a thing or two," he said. Ali crooked her brow at him but didn't reject his offer. While she knew Regina would teach her anything she wanted, she also knew the queen wasn't known for her patience.
Alicia hoped Peter Pan would be different.
~
"You're a dick!"
"And you are utterly USELESS!" Peter screamed back at Alicia's insults. He gingerly held one of her hands and examined the cuts she had earned. Alicia hissed in pain as Pan carefully healed her.
"You weren't supposed to flick your wrist!" He scolded when he finished one hand. He grabbed her other and began the healing process he had tried to teach her.
"You didn't say that!" She fought back as she choked down a weakened cry.
"Yes, I did!"
Peter slightly shoved the princess away after healing her. If he would've known Alicia would've hurt herself, he would have never suggested healing magic.
He decided to simply practice the basics. Alicia hadn't used her magic for a while, she was rusty. She didn't confirm it but she also didn't deny it. Peter knew her pride wouldn't let her ask for his help which is why he had to force his way through to heal her.
"I could've done that myself," Alicia grumbled as she stared down at healed hands. She turned up her nose and scoffed.
"I don't want to do this anymore. I miss Regina's lessons! At least she would reward me whenever I did something correctly," the princess said as she crossed her arms. She remembered when Regina had first started teaching Alicia magic. The young girl didn't respond well to criticism or praise, but she absolutely loved being rewarded with baked treats.
And once Peter became aware of how to motivate the princess, he knew exactly what to do.
"Okay then. Let's try this again. If you can complete a simple summoning spell, I'll reward you."
This caught Alicia's attention and she suddenly got a burst of energy.
"What will you give me?" She asked excitedly as she stood to her feet again.
"It's a secret."
She frowned at Peter's response but her curiosity and need to have it all won in the end. She agreed and waited for instructions.
"Summon a fruit. Any fruit of your choice," he said. Alicia nodded her head rapidly and stretched her arms. She began to concentrate as best as she could. She imagined the ripest mango to ever exist and she finally began to unleash a cloud of smoke. Her eyes were tight as smoke covered her hand as the other swirled around wielding her magic.
And to her happy surprise, a mango appeared in her hand.
Alicia cheered and threw the mango on the ground viciously, the fruit exploding on contact.
Peter smiled slightly and cleared his throat.
"Give me my gift!"
And so Peter did.
It was a soft kiss and it took the princess by surprise again. Her eyes were wide as she froze in the same spot the mango remains were.
Once Peter pulled away, he couldn't look her in the eye. Instead, he picked up the spellbook and began to look for a new spell to practice.
"Let's move on, shall we?" He muttered.
Alicia hummed. Her eyes were still wide from shock but she quickly regained composure and cleared her throat.
"Fine by me."
And she ignored the burning sensation she suddenly got in the pit of her stomach.
~
Alicia knew the rules of the royal court. She knew it was tradition for her to be set up with another royal or someone of power. But she also knew Regina would never force her to be with someone she didn't want to.
But regardless, Alicia had never shown interest in anyone after the curse. She felt she had done it all, being Jack Sparrow's fiance and all. She was done with the romantic aspect of life.
And yet she began to feel the same burning ball in her stomach whenever she was around Pan. The same feeling she got when she had met Jack.
She didn't like it.
She wanted it to stop by every means possible but she couldn't prevent it. Alicia wanted to both step on Peter's neck and kiss him all at once. It was both aggression and lust rolled into one booming emotion.
And Alicia wanted to stop it at all means possible.
She sat next to Peter as they ate their dinner with the rest of the lost boys. She joked around with Felix as she made fun of his long, growing hair and he pushed her away.
"I can cut it later, if you'd like. I used to cut Jack's hair back in the day," she said and Felix agreed. She didn't notice Peter rolling his eyes at the mention of her ex-fiance.
Once dinner ended, Felix had found her a pair of scissors and a comb before sitting in front of her. Alicia cleared her throat and began to run her fingers through his hair, trying to get all the tangles out before combing out what she couldn't.
"How short do you want it?" She asked as she tossed the comb away. Felix shrugged.
"Not a lot, I suppose," he said. Alicia nodded and began to snip. She made polite conversation with the lost boy, despite him being of little words. She didn't take it to heart and did most of the talking, as she usually did.
"And you're done! Here, take a look," she said as she handed him her hand mirror. Felix complimented her skills and thanked her softly. While he didn't admit it directly, he was incredibly pleased his hair wasn't itching the back of his neck anymore.
Once Felix had gone off to do his own thing, Alicia began to stand up, only to be stopped by Pan himself.
"Cut my hair too," he said and Alocoa crossed her arms.
"I'm sorry, I don't have any room for you in my schedule. Come back in 5 years," she said grudgingly before stabbing the scissors into the dirt. She was about to leave when Peter asked her again, this time promising to give her another gift in exchange for her services. Alicia was intrigued.
She secretly hoped it was another one of his kisses, although she would never in a million years admit it out loud.
She took a deep breath and turned to him.
"Fine. Come sit."
And he did. Peter patiently waited at her feet and Alicia got to work. Just like with Felix, she ran her hair through Peter's surprisingly soft hair. But the feeling was different. She felt a burn at her stomach and she quickly tried to get rid of the unwanted feeling.
She began to run the comb threw his brown locks, not a single tangle insight. She was cautious not to pull on his hair and Peter could tell by how tedious her movements were. He smirked and crooked an eyebrow.
"Don't be shy, love, I don't mind a little hair pulling," he teased and Alicia scowled. She cleared her throat and told him to shit up.
And as she began to snip, she could feel Peter Pan relaxing at her touch.
Alicia didn't ever want that moment to end.
