Chapter 16

Alicia's Fate

It was a sunny day. Alicia was allowed outside and she was actually thankful for Peter letting her soak in the sun. She sat alone on a log, soaking in as much sun as she possibly could before she was thrown back into the tent prison.

"What are you doing?" Felix asked from his spot next to her. The blond was granted the job of watching over Alicia and making sure she ate her breakfast. He was not pleased.

"The sun feels nice. Would be even better if you would let me go swimming," she muttered but Felix shook his head.

"Pan said you aren't allowed to leave camp yet. He wouldn't want to lose his main attraction," he mused as he watched the other lost boys rumble.

Alicia frowned but didn't question anything. For the past two days, Ali had heard side comments about her presence being there. The more she questioned, the more Pan ignored her. She knew if she continued to question everything she would never get a straight answer. In result, she decided to keep her mouth shut for the most part. She wasn't looking forward to the future.

Alicia nudged Felix and handed him a hairbrush and a couple of ties, as she did every morning. Ali moved to sit in front of the lost boy, her back towards him. Felix tried to brush the girl's curly hair but failed. Alicia had tried to tell him multiple times that curly hair was never meant to be brushed but Felix wouldn't pay attention.

She grunted when he accidentally yanked too hard on her hair. He apologized softly but clicked his tongue.

"Your hair is more tangled today than usual," Felix commented. Alicia huffed.

"It doesn't help that all you have to wash with is a bar of handmade soap. We ran out, by the way," Alicia said as the boy began to braid a crown with her hair. Felix shrugged, not caring much. He was too focused on braiding her hair.

"I'll tell Slightly to make more," he muttered as he decorated the now finished crown with fresh flowers the younger boys had picked. When finished, Felix stood up and left Alicia alone as he always did. He walked off to find Peter, who had been watching carefully as Felix and Alicia interacted.

"We're out of soap, apparently, and Alicia has requested to be taken to the river later," Felix said. Peter hummed and glanced at the blond.

"I think it's time to take her to Skull Rock."

"I believe so, Pan."

Alicia was upset.

Peter Pan dragged her through the jungle alone, claiming he was going to show her something. Ali figured this was how she was going to die.

"If you're going to murder me, do it quickly and silently. I'm tired and want to sleep," Ali snapped as she leaped over a fallen log. She heard Pan chuckle from behind her.

"I'm not going to murder you. You think about these things too much."

"Well, when you drag a girl into a dark jungle, she has to assume this is her last day alive."

Pan smirked. He was amused by a lot of the things Alicia said and did. He was beginning to grow accustomed to being around her.

"You're just a downright firecracker, aren't ya?" Pan mused. Alicia shrugged and toppled over when her leg caught onto a branch. Pan watched as she fell to the ground. He stared down at her with a click of his tongue before lifting her back up to her feet. Ali grunted and shoved him away.

"I don't need your help."

"Then stay on the ground," Peter said and pushed Alicia back to the jungle floor with another shove. She yelped and snarled at him, having the urge to trip him. But she decided against it.

Alicia continued to walk with Pan, navigating through the jungle. She could finally see a breakthrough between the thickness of the trees. They came to a beautiful cliff overseeing the ocean. She was in awe as she peered over the edge, looking down on the angry waves crashing against the rocks.

"It's stunning," she breathed as the colors of the night danced with the light from a few spare fairies she spotted flying by. Peter suddenly yanked her back from the cliff.

"Hang on tight, princess, we have to fly from here on," he simply said before he wrapped an arm around her waist and shot up into the sky.

Alicia screeched as the air was knocked out of her, her grip on Peter tightening to a new extent, she nearly made him faint. The two flew to Skull Rock, a place Felix would describe as a damnation.

Alicia was glad when she was placed back on a firm surface and she slowly sat down, concentrating on not puking.

"Walk with me, princess," Peter said as he walked into Skull Rock, showing her the lost treasure that scattered the rocky surface.

"Why are we here? Nobody ever answers my questions," Ali said, not taking her eyes off the pretty gold that gleamed.

"In all due time," he responded.

"That's what you say every time."

Peter ignored her and they came to a towering hourglass. It sat on a stump of golden skulls. The golden sand inside was still. Completely frozen. But it did seem like the gold was a faded color, as it didn't have the same sparkle as its surroundings.

"What is this?"

"My immortality. As long as it's still, I will live on forever," Peter answered. Alicia scrunched her nose in distaste.

"Who would want to live forever? It just seems like a lot of work," she retorted and Peter sucked in a breath, growing annoyed at the babbling girl.

"Girls talk too much," he whispered to himself as Alicia continue to rant on why living forever sounded like a bore.
She was 5 minutes into her argument on the living particles and staying in a single age when Pan turned to her suddenly.

"Enough!" He snapped, waving his hand. Alicia's voice stopped, and she came to discover he had taken her voice away. She glared at him and as much as she wanted to scream at him to return her voice, she couldn't. She was forced into silence.

"You have been asking a lot of questions in the short time you have been here. If you don't shut up, I will keep your voice. Nod if you understand."

Alicia internally growled but she had no choice but to nod. Peter was pleased.

"You can offer great things to this island. More than you could ever imagine. This island, Neverland, runs on pure magic. As you can see, the sand inside the hourglass is fading out."

Alicia wanted to ask questions. But she could only stare as Pan continued.

"Now I'm ready to make a deal with you."

Alicia wanted to throw her head back and let out the most obnoxious laugh she could create. She wanted to laugh in Pan's face for believing she would ever want to make a deal with him, someone who probably had relations to the devil.

Instead, all she did was stomp her feet and shake her head.

Peter Pan snickered but continued to talk.

"You stay here in Neverland with me and listen to my every word without disobeying-"

Alicia growled.

"-and never leave the island-"

She stomped again.

"And allow me to drain you of your magic to help the island."

Then she understood. It was fairly known through the realms that Alicia had a big amount of unlocked power that she had yet to learn how to manifest, control, and wield. She was still learning, with Regina and Rumpelstiltskin teaching her. She knew it was part of the reason why the kingdoms wanted her to sit on the throne one day. If a powerful woman like herself ruled, nobody would dare threaten the Enchanted Forest ever again.

Alicia crossed her arms and turned her back on him. Peter stared at her, and with another wave of his hand, her voice returned to her. Ali gagged as she felt the sudden force of her own voice returning.

"And if I refuse?" She asked simply. Pan leaned closer to her.

"Then I'll kill your family and friends. Starting with that annoying Regina and ending with that insufferable Jack Sparrow."

"Well aren't you just a little bitch," Ali immediately responded, her manners flying away as she turned to glare at him.

"I've been called worse," he stated. Alicia's piercing blue eyes dug a hole into his skull and she wished he would just drop dead.

"So, do we have a deal?"

Alicia scoffed. What kind of damned deal is this, she snapped to herself.

"You know if I was to stay here, being used as a bloody battery, people will begin to notice. The princess-to-be of the kingdom has been missing for a while. They'll come for blood, your blood specifically. And my family will rip you apart piece by piece."

Peter smirked at her threat. To him, it was an empty, vague threat that meant nothing.

"Except, you won't have any family left. Isn't it a little concerning that Regina hasn't come to rescue you? They left you here alone to fend for yourself. Afraid of the monster you will one day become. After all, love, you and I are alike in more ways than you think," Peter mused. He penetrated dark thoughts into her head even though he already knew she would stay. She was too good to allow anyone to die because of her.

"They are my family. Something you don't have. They will remember me and come for me," Alicia whispered, more or less trying to convince herself now.

"You leave that to me, love," he said softly.

"You ever hear of the Forget-Me-Not spell?" He asked. Ali shook her head but she could guess what the spell did.

"It is a powerful spell, one that will remove any trace of yourself from the kingdom and your family. You will be removed from their memories and their lives."

Peter neared Alicia. He stood right before her, close enough to see panic, pain, and discomfort run through her eyes. He held out his hand.

"Do we have a deal, darling?"

Ali wanted to cry. She wished she could drop dead and simply disappear into the ocean, lost to everyone and everything. Instead, Alicia gripped Peter's hand tightly, sealing the deal, and her fate.

"You're a piece of shit, Pan."

"Right back at you, my love."
