The Next Morning

Alexis's POV

I sit up with a small gasp and panic in my eyes. "It was just a nightmare." I say and try calming down.

"Alexis?" Kakashi says half asleep and see's me in a bit of a panic from my nightmare, he sits up and has me face him. "What happened?" Kakashi asks, giving me his full attention.

"It was just a nightmare." I say and Kakashi looks at me worried. "It felt so real though." I say and Kakashi pulls me closer to him and hugs me.

"Its a very rare occasion for you to get nightmares, what was it about?" Kakashi asks me.

I hug him tightly. "You had left me for another girl, that dream scared me Kakashi, your my guiding light, I don't want you to leave me." I say as tears fall down my face and onto his shoulder.

Kakashi rubs my back. "I won't leave you, your the only one that saved me. So don't worry, that won't ever happen, I promise." Kakashi says to me and I just keep crying.

"It was so real though, it was like my mind was showing me my worst fear." I say and I can sense worry from Kakashi.

"Maybe you should take today off and relax. This is the result of stress and lack of sleep." Kakashi says to me and sits back and removes the tears from my eyes with his thumb. "Don't cry, I'll always be here for you." Kakashi says with a closed eyed smile. "Just breath, I'm gonna get up and get ready, you stay home today and relax."

I nod and he gets up and walks to the bathroom, he gets ready and then walks out to see I haven't moved from my spot. He chuckles and sits next to me on the end of the bed and kisses my forehead.

"Relax." Kakashi says and leaves.

I sigh and get up. I walk to the study room and pull one of my books down and I walk to the living room where Matabi sleeps. I lay on one of the couches and I read my book. I finish reading by noon and I walk back to the study and put my book away. I walk to the kitchen with Matabi following me around.

"Food." She chants.

I laugh at this and I put her food out with some water, she pushes it away.

"I want different food." Matabi says to me.

"Cats." I say and feed her a different type of food, she starts eat and I make myself some lunch. "I should bring some lunch to Kakashi, but he told me to stay home today." I say to myself and make some extra and look at Matabi. "Do you want to go to the Hokage office for a bit to give Kakashi this?" I ask her.

"Kakashi?" She asks and turns in circles of delight. I laugh at this. "I will." Matabi says and I strap the food on her back.

"Don't eat it, that's Kakashi's lunch." I say to her and Matabi nods and poofs.

I walk to the counter and eat my lunch there. Once I finish, I wash my plate and then walk to the living room. I lay on the couch and Matabi poofs next to me. I fall asleep with my head on the arm rest of the couch.

A few hours later I wake up to someone walking in my house, I stay laying down since all the stress of missions has taken a toll on my body.

"Alexis." Kakashi says from the door of our bedroom.

"I'm in the living room." I say and Kakashi walks in to see me on the couch, with Matabi on my side. "I'm not a cat tree you know." I say to her and Matabi purrs in amusement.

"Good thing I'm a chakra beast and not a cat." Matabi says to me.

"I'm not a Chakra Beast tree." I say and she purrs in amusement.

Kakashi chuckles and bends down in front of me. "You look pale." Kakashi says a bit worried and puts his hand on my forehead. "Your burning up." Kakashi says worried.

I look at Matabi. "Can you get off for a few minutes?" I ask her.

"No, I'm comfortable." Matabi says and I sigh.

"I slept all afternoon since I didn't get a good nights sleep last night because of my nightmare, I haven't gone outside today since I read one of my books all morning. I'm usually active so me staying in one place like I used to when I was a kid, is most likely the cause." I say and Kakashi picks me up bridal style, making Matabi fall, he carries me out to the garden and sets me on the ground.

"I hope so." Kakashi says and sits next to me.

I sigh feeling the warm sun touch my skin. Kakashi places his arm around my shoulder and I rest my head on his shoulder.

"You still don't look good." Kakashi says to me a bit worried.

"She's sick, but she won't admit it, because she claims that she doesn't get sick and believes it. During a mission a long time ago, she was like this."

I look over to see Logan. "I'm not sick." I say and Kakashi looks at me worried.

"You might not think so, but if you see yourself, you'll realize it." Logan says to me.

"Alexis." Kakashi says and I sigh.

"I'll be fine, I'm pretty sure its nothing much, but I'll check." I say and stand up.

"Ok." Kakashi says and Logan smirks.

"I'm right this time, you'll see." Logan says to me and I roll my eyes at him making him fume.

I walk into the house and to the bathroom. I check my temperature only to see it's just a little higher than normal. "Just a fever, like I said, it's nothing much." I say and walk back out. "It's just a fever, I'm not sick." I say and Logan smirks.

"I'm still right." Logan says and I throw a book in his face, making him fall backwards off the fence.

"You deserved that." I say and Kakashi nods. "I'm not sick. It's just a minor fever that will pass quickly since my Medical Nin-Jutsu heals any virus in my body in a few hours, it's like Kabuto's jutsu, where his body automatically regenerates new cells quickly, he stole that from me since we were both part of the Medical Core at the time." I say to Kakashi, he nods.

"That's good, I don't like seeing you when your not well, usually your bright and smiling, not paling and frowning." Kakashi says to me as he stands up.

"The reason I get a fever every now and then at least in the past 16 years, is because of my Medical Nin-Jutsu, that and my pride overrides any sickness." I say and Kakashi chuckles as he walks over to me.

We walk inside and leave the back door open to let fresh air in. Kakashi walks me to the living room.

"Get some more rest, I'll be next to you the whole time." Kakashi says to me with a closed eyed smile.

"Wake me if I have a nightmare." I say as I lay down on the couch. (Couch in Media)

"Ok." Kakashi says and sits on the end of the couch, towards my head.

I use one of the pillows as a pillow this time and I fall asleep quickly.

Yeah I know, a lot of sleeping, but when your sick, you need as much rest as you can get so that your body can fight the virus inside you.

Kakashi's POV

Alexis fall's asleep quickly and I sigh and move some hair away from her face.

"Get better." I say and see the stress lines under her eyes. "The stress caused this."

Logan walks in the living room from the back door. "Alexis is stubborn, she won't ask for help, before her twin died, I knew her eyesight was getting really bad but she refused to admit it. She's more stubborn than me and I'm a Hyuga, she's probably more stubborn than Lady Tsunade or Lord Raikage, maybe both combined." Logan says and I nod.

"What are you doing in my house?" I ask him.

"It's Hana's time of the month and I'm keeping my distance in fear she'll throw something at me. My wife is scary." Logan says sulking.

"Get out of my house, Alexis threw that book for a reason." Matabi says and walks toward Logan, making him back up, more and more until he runs.

I chuckle as Matabi jumps up on the couch and lays down next to Alexis protectively.

I read my book and when Matabi see's it she hisses at the book, she take it in her jaws and it burns.

"My book." I say and pull out another copy and continue reading with a few perverted giggles every now and then.

Alexis makes a screwed up face and a small noise and then pulls Matabi to her chest and her face relaxes. Matabi purrs and I raise an eyebrow, feeling a little jealous of the chakra beast.

After a few hours Alexis gets a little restless and I put my hand on her arm, calming her down.

I hear a knock on the front door and Alexis stirs.

"I'll get it." I say to her and she lays back down with a nod.

I get up and walk to the door, I open it to see Shizune.

"Shizune?" I ask confused.

"Where's Alexis, Raido wants to speak with her about the mission that he failed." Shizune says to me.

"She has a fever and is trying to rest, she didn't sleep well last night." I say with concern hidden in my voice.

"I'll be fine, I don't feel as bad as earlier. I'm gonna take an aspirin." Alexis says to me and I see she's a lot less pale. She walks to the kitchen and comes back a minute later.

"I'm gonna come with you." I say and she nods and puts her ninja sandals on and we walk to the hospital.

Alexis's POV

I'm drained, I just want to go back to sleep and get this fever over with.

I walk to Raido's room with Kakashi and Shizune behind me. I knock and walk in.

I walk over to Raido with a calm look. "I finished your mission for you guys. It wasn't hard you know, they were hungry, you could have told them there was food at Hozuki Castle and avoided injury." I say to Raido.

He sulks. "I'm sorry that I was to incompetent to finish the mission." Raido says to me.

"There's nothing to be sorry for, so quit sulking and rest, the sooner your out of here the sooner you can train and finish your missions." I say to him and Raido nods.

"Yes Ma'am. Your just as scary as Lady Tsunade, you know." Raido says to me still sulking.

Kakashi chuckles. "She can be when she tries, the first thing Lady Tsunade said to me when she came back to the Leaf to be Hokage, was a scolding, a big one at that." Kakashi says and that snaps Raido out of his sulking mood.

"I would have given you a scolding as well, but Lady Tsunade covered everything." I say and Kakashi pats my head.

I hold Matabi up. "If you want to pet someone's head, Matabi has been feeling left out, so pet her head." I say and someone bursts in the room, making Matabi jump down in front of me.

"ALEXIS!" Some yells and I get squashed like a bug.

I let out a breath and basically die.

"NO DON'T DIE." The same person says shaking me me up and down, making me hit my head against the floor.

"So dizzy." I say and get dropped.

"SHE'S OK!"

I look to see Kurotsuchi on top of me grinning. "What's going on?" I ask her.

"Follow me, you too Kakashi, Matabi." Kurotsuchi says and pulls me up, Matabi jumps on my shoulder as I get dragged out of the room.

"Like I asked before, what's going on?" I ask and Kakashi follows us.

We get to an area in town and we see, Ao, Chojuro, Kim, Jon, their daughter Julia, Darui, C, Logan, Hana and their twins Jess and Ally, and Akatsuchi.

"I'm so confused." I say and Kakashi nods in agreement.

"We have to welcome six people into the gang." Kim says to me and Jon nods.

"In Konoha?" I ask.

"Yes." Kurotsuchi says and drags me to everyone else.

"Kakashi, Matabi, Hana, Ally, Jess and Julia." Jon says with a calm tone and they all line up.

"Oh that's right, we never officially added Julia, Hana and Kakashi." I say and Kurotsuchi grins. "And it's only a few more months before the vacation." I say and Kim nods.

"Officially added?" Kakashi asks me.

"We are used to just being ten people, two from each country, Wind, Lightning, Fire, Earth, and Water, and normally we just do vacations together, so adding new people is a first for us and Ao said and these exact words to 'If we ever add people to our group, we must formerly add them.' Since he is the oldest, he gets to make the decisions even though I'm the smartest of the group, in my opinion, I think going out for dinner is formal enough as a welcoming." I say and Kurotsuchi and Kim nod in agreement.

"Guys, I think the girls are turning on us, they won't agree with us now." Jon says and Logan nods in agreement as the two back up.

Kurotsuchi hits them on the head and they fall on their behinds. "That's enough our of you two, what kind of example are you setting for your daughters?" Kurotsuchi asks me and Kim nod in agreement.

"I don't sound like that." Ao says to me.

I raise an eyebrow. "How do you know?" I ask him.

"Because I can hear my voice." Ao says to me.

"You love hearing yourself talk?" I say and he scowls at me.

"Stupid Uchiha." He says and I scowl at him.

"I'm anything but stupid, if anyone's stupid, it's you." I say him and everyone backs up as our aura's become visible.

"Not again. This is why we don't have these two anywhere near each other during stuff like this." Logan says paling.

"Jerk." I say and Ao scowls at me.

"Dumbass." He says and I cover Julia's ears.

"The innocent child, don't cuss in front of the girls." I say and Ao scowls at me again.

"It's ok, I'm used to it, Daddy always curses when he trips or something like that." Julia says to me.

Me, and Kurotsuchi look at Jon after we hear a loud Itai. "You got what you deserved." I say and everyone nods.

"Aunt Alexis, Aunt Ksuchi please be nice to daddy." Julia says to us.

We look at her and I jump back just in time to avoid Kurotsuchi. I let out a breath of relief and see poor Julia getting gushed over by Kurotsuchi.

"My daughter is so nice." Jon says and I hit him on the head. "Itai, what was that for shorty?" Jon asks me.

"She asked that because she doesn't know what you do wrong." I say and Kim nods in agreement. "Especially before you and Kim got together." I say and I look at Logan. "You and Jon are almost exactly alike, no wonder you two get along so well." I say and Logan laughs nervously while Hana and Kim laugh. "Who votes no formalities to welcome these six to the gang?" I ask and everyone but Ao raises their hand. "9 against 1 Ao, I win." I say and he scowls at me.

"Our group is lazy, you've become lazy since the war." Ao says to me.

"I bet I could beat you in a fist fight, with your Byakugan activated. In fact, I'll bet 100 ryo on it." I say and Kakashi sweat drops while everyone pulls the six back so they don't get hurt.

"Making bets? Last I checked, the only good luck you had was with card games." Ao says to me.

"And I won't use my Sharigan." I add and Logan pulls the kids and Hana at least 40 meters.

"I don't think this is good." Kakashi says and gets dragged back by Logan and Matabi.

"With out her Sharigan, she's like Lady Tsunade when she uses her fists." Logan says to him.

"Fine, I'll take you up on that bet, in fact, I'll raise it to 200 ryo." Ao says to me with a smirk.

"Ready?" I ask and Ao nods and pulls up his eye patch and activates the Byakugan on his eye.

I smirk and channel my chakra to my fists.

"Go." I say and dodge his attacks with ease and I land a punch to his stomach, making him fly back into the wall.

"Really, is that all you got Alexis Uchiha?" Ao says getting up only to get punched in the chin and fly upwards, I appear above him and I punch him into the ground.

"Are you done already?" I ask him as I see him twitching on the ground.

"So brutal." Jon says and everyone nods.

"Three punches, three, and your down, why did you even accept the bet?" I ask as I heal his injuries. "Oh, I know why, it was your pride of being a veteran, I'm two generations after you Ao, you can't expect to beat me when for one, your hair is turning gray and for two, my generation is stronger than yours." I say and he scowls at me. I finish healing his injuries and I stand up. "You should watch it now, those were external injuries I gave you so you might have a few bruises, I'm surprised I didn't crack your skull." I say and the ten of us, welcome the new six and I finally get to go home.

Kakashi walks beside me as he reads his perverted book. "When we get home, you should get some more rest, you still don't look like you usually do." Kakashi says and I nod.

"Yeah, I'm worn, sometimes, dealing with people who have too much energy just wears me out." I say and we get home and walk inside. Matabi sits on Kakashi's head, because she likes his hair for some reason. "Why does Matabi like your hair?" I ask and touch it, my eyes light up at how soft it is. "So soft." I say and Kakashi laughs nervously.

"That's not on purpose." Kakashi says and we walk into the living room. "Get some rest, I'll be here when you wake up." Kakashi says as we lay on the couch at the end.

I turn towards him and nod. "Wake me up if you notice I'm having a nightmare." I say and Kakashi gives me a closed eyed smile.

"You won't have a nightmare tonight." Kakashi says and I smile and fall asleep from his warmth.
