The next day...

"Are you coming or what?", Johnny asked impatiently, as they stood outside the compound in their suits. Katherine was currently fixing her suit as she felt  that it was too tight for her.

"Damn, this suit is making me uncomfortable.", she commented.

"If you're so uncomfortable with it, then take it off. I wouldn't mind.", he teased, winking at her and smirking.

Katherine blushed but kept a straight face.

"Shut up.", she answered, putting her glasses over her eyes.

"Gosh, you two. Just kiss and be together already.", Sam spoke from behind. He and his sister were dressed up, as well.

The two older agents gave each other a once-over and rollrd their eyes.

"Pfft, no way.", Katherine etated, earning an eyeroll from her partner.

"Where are you four?", a voice came from the other end of their earpiece.

"We're at the research center, Chief. We're gonna inspect a room that Pernham exited from.", Johnny replied.

"I see. Be careful out there. We'll be watching.", Chief Smith told them and he hung up. 

"Okay, so obviously, there are cameras. Two by the entrance, six scattered inside and one for every corner of the corridors.", he spoke, and Katherine nodded.

"There are approximately 7 rooms inside: the Biology lab, the Chemical lab, the storage room, the two restrooms, the security room and the room I told you Pernham exited suspiciously.", Johnny added.

"Where is that room located?", Katherine asked.

"It's a few meters away from the Biology lab. Plus I've noticed that there was some sort of ID scanning device before you could get in.", he replied.

"So, what's the plan, Mr. Johnny?", Sarah asked.

"Sarah, I want you to check what's in the storage room. Sam, you try to check any recordings from two weeks ago. I don't believe Maxwell.", he spoke, and the twins nodded.

"You and I will go check that specific room. Now, off we go.", he mused to Katherine, who nodded in response.

She didn't understand why she felt turned on when Johnny was being dominant like this.

'Shut up, stupid brain. Focus.', she scolded herself.

They all made their way to the side of the entrance. Johnny took out the wristwatch Agent Milton gave him a few days back.

"Ready? Grab on to me, guys.", he stated.

He swiped the wristwatch and true enough, it released a force field that made them all appear invisible.

"This is really cool.", Sam said in awe, gazing at the bubble-like substance that surrounded them.

They reached the entrance, and required some ID. It was a good thing Johnny brought his.

"All right. Before we split up, let's jack all these cameras.", Katherine said, and they all nodded. Katherine got out a special equipment that shut off the power to a electronic device when placed infront of it.

They approaced every camera, and finally, they were finished.  Johnny swiped the wristwatch again, making the force field disappear.

"Okay, guys. You know what to do. As soon as you're done, meet us outside at our hiding place earlier. Understood?", Johnny asked, and the kids nodded, heading off to look for the storage and security rooms.

"Follow me.", he said, turning the opposite direction.

As they walked along the corridors, Katherine stopped and gazed at the two different laboratories. The technology and equipment they used amazed, yet frightened her at the same time.

"Woah, this stuff is really cool.", she muttered, but Johnny heard her. He turned around and rolled his eyes when he realized she got distracted.

"Come on. We don't have all day.", he sassed, grabbing her hand and leading her to the room.

"Okay, okay. Geez.", she replied, rolling her eyes, as well.

After more walking, they reached their destination. Johnny was right, the room did have some sort of ID scanning device.

"Good thing I brought the-", he stopped mid-sentence when he noticed that his and Katherine's hands were still linked together.

Katherine followed his gaze and quickly withdrew her hand from his.

"You were saying?", she asked, trying to shake off the awkwardness.

"Good thing I brought the hacking identification card. These things are handy, indeed.", he replied, searching his pocket for the said card.

"Aha!", he spoke, and swiped it across the card slot. The door unlocked and they looked at each other.

"Okay, make sure to have your weapons ready. We don't know what's in there.", he reminded, and Katherine just gave him a nod.

They scanned the small room for anything suspicious, most especially hidden cameras. For sure, Johnny didn't want his cover to be blown too soon.

"Check for cameras, bugs or anything. This room is off limits for a reason.", Johnny stated, and Katherine was turned on again.

"Dammit, why does he have  to be such a turn-on?", she muttered under her breath, and Johnny turned around.

"What was that?", he asked, cocking an eyebrow.

Katherine shook her head quickly and began searching the small room they were in.
