Chapter 2- Part II- The Knight in Shining Armour
My eyes met the hard stare of a pair of red rubies. The muscle of the Knight's jaw tightened and his palms clenched at his sides. He looked like he was ready to strangle me. He wasn't been wearing his visors so, his handsome face was displayed through his helmet. A perfect sculpture of art that might make a Greek God put to a shame. The raven strands fell on the marble expanse of his forehead, hadn't he moved I'd have believed that he was a marble statue.
I was glad my face was covered in my mask or else, he would suspect me of some gawking maniac.
His long six feet something height was intimidating with that silver junk, but no man could be as intimidating after threatening them with their very personal parts. Well, his future relayed on it!
"C'mon! Hop on! We haven't got all day," I ordered trying to sound as harsh as possible because he was too distracting for me.
He gave me a dark look and said, "I would but I'm afraid I'm in a bit of compromising situation here." And he gestured at his hands which were behind his back firmly restricted thanks to my magnetic handcuffs.
"Oh! Then..." I looked around trying to find something that would help him to climb up on his stallion and stood beside the horse thinking.
The horse however, was very eager to taste my arm that hung in front of him like a tasty meat and he nibbled on it.
"Hey, you stinky beast! Back off!" I yanked away my arm, "you know, how expensive my suit is?" The beast gazed me up with his big black eyes and snorted as if he was trying to say: so what? It was tasty anyway.
Shouts came along with a few cries and I froze beside my own prisoner. I snapped my head and saw the men were pretty busy with their enemy and blood splattered everywhere with its metallic scent lingering in the air. But it also announced how little time I had got to form a plan to sneak away from under their noses.
I bit my lower lip but nothing came in my mind other that one possible way. It was insane!
I gazed up at my prisoner taking in his big physique and that giant sword that hung from his hip. He looked like he could snap me in two without breaking a sweat and I could somehow take a guess that he might be strong enough considering that he was doning the heavy silver armour. For a moment, it made me reconsider my plan.
Well, I couldn't back away now, could I? Especially when the army of demons were on your arse ready to pounce on you any moment with their swords, spears and pitchforks- possibly horns and tails attached.
However, I didn't see any horns or tails on this Knight and nor his men had any. Instead he was a fine one, I had only heard that Lucifer was the most beautiful one among the angels never knew the rest of the demons also had the similar kind of beauty.
He cocked a brow.
I exhaled, "Fine! I'm putting off the restriction but try something funny and you'll lose your precious little soldier down there."
He looked down at the sword point again and he caught my eyes while his face hung low. The look he was giving me was far more dangerous than any tortures I had experienced in my past. The look of a killer. A sexy killer.
I gulped down the shiver that ran down my spine also, put aside my maiden thoughts.
I looked at my writs watch and then at the magnetic cuffs. A grin came along. These weren't any ordinary cuffs. No matter how much strength he had, he couldn't just break free of them until I put off the magnetic field around them. I thanked Dyson again for this gadget which became handy in such cases as I had a doubt a rope could hold him back.
I touched the screen on my smart watch and within a moment the magnetic field was gone and his hands were released. It didn't take him long to charge on me while his sword came on his hand in a fraction of a second. It felt like he didn't drew out, it just came there in a flash.
I stumbled a few steps back with my heart beating out loudly and to my pleasure, avoided a clean swing of his sword. I looked wide eyed at him. The sword was three times bigger than my own swords and the way he held it, he looked like crafty swordsman. One small mistake and I'd be dead.
Eh? But I'm already dead.
A devilish smirk crept on my lips and he charged again however, I pressed the screen and the magnetic field reappeared while his hands clutched to each other on their own and the sword swung itself for the magnetic field and glued to the cuffs.
Ah! I could always leave some fun for later. Besides, patience was a virtue when it came to fun.
He stopped, startled as he looked at his own sword pointed at his neck.
I smiled, a diabolic one.
I could see the anger burining inside of him through his dazzling ruby orbs. It could smoke a normal person's body but not mine, I'd seen countless of such looks.
"What did you think, I was a naive little bitch to let my prisoner loose?" I moved near him and whispered, "Next time, try that again and you'll be sorry to even think of killing me."
"What sorcery is this?" He hissed. His canines grew more and touched his lower lip. Then it struck me.
Was there a possibility that he was a vampire? Did demons have such long canines as well?
However, I didn't have time for this. I had my partner to find in this who-knows-a-hell-or-something world.
I crossed my hands over my chest and said, "Ah! Yes! Sorcery! Glad you noticed that soon enough. Now, I'm going to put off that restrictions again and this time I'm serious."
He clenched his teeth and turned over to his horse stomping on the ground rather in a grumpy manner. Okay! Maybe he had agreed with me.
Standing outside of his killing range, I put off the magnetic field again and his sword came down on the ground.
I narrowed my gaze at him and chewed on my lower lip assuming he would pick it up and might pounce on me again. But he didn't do it. Like an obedient prisoner that he was, the Knight picked up his sword, gently put it back in his sheath and took his place on his horse. He actually didn't do any kind of restraining. His eyes however, looked at a distance where his companions were. Maybe he thought, they would see him and come to save him.
Now that I would definitely want to avoid. I needed to ensure not a soldier from his troops saw me kidnapping him. I looked at the men fighting there. Any moment their eyes would fall on their Sir Knight and I would be doomed.
The stallion snorted snapping my attention. Now the question remained that how the hell one rode a horse?
I, in my twenty six years seven months and twenty two days of life- now dead- never needed a horse. So, I didn't quite held any knowledge on handling the four legged beast.
I gazed up at that brown horse who turned up his head and whined at his master's familiar weight. It wouldn't be that complicated, would it? You just have to sit on it and start trotting. That's all.
And besides, what could a brown beast do to a top notch assassin?
****
"You stinky beast!" I growled at the four legged beast underneath me who ignored my threats completely and began to chew my boot or at least tried to. He even tried to chew my fingers off when I was patting him. "You know you are very much stinky and if you don't go now, you'll face Thanos's wrath!"
He snorted.
"Oh! C'mon! Let's go, what are you waiting for?" I shifted uncomfortably on his back as my prisoner sat behind me stiffly, very firmly attached to my back, I might add. Good thing was I had put the magnetic field on and his hands were back to restrained again. But even he might be enjoying this.
The stallion, however, started to chew the grass as if he was in no hurry and living his peaceful days while carrying two persons on him.
"You blockhead of a horse! I'll give you a cart full of grass. Now let's go!"
Behind me, the Knight coughed.
"He's got a name, in case you didn't know," he muttered behind me.
"Well, do you think I'm his childhood friend to know all that stuff?" I retorted, clearly exasperated and feeling mildly lucky that nobody had noticed what was going on even with my pathetic attempt to kidnap this guy.
"And what's that?" I asked but by now I was sure his men would come in any moment and I knew I was short in bullets.
"Jinx."
"To hell with... what? Jinx? Ah! That's a nice name. You Jinxy little beast! Don't try to jinx me now I'm in a hurry. Run! Run! Spread your fiery wings and run!"
I could feel the Knight rolling his eyes behind my back and my brows twitched.
"You don't know how to ride a horse, do you?" He asked and I stiffened.
"Err..." A nervous chuckle left from my mouth, "I knew. But I didn't really needed it so, I forgot." I peered over my shoulders and said, "Why don't you help me with this matter?"
He gave me a long look. "And why would I help you to abduct me?"
"Because... because you're my prisoner?" He raised a questioning brow and I added, "and you're bound to obey to me."
He scoffed. "Yes, of course! Bound to obey a human. As much as it's a marvelous offer, I would like to deny it. I don't obey any woman let alone a human- and a witch!" His voice was rough on edges that could cut me like a dagger.
My brows twitched some more. I didn't know but his 'human' sounded more like an insult. What was wrong with this world and him? This ancient bastards were egotistical and chauvinistic creatures who thought following a woman's order was an insult to their manhood. To hell with their manhood!
Then a voice came more like a shout. I moved my head to the source and saw a man advancing toward us and two men followed his suit.
"Fucking hell!" I muttered a curse and pulled out my gun and noted I had only six bullets left.
I took a breath and pointed at the first man who had crossed the yard almost nearing us.
Bang!
The bullet hit his left eye propelling him backward in an awkward cartwheel and left behind a red hollow- my trademark- where red liquid pouring out of it. His body fell and the two men behind him stopped abruptly looking at us- me with a horrified face. I smirked under my mask.
Well, it was fun!
However, the bang startled the horse as he neighed in panic while I caught the reins and he bolted away in the direction of the forest at a thundering speed. The wind rushed through us slapping everywhere and his fiery mane hit my hands.
"Release my hands!" From behind me the Knight shouted, his voice sounded like a thunder clap.
Was he serious? If I were to release him, he would waste no chance to kill me.
But the furry animal now galloped into the depth of the forest as his speed increased. He ran like his tail caught a fire. The trees around grew more thicker and the vegetation grew more unruly. The boughs from the trees hung low enough for me to think that they would hit us but we managed to keep our heads low.
"Release my hands!" He hissed at me like a snake and added, "He doesn't know where he is going." A hint of worry was present in his voice.
The trees, the trunks and everything became a blur around me like I was in a fighting jet. I bit my lip and clicked the "release" button on my smart watch knowing I would regret it later but I didn't have a chance at the moment.
Within a moment the Knight in shining armour grabbed my hands, taking a hold of the reins which I held, his large hands swallowed my small ones. He bent forward for balance gluing himself to me where his face stayed on my shoulder creating a jolt of lighting inside of me.
"Come on, boy! Everything is fine." He spoke up and I felt a warm shiver of pleasure run across my skin making every hair on my body stand.
The horse must have heard his master's voice and felt his touch on his mane as he let out a whinny, under the Knight's control the horse slowly rode in a circle. He came to an halt at last and the Knight swung himself down, dragging along me with him.
In a flash he caught my wrists with both of his hands, "What was that?" He demanded, his eyes blazing fire.
"That was sorcery..." I tried to answer but he cut me off, "That wasn't sorcery. I saw you draw something out and kill my man. Also, you dared to scare my horse."
His breath fanned on my mask and I wished somehow my hands reached each other to click on the screen otherwise this furious person wouldn't take long to rip me apart.
"I didn't scare your furry blockhead friend. He got scared himself and started running on his own!" I shouted as well.
He pulled me forward to his hard junkie chest that now there was no room left for air in between. He twisted my wrists and the pain shot up till my brain.
"Never call him blockhead again." He put such pressure on his words that I believed I would never do such horrible thing even if I die. However, I reminded myself that I was dead already.
He let go of me and went to his furry blockhe- furry delightful friend and soothed his mane. His horse whined again which left a small smile on the face of the Knight. The sunlight that broke through the fleshy leave of the towering trees now flowed down and bounced off his flawless pale skin making him look like a deity. The small smile on his face and the radiance of his complete being was something that I hadn't ever seen before. Were all the demons this beautiful?
He weaved his long fingers in the horse's mane with the smile still lingering somehow it generated a electrocuting feeling in my heart; which also left my ears red and my nervous system go down completely in the butt of Thanos!
