I woke up and got dressed. I went to the kitchen and grabbed some bread. Now I know what you're thinking, where's your mum and dad? Well, mum died in a car crash and my dad left me. So I live in a one bedroom house with a kitchen, bathroom and lounge room. I had my first day at Goode Highschool today.

Anyway, I went outside to the bus stop. And waited by myself. Alone. On the curb. 15 minutes later the school bus pulled up.

When I got on, I headed straight to the back of it. But I tripped on something as I was going past a buff boy with blonde hair and brown eyes. He had stuck his foot out and tripped me. I was used to it, so I got back up and didn't say anything. Until I heard, "You big bully! Leave him alone!"

I turned around to see a beautiful girls with chocolate brown hair and sparkling brown eyes.

"Oh, Reyna dear, I didn't mean to! I'm sorry!" He said.

"Just go away!" She shouted. Then she turned to me. "Are you okay? Brad's an idiot. My name's Reyna. What's yours?"

I was speechless as she looked at me with her peircing eyes. "Uh...uh...Nico."

She smiled. "Nice to meet you! Is it your first day?" I nodded.

"Well I can show you around if you like?" I nodded again. That was how I met my best friend, Reyna.

THREE YEARS LATER...

I hopped of the bus and was walking through the gates when I heard,

"Hey, Emo Kid! Where are your parents huh? Where's your mum? Oh that's right, she's dead, isn't she? And you're just a worthless idiot."

Brad and his gang came up to me and shoved me to the ground. Then he started kicking me. I didn't do anything as I was used to it. Then I heard, "Stop it Brad! What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Reyna ran over and pushed him off.

"Aw, what's the matter, sweetheart? He's just a loser, with no parents-"

"Shut up Brad! Just go away!"

"But baby-"

"Stop calling me that!" And she kicked him where the sun don't shine. He yelped and ran off, his 'friends' behind him.

"Oh my god, Nico! Are you okay?!"

She ran over to me as I groaned and sat up. "Yeah. I think."

She helped me stand up and we sat on a bench nearby.

"I'll be back." She came back with an icepack and put it on my arm that had a swollen bruise on it.

"Thanks Reyna." I said. She smiled. "Well you are my best friend, and that's what they're for." Then she turned around and brought out a.....cupcake?!

"Happy birthday, Death Breath!" I stared at her in shock.

"W-what?" I asked. She stared at me in shock.

"It's your birthday? Remember?"

I stared at her some more. "Oh. That's right...wait, you remembered?"

She laughed a beautiful laugh. "Of course I did! Now make a wish." She held it out infront of me. I blew it, and made a wish. (Not telling you what it is though)

"Thank you." I stared into her eyes, and all of a sudden we were nose to nose, I could feel her breath on my face.

"Anything for you, Death Breath." And she closed the gap between us.

Lets just say I it was the best birthday ever.
