it was night time in the harsh snowing terrain of Siberia,Russia,a blizzard covered the country in snow as a heavy downfall of small frozen water,fell down on in the barren terrain,at this time,most people were heading home,to their houses to warm up and rest and protect themselves from the storm but,somewhere in the cold wilderness,a few miles away from the nearest town,a decently built home,stood strong amidst the storm of snow,light seeped through the window as children huddled around a cozy fire,inside a brick chimney as they told stories and chatted

it was an orphanage,filled with children of all sorts of age and sizes,why build an orphanage in the middle of nowhere,no one knows,the only one with the answers to that,was the owner of said orphanage,who was currently standing in front of the front door with a young man,who looked no less,than a 13 year old boy

the 2 stood in front of the door as the boy carried a large backpack,wearing a white hoodie,black pants,black shoes and had a pair of headphones around his neck as his dark blue eyes shone in the shadows while he looked at the owner of the orphanage,it was a blonde woman,wearing a green dress with a white and red off shoulder cape,she looked at the boy with worry in her eyes as if she didn't want the boy to leave

???1:do you know,where you're going

???2:of course,Anti Entropy controls the Deep,as long as it remains in AE control,then I can get back,if I master the Sea's power,then I can traverse it as much as I want

???1:are you sure about your choice though,their all going to miss you

???2:of course they will,it's in their nature,but I have to as a  Vollerei,it's my duty to learn it's secrets and power

???1:even so,don't you think,you should at least tell your Sister

???2:heh,she's not ready to know about any of this yet,besides,if I did,she would clearly stop Me and there would be nothing I would be able do about it,worst case scenario,she would want to come with Me and I don't want to risk her safety

???1:are you really sure of your decision,don't you think it's a bit early for you to be doing this

???2:if I don't do this now,I may never will,it could take me years to get a grasp of the Sea's power,so I want get a headstart 

???1:well,looks like I can't convince you to stay,since that's the case,I wish you the best of luck and safe travels

???2:thank you Cocolia,please take care of Seele for Me,when she finds out,I know it will hurt her a lot,so I want someone by her side to help her

Cocolia:don't worry,I'll be here for her,so will her friends,so send us a postcard or something once and awhile

Cocolia:then you best be going,it could get busy in the cities and the airport can get pretty crowded

Cocolia:of course,stay safe,Seere

the boy,now named Seere,nodded his head at the blonde woman,named Cocolia as he exits the orphanage and pulls his hoodie up,he walked away into the darkness of the night as the blizzard covered his tracks,behind him,Cocolia,watched Seere walk into the blizzard as his figures slowly disappears,until it was completely gone

Cocolia closed the door and locked it,before looking to the clock and seeing,that it was already 9:30 in the evening,she entered the room,where all the children were wide awake and sharing stories with each other as they all sat in a circle at the center of the room

Cocolia:alright children,it's time for bed,it's getting late already

Everyone:yes,Matushka

all the children stood up from their seats and walked out of the room and climbed up the stairs to the second floor,to return to their rooms for the night,all except one,a small girl with purple to dark blue hair,wearing a dark blue shirt with white sleeves and a dark blue checkered skirt,walked towards Cocolia,instead of going with the other kids

???:Matushka?

Cocolia:Seele?,what are you doing,why haven't you gone with the others yet

Seele:I-I was wondering where Nii-chan is,do you know,where he is

Cocolia:ah,I see,your Brother is already asleep in his room,you should go join Bronya in your room,it's getting late

Seele:o-ok

Seele,then walked away as she left the room and walked up the stairs,after her friends as she returned to her room,leaving Cocolia,alone in the living room of the orphanage

Seele(mind):something doesn't feel right,I didn't see Nii-chan go up stairs awhile ago,but maybe I just didn't realize

Cocolia(mind):I'm sorry Seele,I can't tell you just yet,I can't bring myself to do it,tomorrow,I'll tell you,I just hope your prepared to hear it

as Cocolia finished her thought,she left the living room and headed upstairs as well as she retired to her own room for the night,she went into her room and killed all the outside lights,using some controls in her room as she quickly changed into a nightgown and laid on her bed and quickly fell asleep

hours later,it was now morning in Siberia,the blizzard had ceased as the sun slowly rose over the horizon,giving the cold country some warmth,Cocolia and a small child with silver hair,wearing a brown uniform with a short brown skirt-

were cooking in the kitchen of the orphanage as they prepared breakfast for all of the children,who were still sleeping

Cocolia:thank you for helping Me with breakfast,Bronya

Bronya:it's ok Matushka,I was awake anyway,so I thought I would cook for everyone today

Cocolia:that's kind of you Bronya but to be honest I would prefer it,if you were still asleep,children like you need their rest

Bronya:well I got used to waking up,this early,so it's alright,Matushka

Cocolia,giggled from her "daughters" joyful and helpful nature as they prepared everyone breakfast,soon enough the other children came down from the 2nd floor,al yawning and stretching as they all attempted to wake themselves up,Seele was the first one to enter the kitchen as she looked around,in her still sleepy state of mind

she saw Cocolia and Bronya,making everyone's breakfast as she walked towards the 2 and greeted them

Seele:good morning Bronya-nee,good morning Matushka

Bronya:Good morning Seele

Matushka:good morning,are the others wake already

Seele:yes,they are but Nii-san seems to still be asleep

Cocolia:I see,he must be tired,let's leave him be for now and let him sleep in

Seele:ok

Cocolia:why don't you join the others for now,you too Bronya,I can finish up,here

Seele & Bronya:ok,Matushka

Bronya finished what was doing and gave it to Cocolia as she joined Seele in walking out of the kitchen and going to the other kids to go play and chat while Cocolia finished up preparing their breakfast,while trying to figure out,how to break the news to Seele,the most gentle way possible,she didn't want to be the bearer of bad news to her but she was the adult,so she had to deal with it

in the end,as she finished making breakfast for everyone,Cocolia,decided to give the news to Seele,straightforward in a one on one talk,it was a simple way but it would be the most effective way,is what she hoped as she looked at the Syrniki(Cottage Cheese Pancakes),that she and Bronya made

Cocolia,left the kitchen and entered the living room,where she saw all the children,playing and talking to each other as some ran around the room,chasing each other while others sat on the floor and talked to each other,Cocolia knocked her hand on the wall,catching all the children's attention as they all look over to their Matushka,she called them all for breakfast as they all joyfully ran into the kitchen while Cocolia gave Bronya and another silver haired girl named Mal,the instructions to set the table for everyone

as everyone entered the kitchen for breakfast,Cocolia stopped one of them before they could join the others,it was Seele,the small girl looked at the older woman with a curious and slightly fearful expression as Cocolia tried to not make eye contact with her 

Seele:Matushka?

Cocolia:Seele,we need to talk

Seele:am I in trouble

Cocolia:no,nothing of the sort,but we have something to discuss,something important

Seele:ok

Cocolia took Seele's arm and led her to the living room's couches as she told the small girl to sit down on the couch while she sat on the opposite side of her with a serious expression on her face

Seele:w-what do you want to talk about,Matushka

Cocolia:Seele,it's about your Brother

Seele:about Nii-san?

Cocolia:yes,I thought about,how to tell you this,all night long and this is,what I think the best way

Seele:w-what is this about,Matushka

Cocolia:Seele,your Brother is-,.........................gone

Seele looked at blonde woman is disbelief and confusion as she didn't understand,what Cocolia meant by "gone",by this time Seele would be 6 years old and right now was having hard time,processing the information,she had just heard

Seele:w-wh-what

Cocolia:*inhales*Seele,last night,your Brother left the orphanage,in hopes grasping the power of the Vollerei's,he won't be back in a long time

Seele:no-,...no,Nii-san would never leave,he's in his room sleeping,he's-

Cocolia:Seele,I know the truth is hard to accept but it is,what it is,I tried to get him to stay but he didn't listen,I'm sorry

Seele:Nii-san,no-,.......no,he wouldn't leave*sobs*he wouldn't leave Me,he-

tears rolled down,Seele's eyes like a waterfall as she cried in her seat,wiping the tears way,only for them to be replaced by a new falling tear,Cocolia,quickly stood from her seat and went over to Seele as she pulled her into an embrace as Seele reciprocated and hugged back as she cried into Cocolia's chest,muffling her cries,Cocolia rubbed Seele's back as she stayed by her side,trying to calm the little girl down

Seele:*sobs*Nii-san*sobs*why-

Cocolia:it's ok Seele,I'm here,let it all out

Seele:*sobs*why did he*sobs*leave,why did Nii-san leave

Cocolia:I don't know Seele,I don't know why,but he wouldn't want you to cry,he'd want you to be strong,so you could smile,when he comes back,he would never want to see you cry like this,he would rather like you to be the strong and kind girl,he knows you are,so please cheer up

Seele:*sobs*is that-,..*sobs*is that,what Nii-san said

Cocolia:yes,one day he'll be back and you'll be able to be with him again,and he wouldn't want to see you sad like this,I don't want to see you like this,none of us do,so cheer up,he'll be back,he promised

Seele:promise?

Cocolia:promise

Seele leaned her head back into Cocolia's chest and lightly sobbed as Cocolia continued to comfort her in her time of grief as she gently patted her head

Cocolia(mind):Seere,you better come back unscathed for making you Sister cry or so help Me god,your going to get an earful unlike any you've gotten before from Me
