Not a chapter update, but did find this fun side AU story and figured I could still use it. It doesn't have anything to do with the story. I just thought it was a fun idea when I wrote it. The original one was published on June 2nd 2022. I didn't feel the need to change much about it. I do feel like I had to redesign the art of it.  Still working on chapter updates so I thought  this would be something to  read in the mean time.  Enjoy.

Once there was a happy and prosperous fairy kingdom. The king had a kind and loving wife and daughter. They were his pride and joy. The kingdom loved the kind and generous royal family.

Tragedy struck one day when the queen passed. The king with a heavy heart continued to rule the kingdom. One day the king had remarried a woman he thought would be good for his daughter. The woman he married also had a daughter.

Over the next few year things seem to go well. Until the day the king passed. He had made his wife queen until she deemed his daughter ready to be queen. The new queen had other plans though.

She had proclaimed the kind-hearted princess unworthy of the throne and banished her from the kingdom.

Heart-broken from the loss of her father and home she did her best to live on her own. Staying true to herself she thrived. Her kindness helped many in need and her light spread across the outlands making them easier to live in. New life grew in the mostly barren land.

The queen that had banished the princess heard of her influence. Enraged she decided to have her hunted down and killed. She summoned a Shadow Fairy that went was called the Demon shadow. The queen offered payment for him to hunt down and kill the banished princess.

He began to think the job was too easy and not really worth his time until the queen mentioned how the soul of a princess would make a fine addition to is collection of shadows. Thinking about it he began to believe the queen might be right. The soul of a princess would be a grand addition to his collection.

He agreed to the job and began looking for her.

He unfortunately ran into an enemy of his and was badly wounded. His enemy escaped him and was heavily wounded as well. He travelled into the out lands wounded. Eventually he collapsed from the pain.

Normally he would be able to heal with no problems. But the problem here was he was heavily wounded with light magic. His weakness. Healing these types of wounds would take him ages.

As he was about to black out, he noticed a figure approach him. He couldn't tell who it was. In mere moments after he blacked out.

Upon waking he was very confused about why he was alive. Shadow fairies are considered monsters and any normal fairy would have taken the opportunity to slay him while he was weakened. The night sky glimmered above him as he pondered the question.

The sound of a crackling fire drew his attention. That's when he laid his eyes on the fairy that saved him. She was beautiful and it didn't take him long to realize she was his target. She was the banished princess.

She was more beautiful than the vengeful queen described. She worked hard to heal him and make him feel better. The more time he spent with her the more he began to feel for her. Talking to her was easy and she made him feel important.

When he was fully healed, and he was to kill her he couldn't. He couldn't kill her anymore because he had fallen in love with her. So, he decided to stay with her and protect her instead.

If the vengeful queen sent one shadow fairy to kill the princess he wouldn't doubt she would send others to kill her.
