Chapter 5

Izuku Midoriya POV

I woke up again in the hospital, a place I'm probably more familiar with than I should be but this time it wasn't my fault. I thought back to what had happened before I passed out, wait mom! I looked around frantically before feeling a hand on my shoulder. "Calm down Midoriya," Mr.Aizawa said.

"Where's my mom?!" I asked and Mr. Aizawa sighed.

"I think you already know the answer to that." He said.

"N-no she can't be, I can't lose her, she's the only family I have!"

"I'm sorry kid, she was dead by the time we got there." I instantly teared up.

"This is all my fault, how can I be a hero if I can't save my own mom when she was right in front of me!"

"Hey calm down, you're in a pretty fragile state yourself. It's not your fault."

"Yes, it is! I could've prevented this! I could've told you guys what he was doing to me! I could've listened to him, acted how he wanted me to. I could've done so much. I could have saved her." I said getting quieter towards the end. I suddenly felt a wave of dizziness hit me and I fell back onto the bed.

"I told you to calm down problem child, I know you're upset but you're going to hurt yourself if you continue. Try to get some more rest we'll talk more about this in the morning." I stayed silent aside from my crying but he knew I heard him. I fell asleep pretty quickly which I was grateful for since I didn't really want to talk or think about anything anymore.

----------

When I woke up again I was alone but I heard talking from outside which I assume was Mr. Aizawa and someone else I don't know who. I took off my oxygen mask which made a machine start going crazy but I drowned out the noise easily. I then took out whatever IV's that I had in causing more machines to again go crazy and this time a couple of nurses and Mr. Aizawa rushed in but I didn't care, I wanted out of here.

"Midoriya let them put the Iv's back in." Mr. Aizawa said trying to calm me down which was pointless since I was calm I just don't feel like being attached to anything right now.

"I don't need them, I feel fine just let me go," I said swatting a nurse's hand away. The nurse just grabbed my arm again but this time was stopped by the doctor entering.

"What's the problem Mr.Midoriya?" The doctor asked.

"The problem is that I want to go home and these guys keep trying to put medicine in me when I'm perfectly fine," I explained irritated.

"Well, then that does sound like quite the problem doesn't it? Tell you what, let's make a deal." He suggested.

"I'm listening."

"If I check your vitals and they look normal then you don't have to be attached to anything and you can leave later today but if I check the vitals and they are bad then we put the IV's back in and you stay here until we know for sure that you are good enough to leave." He offered.

"Fine let's do it, not like I have any other option," I said.

"Great." The doctor replied and got to work checking my vitals. Once he was finished he stepped back looking a little shocked.

"Problem?" I asked.

"Well, it looks like everything is completely normal. You'll be out of here by the end of the day."

"Wait are you sure he's fine? He almost died yesterday." Mr. Aizawa spoke up.

"Trust me Sir, if I thought something else was wrong then I would keep him longer but he's fine, he just needs to rest and take care of his wounds, both of those things he can do at home. We're gonna keep him a few more hours to be safe, he'll be staying with you and your husband is that correct?" The doctor asked.

"Yeah, we don't think it's a good idea for him to be alone after everything that's happened."

"That's good, I'll send one of the nurses in with paperwork for you in a little while, take care of yourself Midoriya." The doctor said before leaving.

"Can I have my phone?" I asked and Mr.Aizawa nodded handing me my phone.

"We need to talk kid, the police, and I have a pretty good idea of what happened but we need answers from you."

"No thanks, maybe later," I said flipping over on my side facing away from him and getting on my phone ignoring the worried messages from my classmates and opening a random game to keep my mind off of things.

"You should answer them, I told them you're ok but they won't be relieved until they hear from you themselves."

"I don't want to talk," I said and Mr. Aizawa sighed probably realizing he wasn't going to get through to me right now. I want my mom back.
