Boulevard • Prologue
To Corinne Hayden Peters, life was never easy. Goodbyes always torn her life apart like a piece of paper.
Boulevard • Prologue - Boulevard Out Of Their Family
She walked into school clutching the same old boring lunch bag she lazily makes for herself every morning and her obviously-thrown-around and worn out bookbag that contained rubbish that has piled up in one damp corner for the last eleven months. The first warning bell rung when she rushed to her locker to get her Algebra textbooks out of her locker.
'Locker 414,' the rusty metal spelled on the very run down locker that she had. The second bell rung and Corinne ran to the Algebra classroom before Mrs. Delia arrived. She sat next to the hottest boy of the level, John Dinklage. Although all the girls - and some guys- swoon whenever they see him, Corinne never had any interest in him... but they had a connection. Yet, they were oblivious to everything.
Corinne's POV.
I ran into the Algebra room, going to my boring desk, where I'm gonna learn boring stuff, in my boring life. I sat next to John Dinklage. Girls and guys worshiped him for how perfect his life was. Unlike mine. I never had any interest in him at all though, but i never had interest in anything anyways. Goodbyes always had to come in my life and fuck everything up. Like how my brother became a druggie and tore our family apart. I had to say goodbye to the innocent, lovely brother I had. Not soon after Mrs Delia started her revision lesson, I started to daydream, not aware that I was actually in existence. A strict and annoyed voice was calling my name.
"Miss Peters! Earth to Corinne Peters," the voice was Mrs. Delia's. She was the 'old hag' type of teacher. To get on her bad side was not the greatest nor smartest choice to do.
"Wha- uh, yeah?" I answered briefly. She took her marker and slammed it on the whiteboard pointing to the difficult question that was written.
"Find x."
"Er, 21?" I gulped nervously. Smooth moves, Corinne. Sheesh.
The class burst into laughter and Mrs. Delia signaled everyone to keep quiet. Her evil eyes squinted at me as she demanded, "There isn't even an x in the statement, shows how much you pay attention, yes? Detention for you Miss Peters!"
Oh well, it's not like I have anything to do at home.
