Chapter 7:
I Think I Do Too

The next morning we found out our mother is planning a ball. With that information Caroline, Rebekah, Freya, and I headed out to get dresses our hair done and nails for the ball.

"Okay, so who has a date?" Caroline asked as we were getting our nails done.

"I don't have a date," I told them looking down at my nails. They all smiled at each other turning back toward me.

"Why don't you go with Stefan," Rebekah told me with a smirk as Caroline nodded and smiled. Freya just smiled. She as already seen how the two loved each other but were both either obvious or scared to admit it.

"We are friends!" I told them sick of this conversation as I cheeks turned red. I then decided to changed the subject.

What about you Care?" I told her smirking when I saw her blush.
"Enzo asked me," she told us and we all immediately squealed.

"Rebekah?"Freya asked her with a smile.
"Kai asked me," she told us looking down slightly. I smiled at that happy for both my sister and best friend.

"Freya?" Caroline asked her.
"I'm going with Finn since I don't have a date and we are both getting used to this century," she told us and I nodded happy that my sibling were happy.

When we got back to the mansion we saw that the decorations were almost done. We decided to get ready together.

Rebekah

Freya

Nicole

"We look hot!" Caroline said with a bright smile and we all laughed at her with bright smiles.

I was so happy we were all getting along. After our laughing fit, we were ready to leave the room and joined the ball.

"Wait I forgot my necklace!" I told them racing back into my room. I got my simple diamond necklace that was a present from Stefan. He told me when he put it on me you deserve this and so much more. This is a thank you moony for everything. I cried when he give it to me. After i finished putting it on I started to walk to the stairs checking myself over.

As I got to the staircase it got quiet all of a sudden. I looked up seeing everyone looking at me, but I only locked eyes with one person. I saw Stefan he looked like he was talking to Kol but when everyone stop talking he was confused before turning and looking at me.

When he looked at me his eyes were wide as his eyes roamed my body. He smiled softly st me when we made eye contact. He was looking at me like I was the only person in the room. I blushed as I got closer to the end of the stairs I saw him moving closer to end of the staircase. He had his hand out for me when I got to the bottom. I smiled softly at him.

"Thank you, Stefan," I told him as I placed my hand is his.
"Of course Moony. You look beyond words," he told me still smiling at me with an awestruck look on his face. I smiled at him after he said that.

"Thank you. You look very handsome," I told him. I then saw him look down at my necklace.

"You still have it?" He asked as he amazed before looking up to meet my eyes.
"Of course," I told him with a smile.

In that moment as Stefan looked down at Nicole she had a smile on her face, and her eyes were bright with a little trickle in them. He knew that everyone was right he had fallen for his best friend and he never wanted to get up.

Stefan then lead her to her family as he held her hand and had a bright smile on his face. Kol was the first to speak as he noticed them coming.

"Sister you clean up nice," Kol told her with a smirk.
"So do you brother," l told him smiling at him.

Start playing music

As the night continued we all laughed and talked. It was a night we would never forget. As it came time to dance Kol grabbed my hand pulling me onto the dance floor.

"So sister are you love in?" Kol asked me as we danced. I stared at him not knowing what to say or why he would ask me that.

"Why would you ask me that?" I asked him softly trying not to give anything away.
"Sister I am your best friend I know you," he told me with a smirk. With that then he spun me into Stefans arms

"Hi," I told him softly looking into his eyes.
"Hey," he told me just staring at me with pure love in his eyes.

"What I am about to do might be crazy but I've been wanting to do it for a long time," Stefan told me as I just looked at him confused.
"Wait wha-"I started to ask him but before I could finish Stefan stopped me. 

Everyone with vamp hearing turned to us with bright smiles on their face hoping that this was the moment.

Stefan then dipped me he pulled me into a soft passionate kiss. It didn't feel like butterflies no it felt like fireworks.

I immediately kiss him back placing my hand on his cheek as he held me smile n his arms making sure I didn't fall. In this moment I felt at home with his lips on mine and in his arms.

As he pulls me up we pull away from the kiss.
"I think I am in love with Nicole Mikaelson," he told me and I smile at that. I felt tears welling up in my eyes.
"I think I do too Stefan Salvatore," I told him as a tear fell from my eye.

He then pulled me into another earth shattering kiss. All the Mikaelsons siblings plus Caroline, Kai, and Enzo were smiling. Caroline, Rebekah, and Freya had tears in their eyes. Happy that their best friends and sister was finally getting her happily ever after.

That after centuries of looking after everyone else she finally had what she deserved. Happiness.

After my moment with Stefan, I remembered what I had to do. They called for the champagne toast. I checked and so did Freya to make sure there was no doppelganger blood in it for the spell and removed it when we found some.

"Now drink," I told my siblings they nodded discretely. As I saw Esther walk up the stairs. I followed her and as I got to her office I saw her doing the spell.

When it failed I started smiling and then pushed softly. She then immediately turned to me wide eyes.

"Did you really think I was going to let you destroy my family for the second time?" I told her with as much venom as I could muster.

"Nicole I can explain," she told me. I smiled at her as she can really explain this.

"Really you were planning to kill us for your mistake. You already turned us into vampires now you want to take our lives as we are all finally happy again?" I asked her as a walked closer and closer to her.

"You are all monsters," she told me with disgust in her voice. I looked at her with an indifference look. Was that suppose to hurt? I wondered.

"Maybe we are but you turned us into this. You are the one who took away Kol's magic, you are the one who took away Rebekahs ability to have children, you are the one who took Finn's happiness away, and you are the one who made Elijah feel the need to be noble and clean. You were the one who bind me as I begged and cried for you to stop. You are the true monster mother," I told her with tears falling down my eyes. I saw her remorse in her eyes, but it disappeared as fast as it came. Seeing that I ripped her heart off. 

I made sure to collect her blood, and then I did a spell and lit her body on fire. Making sure to not let it burn down the house.

I walked out of the office making sure to lit a candle to get rid of the smell, and saw Caroline waiting for me.

"You okay?" She asked me pulling me into a hug.
"I will be," I told her smiling. As we pulled away from our hug she started squealing.

"What?" I asked her smiling at her excitement.
"You and Stefan kissed," she told me smiling like she just won the lottery.
"Yeah, we did," i told her with a little blush and then I started walking away from her. She caught up to me.
"Wait how was it?" She asked me looping her arm with mine.

I laughed and smiled at her. Thinking how lucky I am to have her as my best friend.

"Magically," I told her as she squealed, and we then continued walking back into the ball to enjoy the last bit of it.
