|Chapter 1: Prologue|

Love is an emotion. They say it's beautiful when you can feel it. Of course, you cannot measure the love that you feel for someone. However, love is not a term to be tagged on couples only; it prevails for every pious bond that exists in the world.

Though the love of a couple is often romanticized, the truth of a love relationship depends on how far your loved ones can go for you. People often claim that they love you, but either they don't show it or they can't show how much they love you. A true relationship is when you're loved without any expectations. Sometimes, we don't understand the love and the emotion behind it until we lose someone dear to us.

The ace business tycoon, Vineet Singhania, believes so. He claims to love a girl whom he met in his final year of college. She came like a breeze of wind and vanished like the same. It's been five years since she left without informing him.

She's a mystery, and he wants to find and decipher her.

Vineet owns a bungalow in one of the classy and sophisticated societies of Mumbai City. He lives with his mother, Mrinal Singhania. He's a top-notch businessman and an eligible bachelor in town. His mother is very worried for him. He's in his mid-thirties right now, and she feels that this is the right age for him to get married. But he keeps on denying it. There's a void in his life that no one can fill, and his mother thinks that he's wasting time with a girl whom he doesn't know. He's looking for her just because he likes her.

Vineet is on the terrace adjacent to his room. He's lost in his thoughts when his mother comes by his side. She wants to convince him to get married.

"Ma, what happened?" He asks, and the lady forwards a mug of coffee towards him.

"Ah, thanks, Ma. I needed this." He smiles at his mum.

"I know, Vineet. And I am here today for a specific reason." She beams at him.

"Ma, please. Don't talk about marriage. I don't want to marry anyone, at least not right now." He declares and concentrates on his coffee.

"Until when? Vineet, I know you're in search of something, but beta, until when are you going to search for her?" Mrinal questions.

"Until I find her, Ma. I know the process is time-consuming, but I will find her. She has to come back. I will bring her back." He seems determined at the moment.

"And Ma, please. Aap mujhse shaadi ki koi baat mat kijiye. Jab sahi waqt aayega, main khud aapko bataunga." He requests his mother, and she sighs deeply.

Vineet is determined to find her, while his mother disapproves of the same. She wants him to move on in his life, but he wants to remain in the past of his life when she was a part of it.

"Ma, don't waste your time. His majesty will find his bride soon." A cheerful voice sparks in the environment.

Vineet and Mrinal turn around only to find another young guy, that of Vineet's age, standing before them. He's Sahil Gupta, Vineet's childhood buddy. He refers to Mrinal as Ma, and the lady hasn't denied him ever. She loves it when he calls her Ma and often complains to her about Vineet.

"Sahil, thank god, you're here. Ab tum hi samjhao apne dost ko, meri toh koi baat isey samajh nahi aati." Mrinal gazes at him, making a face.

"Aap dono ye shaadi ki baat mat kijiye naa, please." Vineet makes a face; he's irked with the wedding talks.

Sahil giggles, while Mrinal leaves the men alone. She knows until Sahil is there, Vineet isn't alone, and these two handle themselves really well.

Sahil is aware that Vineet is thinking of the mystery girl. It's been five years since they met, but he can't pull her out of his mind and heart as well. She's not around him; they haven't seen her in a long time, yet, she rules his heart. He loves her.

"Oh! Where on earth are you, Mr. Singhania??" Sahil nudges him upon finding him immersed in his thoughts.

"Yeah, I have searched in all possible places, Sahil. She is nowhere. But, I know I saw her in the Ace Club, last time." Vineet expresses his concern.

"That was four months ago, Vineet. And that day, you drank more than you usually do. It's a hallucination, believe me." Sahil tries to convince him.

"No! I can't believe this. Main usey pehchaanne mein bhool nahi kar sakta, Sahil. You know it, right?" Vineet glances at his best friend.

"I know, Vineet, Lekin ab toh mujhe bhi lagta hai ki wo ladki sirf tera vehem thi. Varna 5 saalon mein kahin na kahin toh milti na wo humein. Aise kahan gayab ho gayi wo?" Sahil questions.

This time, Vineet has no answer. Truly, they met for a short time, but she has left a great impact on his mind and heart. Ever since she disappeared from the prom night, Vineet has been searching for her but is unable to find her. Sahil doesn't know how to convince his friend. However, he knows that Vineet is adamant, if he wants something, he gets it, be it by hook or crook.

Here, it involves the lady he loves, and Vineet wants to believe that she holds the same feelings for him. He wants to find the whereabouts of his mysterious love, and he will find her in one way or another.
