9. Somehow, This Just Keeps Escalating
"E-Eris?" Artemis whispers, cold sweat running down his face, "You can't be talking about the Eris. You know, the one who almost destroyed the world thousands of years ago."
Hades let out a shaky sigh, which was all the confirmation Artemis needed. "We sealed her in that vase, which should be indestructible, and put her in the Underworld," he blinked, still processing what had just happened, "But now she's gone." He focused a cold glare on Grim.
"It's not my fault!" Grim screamed, "You shouldn't have some dumb evil goddess just laying around!"
"She wasn't just 'laying around,' I had her on the top of the mantle, far away from everything!" Hades countered, "You knocked it off and touched it, despite me telling you explicitly not to!"
"It's not my fault it cracked!" Grim screeched, his voice sounding weak.
"You should know that you ruin everything you touch!" Hades boomed, throwing his hands in the air, "You never take anything seriously, Grimslay! You...You're such a disappointment!"
Grim choked on his breath, his face contorting into pure shock. He dragged his sleeve across his face, lip trembling. "I hate you!" Grim sobbed, running through the open doors of the throne room.
Hades gulped, sweat dripping down his brow. He gasped for breath as the severity of the phrase he had blurted out sank in. "I didn't...I didn't mean to..." He turned to Artemis, watching the young man for any kind of input.
Artemis narrowed his dark eyes, a scathing look of hatred radiating off him. His glare was powerful enough to horrify the god of death himself. Uttering a low growl, he turned away from Hades, running after his brother.
