Law happily smiled, a real smile as he walked down the sidewalk towards his side of the north blue district.

Heh, the raven didn't think he could make such a natural smile after all he'd been through...especially walking through this part of town, the abandoned part of north blue.

When he was a kid, his parents and his precious little sister perished in the flames of that terrible incident here all those years ago, the one that people called 'the flamepocalypse' which scorched almost half of the north blue and even some of the rural areas in east blue.

On that fateful winter night, a frightening fire started in this part of the north blue district at the dead of midnight, where no one was alert to stop it in its weakest moments, before it transformed into a devastating disaster.

Not only did it claim the lives of many here, but everyone Law cared for and knew, even though apparently east blue was left much worse after a terrorist group used the flames to their advantage and began to shoot citizens in the streets.

After that, the traumatized kid was simply thrown in a old half empty orphanage in the infamously dangerous grandline, and when he meant empty he means almost completely abandoned.

The only other kids there were all sickly and cold, they were expecting death soon so they didn't even bother making friends with him, they ignored him like the plague.

Law was all alone, and no one even cared...

That's when he begun to warp, he started to hate everything, and everyone, he would steal and fight to eat, to survive, and threaten anyone who would try to get near him, he became the very delinquent he always despised.

Until one day someone 'adopted' him, Doncixote Doflamingo.

In other words the city's greatest criminal mastermind and most known terrorist known globally, not to mention behind the scenes he was also a major drug lord with a new revolutionary kind of drug being delt.

Unlike what normal people do, Doflamingo wanted Law so he could turn him into a killing machine child soldier, and he would have succeeded too if it wasn't for his own twin brother.

Cora-san.

Law's current adopted father, and Law could still remember every single detail, still fresh in his mind.

How the man risked his life getting him out of the cellar, the cracks in his voice as he alerted the police on the phone, the stench of copper in the air when they were caught and he was shot, every single tick mark in Doflamingo's forehead as he was taken away by the authorities, how his own wails echoed throughout the hospital when Cora was put into the emergency room.

It was both his happiest as well as his saddest and most haunting memory of his childhood.

Law felt Bepo worriedly nudge his shoulder, feeling the conflicted emotions swirling around the teen like a whispy blanket, "I'm fine Bepo-ya" Law smiled at his concern, after all of that, here he was.

The raven not only had a, so far, super fulfilling and extremely happy life, but he had loyal friends and family to stay by his side and pick him up when he fell down again.

And (Y/N) was especially a special friend, it wasn't everyday you meet a magical girl with mythical and supposedly imaginary creatures for family.

Law kept walking down the sidewalk until Penguin started to flap his wings and skwack in a panic from where he was on Law's shoulder.

The raven realized the bird sensed something wrong in the area, and boy was it bad.

Walking towards them in the far distance, was a very gumpy looking Eustass Kidd and was seemingly stuck in an annoyed huff, thankfully who had yet to notice them.

Fucking shit.

What the hell would the bully do if he saw the raven with a flipping huge ass polar bear that wasn't even indigenous to this climate, a freaking albino peregrine falcon sitting on his shoulder and an oversized salamander fit to be from one of those horror gator movies?

Definitely not something good.

So Law did the first thing that popped into his head, he noticed how thick the woods next to the sidewalk were and didn't hestitate to shove the three of them in there, and just in time the redhead looked up to see Law all on his lonesome.

The medical student felt his nerves go alight at the wicked smirk the asshole gave him, crap he just realized he could have just asked the three to turn into some huge, protective guard dogs!

But it was much to late for that, as Kidd increased his speed towards the raven with a one set mind track to annihilate.

What should he do? Should he run?

...No, he couldn't run.

At the corner of his eye, Law caught sight of the trio's eyes, they were full of respect, admiration and worry.

He could never bring himself to look like a coward in front of them! And besides, meeting (Y/N) finally gave him something that he could finally stand up to Eustass with, he no longer had fear because of it.

Law was filled with relentless determination, courage and confidence.

Kidd's POV

As I grew closer to the wimpy nerd something felt...off.

Instead of slightly cowering back or running all together like he normally would being caught on his own he was...freaking smirking? Did the creep his his head on something or what?

This was new, the bastard was standing almost proud and tall with confidence almost oozing off of him, but that lively gleam in his eyes....why did they make me feel so warm?

I quickly decided I didn't like this new side to him, it was with a deep snarl I made a threatening pose and tried to intimidate him into backing down from the obvious challenge.

"Trafalgar, nice seeing your oh so cowardly ass here" the raven only chuckled in responce as I felt heat rush to my cheeks, easily ignoring the soft hissing noises in the backround.

'Wha-what the fuck was that!? Why did his laugh sound...almost attractive?' Okay, something was definitely fucking wrong with me, was there something wrong with what I ate earlier?

Law's POV

I noticed how Kidd-ya blushed in anger at my laughter, but I decided to push my luck some more, I was feeling especially lucky today, felt like I knew no bounds.

"Oh?~ Is that so? Well Eustass-ya I have the feeling that you might be the one turning tail this time~" the angry blush on his face intensified as he balled his fists in rage and...is that frustration is see on his face?

But I didn't get to think much more on it as I noticed the three shapeshifters in the concealment of the trees, all their eyes were shining in complete awe as I resisted the urge to let it go to my head, no, I just gotta keep being leveled.

But I was reminded of Eustass-ya's presence when he growled out, and when I looked him in the eye I felt myself sink in fast before quickly losing myself in them, they were such a pretty amber...it was like looking into a rusty masterpiece...'WAIT WHAT THE FUCK AM I SAYING!? THIS IS NO TIME TO LET MY-UH-ATTRACTION DISTRACT ME!!'

I felt a mild and unnoticeable blush form on my cheeks as his strong, gravelly voice rang out through the empty, abandoned street, "You better watch yourself Trafalgar, that new attitude of yours is gonna get ya killed"

God why was I attracted to him so? And at a freaking time like this!? He was my bully for fucks sake! I ain't no masochist!

But I ignored my internal plight as I continued to put my newfound pride on the line, "actually Kidd, it's going to put your ass in place" Whoops, went a little too far there, he flushed an all time new red as he started towards me with an angry scowl, well I was dead.

But I didn't regret anything as he grabbed me by the front of my hoodie, I didn't regret anything as he brought me close to his pale, sharp and clean face, I didn't regret anything as he slowly brought up his fist like a death hammer.

I finally spoke up to him and I was okay with the consequences of that, but, my content was cut short as my eyes widened in terror as a certain peregrine falcon swooped down from behind and onto the redhead.

Kidd's POV

'THE FLYING FUCK!?' Just when I was going to put the bastard back in his place and hopefully put a stop to this weird fluttery feeling in my chest, a fucking pigeon starting shrieking and clawing at my face.

Out of pure confusion I accidentally released the little nuisance in my hold and started swiping at the relentlessly attacking bird, "WHAT THE HELL!?"

Just when I was finally going to hit the bird, something else bit down on my leg, whatever it was it's teeth were hella sharp!

I let out a pained yowl as I tried to shake it off, I looked down and felt myself blink at the creature in absolute confusion and horror, it was a fucking red...crocodile!?

'WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCKING HELL IS GOING ON!? DID THAT FUCKING BASTARD SECRETLY DRUG ME WITH HIS FUCKING MAD SCIENTIST DRUGS AGAIN!?' In a fit of rage I was finally able to fling the slimy creature off and looked Trafalgar in the eye.

His gorgeous silver eyes were watching me and the creatures in what seemed to be horror as he just stood there in a daze.

....GORGEOUS!? WTF!? That's it! I had enough of these weird feelings! They made me feel weak and...almost soothed in a way..

This was bad, I didn't like it, it frightened me.

In one last burst of anger, I charged past the two weird ass agitated animals and barrelled towards the slightly frightened looking raven, I was fucking done with this shit.

I scowled at myself when I felt my stomach churning at his sudden fright, it made me feel bad, made me feel hurt.

But when I was just this close to pummeling him to the ground, a..a bear, a FUCKING bear, jumped out of the woods in front of Trafalgar and roared at me.

I skid to a hault and fell back, I startled out of my mind, WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON!?

Before I could even react, the bear turned around and flung the raven onto his back, the pigeon from earlier flew up to them and landed on his shoulder as the crocodile climbed up the bear and coiled around Trafalgar like a god damned snake.

My mind was a mess, what...what...I couldn't even process what was happening anymore.

The nerd finally seemed to have gotten over his own shock as a huge, victorious smirk covered his face, I shivered in responce as my chest fluttered even harder.

"Well, Kidd-ya, it seems like I must take my leave~" the bear let out a deafening roar as he rode past, almost hitting me in the process, and into the distance, all the while Law let out a carefree cackle of glee as he disappeared behind some houses.

I clutched my chest as the fluttery feeling still didn't leave...and the urge for Trafalgar to come back littered my mind.
