Chapter 36: Secure
"Gahhhhh!" Anzhong screams, eyes bulging, twisting under the hero's grip as he is pushed to the ground and given a hard punch to the face.
Aizawa sneers. "You fucking disgusting piece of trash," he growls, punching the man again and silencing his next choked scream. "Never." Punch. "Touch." Punch. "My." Punch. "Students." Punch.
With ragged breaths, Aizawa hunches over Anzhong's black and blue form that lies motionlessly on the ground, unconscious. The criminal's accomplice, Suzuki, who Aizawa had ambushed and dealt with, promising a not-as-harsh jail time if he works with him, cowers against a wall. Aizawa takes a deeper, steadying breath while he pulls out his phone, shooting off a quick message to the other heroes to let them know that he got the situation under control, but backup would still be appreciated. At the moment, Midnight is getting closer with Kirishima at her side, so Aizawa makes sure to tell her to wait with Kirishima outside until Aizawa knows Bakugou's situation. All Might should be about ten minutes out with Cementoss and Thirteen, and Snipe, Mic, and Ectoplasm should follow up a little under ten minutes after All Might's group arrives, since they went to pick up Recovery Girl just in case they need her. Aizawa has an unsettling feeling that they will.
Shoving his phone into his pocket, Aizawa ties up the villain securely and sends a terrifying warning glance toward Suzuki before he hastily gets up from the villain he had—admittedly uncharacteristically—beaten black and blue. With urgency, he rushes into the room Anzhong had opened, and he scans over the dim and nearly empty little room. Aizawa's widened eyes almost immediately land on Bakugou.
Bakugou's clothes are disheveled, tears and snot running messily all over his flushed blotchy red face. His hair messily outlines his head, with some sticking to his forehead from sweat, and his chest heaves tremulous, irregular breaths. A small trail of blood dribbles down Bakugou's chin, contrasting the painful-looking bite marks oozing blood from his neck and peck onto his shirt, blood already smeared messily around their areas with visible finger-marks like a finger-painting from hell. The boy's pants are open, pulled down his thighs, and his boxers are lopsided and low. Aizawa grits his teeth and clenches his fists as he practically sprints over to his student, staying low to the ground and kneeling beside him, hands hovering with protective energy.
"Bakugou, can you hear me?" Aizawa asks urgently, finally drawing his eyes from where they had been stuck to his student's destroyed body and looking into Bakugou's with a furrow to his brow.
Bakugou's teary red bloodshot eyes close, squeezing out a couple tears that trail down his cheeks over the wet tracks already there. Shakily, he nods, lip wobbling.
Aizawa takes in a relieved breath, but his job is not finished. "Can you move?"
A shake of the head.
Inwardly cursing, Aizawa feels fear rush through him. "Do you know why you can't move?" he asks, doing his utmost to keep his voice smooth and collected.
Bakugou is silent for a moment, opens his mouth, cannot push any words out of it, and closes it again. Tensely, Aizawa waits. After another few moments of silent tears, rapid breaths, and a wobbly lip, Bakugou pulls his mouth open again and speaks in a shaky whisper, voice cracking as he chokes out the words over his tears, "Dru-drugs. Paralytics. Pu-put m-me-e to sleep w-with someth-thing e-else before th-tha-at. He d-didn't get to d-do...y-y'know y-yet, th-though-gh." Finishing, Bakugou clamps his teeth together to prevent any more of this wretched humiliation and weakness.
Aizawa nods dutifully. "Thank you. That is all I needed to know. Recovery girl and some of the other heroes will be here soon, and she will heal your wounds. Kirishima is coming, too, but we won't let him see you if that is not fine with you..." Aizawa trails off with a question in his eyes. Bakugou nods an okay, and Aizawa returns the gesture in response before continuing, "For now, I have Anzhong and an accomplice in custody. I want to bring you outside to get you out of here and will have to carry you." When Bakugou's muscles tense, Aizawa adds, "I'll fix up your clothes a bit. Don't worry about appearance right now." Bakugou clenches and unclenches his jaw a few times but relents, nodding again in affirmation.
True to his word, Aizawa carefully pulls down Bakugou's shirt and fixes his pants. Carefully, he heaves Bakugou's torso from the ground and into an unsteady sitting position, Bakugou's body trying to flop back bonelessly to the ground, unable to support itself. Bakugou scoffs at his own weakness, and Aizawa lightly scolds him with no real sternness behind the words. Finally deeming Bakugou dressed well enough to be presentable, though imperfect and splotched with blood, Aizawa pulls his capture weapon from his neck and wraps it loosely around Bakugou's to cover him more, especially the bite mark. No pedestrian spectator would know what happened. They may think the boy was beaten up or fought somebody, but nobody would suspect the truth.
Maneuvering them a bit, Aizawa pulls Bakugou onto his back, and Bakugou hides his face in Aizawa's neck just as Thirteen, Cementoss, and All Might rush into the hallway with a racket, feet hammering against the ground. Meeting them at the door, Aizawa whispers commandingly, "You three take these two. I made a deal with the one freaking out at the wall, and he helped distract Anzhong in exchange for slightly shorter prison sentence, but he is the asshole who transported Anzhong into and out of Bakugou's dorm. He says he didn't know what was happening, but he's an accomplice and has his services up in the black market nonetheless. Don't let him get away." Turning a disgusted sneer toward Anzhong's body, now awake and struggling profusely against his restraints on the ground, Aizawa says, "And definitely don't let this nasty piece of shit get away again."
Finally addressing the concerned glances the heroes send Bakugou's way, Aizawa holds up his chin and firmly says, "Bakugou is going to be fine." He feels his student turn his head down further at his name, but does not mention it as he turns to head down the hall and toward the exit. Aizawa stops a few paces away, tossing over his shoulder blandly, "Actually, I lied. The accomplice gets full jail time, anyway." He continues walking.
"What?" Suzuki screeches at Aizawa's retreating form, lurching from his position at the wall. Anger bleeds into the terror on his face as he weakly fights against the heroes in a pathetic attempt to get away, throwing scrawny-armed punches that Cementoss swats from the air before grabbing hold of the man's wrists and cuffing them in cement. "No, you can't do this! That guy said—"
Thirteen slaps the man across the face as he continues his attempts to fight against Cementoss. "Nothing like that was ever put on paper, and, quite frankly, you deserve this," she says dangerously. The criminal's shocked frozen expression pleases her more than she should admit, and Cementoss heads down the hall with the guy without preamble. Bending over, All Might picks up Anzhong's writhing form. The man screams muffled words of rage from behind a thick strip of tape that adds some value to his puffy, colorful face. All Might's grim expression testifies that he is not going to be dealing with any of the man's nonsense, and he gives him a quick knock to the head to knock him out before tossing him over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, not being careful with him in the slightest as he makes his way out of the building following Cementoss, and Thirteen trails behind them, monitoring their surroundings.

Kicking the exit door open, Aizawa steps outside, still steadily holding under Bakugou's legs to keep the boy securely on his back. Over by a tree stand Midnight and Kirishima, who nervously paces in a small circle, an expression of terror on his face as he gnaws on a nail with his sharp teeth, one hand tucked under an elbow held tightly to his side.
When a concerned Midnight and the distraught Kirishima look up and see Aizawa making his way toward them, the two rush his way. Kirishima's heart breaks at the sight of Bakugou's messy-haired limp body, arms and legs dangling in front of Aizawa. "I—is he okay?" Kirishima chokes out, tearful eyes not once leaving Bakugou's downturned head, even if he cannot see his face. The small twitch of movement he sees when he speaks gives him some hope, but the worry still wins over.
Aizawa nods. "For now, we just need Recovery Girl to heal him, and we are going back to UA." Bakugou's shoulders tense, and Aizawa's eyes flicker toward the spiky head beside his own. "I will be figuring out a way to make sure he feels safe there myself, and it will be implemented as soon as possible," he adds, looking back at Kirishima seriously, and Kirishima gives a firm nod back. "I will likely discuss how best to do this with Bakugou as well, but for now he needs rest and time to heal."
The three lapse into silence while Kirishima squirms on his feet, the heroes waiting patiently for him to speak. "Can.... Can I—" Kirishima cuts himself off, hands hovering towards Bakugou, speaking quite clearly about his unverbalized wish.
Feeling his own body tense protectively, Aizawa considers the unspoken request. He ends up going with the best option he can think of, considering that Recovery Girl is still a few minutes out. "Bakugou," he begins softly, "Kirishima would like me to pass you to him." It is not a question. It does not speak of Bakugou's inability to move himself, though it is obviously recognized. All this says is Kirishima's wish, so, if Bakugou wants, he can easily refuse or accept with no strain to his ego.
It is silent for a few moments, Midnight shifting from leg to leg as she watches hesitantly, and Kirishima feels his fingers fidgeting while he fights off his lower lip's wish to wobble. At long last, Bakugou raises his head slightly, and he makes eye contact with Kirishima. Kirishima feels his heart clench at the boy's messy flushed face and watery red eyes, but he waits nonetheless. Receiving a nod from Bakugou moments later, Aizawa directs Kirishima to sit on a bench not far from the tree, and the student does so immediately. Carefully, Aizawa deposits Bakugou with him, and they maneuver the two so that Bakugou has his face hidden in Kirishima's neck like he had been doing with Aizawa, but this time he shoves his face down more desperately, his arms twitching in a way that shows he wants to grab on to Kirishima but cannot. Folding his arms carefully around the smaller boy, Kirishima firmly hugs Bakugou to himself, and Bakugou finally feels so much more secure and safe. He feels his eyes closing softly as his tears slow to a mild drip past his wet lashes. He fights against fate and tries not to fall asleep when he feels a hand begin to card through his hair, but when a low hum starts up from Kirishima's chest, off-key and a bit choked from tears yet calming nonetheless, Bakugou loses his battle and feels his exhaustion overcome him at last.
Recovery Girl arrives soon after, giving Bakugou a soft healing kiss before the heroes guide Kirishima into the car they had brought, careful not to jostle Bakugou's sleeping form.
