Chapter 29: Court

Nothing good lasts forever, no matter how much anyone hopes it will. People can struggle for what they want and put their valiant efforts towards a certain cause, but it is inevitable, even if they save the world in their time alive, that everything will once again lapse into chaos. We learn history to keep it from repeating itself, yet it repeats itself so terribly often. Sometimes this is good, but more noticeably it is a tragedy.

When Aizawa Shouta steps into the courtroom for the first day of the trial, hair tied up and in formal attire bar his capture weapon, it is in the hope and conviction that he can find his student solace and safety against those who have wronged him. This step, Aizawa would admit, is even taken in the hopes of righting some of his own wrongs against his student.

He is glad that Bakugou decided not to sit in on the trial. That would likely have gone terribly wrong and messed with the kid's brain. As for the decision he made to sit in on the end, when the criminals will face their charges, Aizawa is proud of his student's foresight and understanding of the reason behind the trial and jail. It's not only meant to keep the victims of crimes safe, but to also ensure that the person, and all people who could be affected, know that they are safe and can feel that way.

Aizawa stalks past the nearly empty seats, the case not being open to the public due to Bakugou's status as a minor. He does, however, see a few familiar faces filling up some of the spots nearer to the front of the gallery. Namely, he sees Midnight, Present Mic, Vlad King, All Might, Cementoss, and some other pros who have taken up teaching at UA. Nodding at each of his comrades, Aizawa's gaze pauses on the Bakugou parents, Mitsuki and Masaru, sitting in the first row of the gallery. He halts his step, turns, and bows to them respectfully, earning back nods of the head and firm gazes that convey their trust in him to get their son victory and peace in this case. Continuing in his path, Aizawa passes by their rows and through the swinging door between the sections of seats. Taking a hard right, he proceeds to sit next to Principal Nezu in one of the plaintiff chairs that faces the judge's bench.

To Aizawa's left, their lawyer, one of the best there is, as only the best would be hired by UA for one of their own students in such an important case, sits. She is a tall woman, named Manaka Aoi, wearing a confident-looking black suit. Aizawa and Nezu had been chosen to be the plaintiffs of this case because of both their intellectual genius and their status as Bakugou's homeroom teacher, who has been the one most forcefully pushing the case forward, and the principal of his school, respectively. All in all, the three sitting at the plaintiff's table are an intimidating force to be reckoned with.

It takes about another twenty minutes for the rest of the people to filter into the room, including the jury, Detective Tsukauchi, who is participating as the police detective, and other staffing. Last to enter are the defendants, and Aizawa grips the arms of his chair tightly as he watches the four men stalk in behind their lawyer and trailed by police officers. He knows his eyes have turned red, but there is nothing he can do to force away the reaction, even when he feels Nezu's paw rest firmly on his arm as a message to calm himself down and remain stoic.

Aizawa takes a deep and measured breath once that message gets through his muddled and angered brain after finally having seen the sickening men who he has been waiting to get imprisoned permanently. Right now, he needs to be calm and collected so that he can perfectly argue their case and get the court proceedings over and those men in prison as quickly as possible.

Finally calmer, Aizawa glances around and noticed his colleagues' likewise angry gazes piercing into the criminals, and he cannot help but grin slightly.

As for the four perpetrators of the crimes against Bakugou, they all wear muted minty colored prison uniforms. Aizawa feels his eyes flicker over each of them appraisingly, noting who is who. The one furthest from Aizawa, the center of the room, and the defendants' lawyer, is the plain-looking and short guy with the chain quirk, Tetsuya, whose real name, he had learned, is Ito Nobuhiko. Next to him is Moyashi, or Ikeda Itsuki, the lanky green-bean-looking criminal with long vomit-green hair, green skin, a bull nose ring, and slitted eyes. To Moyashi's right is Claws, or Higuchi Shingo, with his purple eyes and black and yellow undercut clashing horribly. Aizawa glances to the man's hands, which he has rested on the table, and notes that his nails look normal, likely because of the effects of the quirk-nullifying handcuffs on the four criminals not allowing the man to turn them into knife-like claws.

Then Aizawa looks at the fourth man, or should he say the first, next to the lawyer. Anzhong. Hashimoto Anzhong, to be exact. True to Bakugou's description, the leader of the disgusting little criminal gang is pretty tall, with a piercing in his nose and in his eyebrow, which is vibrant pink just like his hair. The man's piercing golden eyes flick to the sides of his eyes as if he knows Aizawa is observing him, and the two catch each other's eyes. Aizawa feels his stomach drop and his heart clench when Anzhong smiles sickeningly, eyebrows curving upwards as his eyes crease, making an expression of pleasure as he runs his tongue slowly over his lips.

Aizawa's eyes go wide and anger fills him, but he can't help but watch closely as the man mouths a few silent words at him: he was absolutely delectable.

Aizawa lurches from his chair, losing his composure and aiming at maiming the disgusting freak in front of him, but Manaka, the lawyer, stands abruptly and gets in his way.

"Move," Aizawa grumbles, hair and scarf beginning to float while his eyes turn red, still pinned on the sick bastard still gleefully staring at him across the gap between tables.

Manaka puts a strong hand on Aizawa's shoulder and pushes him onto his chair with surprising strength. She sits down as well, though far more collectedly, and whispers, "I know you are disgusted, and I am honestly glad that you feel so strongly about this, but we need this to go smoothly for Bakugou-kun. You attacking the defendant will only help them and hurt us."

Aizawa's brow furrows, but he nods. As he settles back into his seat, he shoots one last look at the defendants' table, where the lawyer is quietly murmuring to his clients. A disturbing afterthought hits him when he does so. Are they not sitting in the order in which they committed the crime...? Aizawa's eyes betray his shock at the audacity of the criminals, and Anzhong once again turns his gaze from his lawyer and throws Aizawa a grin before the beginning of the trial is announced.

"All rise. The court is now in session."

Then, the judge walks in.

After re-describing the bitches, I realized that Anzhong low key would look related to Ashido, like in the way Muscular and Bakugou look kinda similar, but imma let that one slide because we already have enough chaos on our hands 😌🤚

Also, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW COURT WORKS SO PLS IGNORE MY STUPIDITY IF THINGS ARE INCORRECT!!! I'm kinda just looking stuff up as I go ;-; as for the green uniforms, I looked up what color prison uniforms are in Japan, and it seems that most are a kinda muddled minty color, so I went with that lol
