Narrator's POV

Greece sighed as he sat by some pillars, deep in an ancient maze, with only a cat for comfort.  Greece looked up at the sky, feeling philosophical.

"Practicing philosophy are you not Greece?"  A voice said, making Greece turn to see what he had been waiting for; the centaur of the maze, otherwise known as [name].

"Hmm."  Greece hummed, watching lazily as [name] trotted towards him, standing on the other side of the pillar.

"So, tell me, what brings you here once more?"  [name] asked, acting as she always did; formally, as if she were a knight addressing her lord.

"I felt like it..."  Greece said, staring up at the sky, now turning a brilliant orange as the sun began its descent.

"I can not begin to guess as to why you wish to do so, seeing as you always ask me to lead you out once you get to the center."  [name] stated, and Greece had to admit; what she said was very much true.

From the first time they met, when he was young and had wandered into the maze, getting lost, to even now, hundreds of years later, Greece himself would still wander in, stopping at their usual meeting place, and be unable to escape.

"With all the wandering here you do, I'm surprised you haven't reached the end."  [name] said, pulling the Greek male's mind back to reality.

"... There's an end?"  Greece asked.  The centaur snorted.

"Of course their is,"  She said indignantly.  "All mazes have a way in, and a proper way to get out."

"So why do you always lead me out the way I came in?"  Greece asked.

"Because it is closer to where you live."  [name] answered quite simply.  Greece nodded, silence taking over till another question came to him.

"What's at the end?"  Greece asked.  [name] eyed him.

"..."  Greece looked to her.

"Do you... not know?"  Greece asked.  [name] blushed and furiously shook her head.

"N-no, it's not that, it's just..."  [name] averted her eyes, shifting on her feet.  Greece watched as she did this, rarely having seen her so uncomfortable.  "It's, um, a secret..."  She said.  Greece looked at her.

"Is there... a prize for getting to the end?"  He asked.  [name] gave a slight shrug.

"Of sorts..."  She said.  This made Greece curious.

"[name], will you take me to the end?"  Greece asked.  [name]'s eyes flashed furiously in his direction.

"Absolutely not!"  She yelled, her face turning red with anger.  She then stormed off, leaving only dust behind.  Greece sighed, leaning back on the pillar.

"I wonder what it is..."  He stated, absentmindedly petting his cat.  Though, soon he stood up, deciding to go see for himself.

So Greece began to walk the way the [h/c]-haired centaur had gone off, wandering about, careful for the many traps that [name] had warned him of.  And he was doing so well, that is, till he came face to face with some sort of huge Venus Flytrap with moving vines.

"Eh?"  Greece jumped out of the way as one of the vines tried to strike him, his cat jumping from his arms and running off into the maze.  Greece let out a sigh, knowing the cat would be fine.

Though, as soon as Greece sighed, the plant's vines managed to get around him, tightening around his body, making him unable to move, and making it harder to breathe.

'Is this... the end...?'  Greece wondered as he tried to break free.  But before the creature could do more, the sound of galloping hooves came close till an arrow was shot from behind Greece, hitting the vine that was wrapped around him like a snake.  The plant let out a shriek, dropping Greece who landed on his feet.  Greece righted himself and stared at the plant.

"Don't just stand there!"  [name] yelled, grabbing Greece by the back of his collar, pulling him back and onto her back, galloping off.  Greece wrapping his arms around her torso tightly, knowing that centaurs ran fast.  Though Greece relaxed once he saw that they had arrived back at the center of the maze where they always met.

"You're very lucky your cat found me."  [name] said, bending down to let Greece off.  Greece got off her, picking up his cat that had been waiting on the ground, and looked at her.

"My cat found you...?"  He asked.  [name] nodded.

"Yes, and what were you thinking?  I've told you for hundreds of years that the maze is dangerous, especially the farther in you go."  She lectured.

"To see the end."  Greece answered simply.  [name] snorted, glaring into the Greek's eyes.

"That's not worth nearly being eaten by a plant.  Now,"  [name] turned away and headed over towards the exit that would lead to the entrance.  "Are you coming?  The sun will be completely down in 10 minutes."  Greece nodded, walking over to her.

"Thank you."  He said.

"For what?  I always lead you out."  [name] said, her [e/c]-colored eyes staring at the Greek.

"No, for saving me."  Greece said nonchalantly.  [name]'s cheeks began to go red.

"J-just don't do that again."  She said, making the Greek man smile.

"No promises."  He said, reaching for her hand, making her blush only worsen.

"T-then you can find your own way out!"  She said, breaking away from him and retreating into the maze, leaving Greece lost in the maze.

'And she wonders why I always come back,'  Greece thought with a chuckle, scratching his cat and heading back to the center of the maze, knowing that after the sun had finished setting the [h/c]-haired centaur would be back to escort him to safety.
