Chapter 35 - No Hero
Herobrine Pov
"HERO-Mmpf" her voice was muffled out by the figure holding a hand to her mouth to keep her silent, using his other hand to hold both of her arms behind her back as she flailed to escape his grasp.
I couldn't help but stare in shock for 2 seconds before I felt a burning rage inside my core heat up like any other before.
"LET HER GO!" I screamed, not knowing I could scream this loud, the adrenaline inside my body almost felt like I had all my power back for this instant just so I could save her, and as I ran forward just a moment, I recognized the room, the room I built ages to make when I was younger to explore another world, the portal room...
Just as I was about to reach full speed to head to be the hero I never thought I could be, I stopped.
For a moment, I had no idea why I stopped, was it his powers? My body being unable to handle such an intimidating presence? No, it was neither of those, it was something in my core that I've never felt before in my life until I lost my every inch of power, a feeling so terrible it made you feel weak and small, like a petty human crawling up in a ball and begging for mercy. The feeling of being below someone, the feeling of a murderous aura of a predator staring down on its prey. What was this feeling called again? I haven't felt anything like this in my whole entire life. Why couldn't my unpredictable mind find the problem in my answers?
"Heh" I heard a chuckle above me, not noticing I was staring at the ground for too long to notice what was happening. "You scared?" My brother asked me in a sinister voice.
So that was the answer I was looking for huh? Fear.. I was in fear? But what about him made it different than all the other times we encountered him? Was it his burning fiery eyes? His dark and intimidating aura that perienced every being in this room? Or was it his sharp and sincere happy smile that stretched across his face as he pointed his sword toward (Y/N)'s throat causing blood to slide down her skin.
"Aw, you poor thing" He chuckled at my weak form which I still had no answer for. "Your frail form is evidence of how much you've become human, little brother, and how you will die as a human with this little girl"
"I'm not..." I heard a mumble of a voice that wasn't involved in our conversation we both slowly tilted our eyes toward the small voice, and this was the first time i've never seen so much determination in (Y/N)'s eyes, her legs were shaking, her body was weak to the sword pointing at her throat, but why didn't she look scared?
"Im..not.. A LITTLE GIRL!" she screamed at the top of her lungs which pierced through my every core, I couldn't help but plug my ears and close my eyes from the impact that I didn't even notice that the room began to shake like an earthquake, little piles of stones hitting me and I squinted my eyes open to see what was happening. And for a splint second, there was a glow in her eyes, staring straight at me.
Never have I seen a human like her, a human not afraid of death when it was piercing the tip of their skin,so powerful it can shake anyone to their core, so determined they can make everyone in the room turn their eyes to them, a human determined to do anything for what they desired, i've heard of them in fairy tale stories and picture books, but never have a witnessed one in my whole entire life, of all the people I killed and hunted down, she was like no other. What was it about her that made me feel so weak?
The grip of Notch loosened, and she took this opportunity to use every being to escape his full grasp, she wiggled free until he loosened enough to notice and held her tighter, struggling to stand straight within the shaking room. She turned around and elbowed him in the stomach as hard as she could, resulting in a grunt of pain from him. When he let go, she ran down the steps towards me, but as the room began to slowly revert back to its normal self, her eyes slowly closed and her body went entirely limp on the floor halfway across the room.
This was my chance to rescue her, this was my chance to be the hero I always dreamed of being as a child,I ran towards her, using my every will and power to reach her in time, but I wasn't fast enough. Notch was already there to swing her whole body in his arms when I nearly there, I was so close but yet not close enough.
I looked up, and before I knew it I was flung across the hall, my head pounding against some stone coughing up some blood that was starting to pour out of my mouth and before I knew it, he was walking up the staircase.
I staggered to get up as fast as I could, but the pain in my back to unbearable and my body gave up on me before I could decide to, I held my chest and tried to breath, but It felt like boulders of weight on my lungs were being pushed onto me every time I took a single breath of air. I looked up, closing one eye as blood started to pour over it, and decided to ignore the pain.
I wasn't weak, I wasn't going to give into the presence of a human. I stood up and ran toward the staircase, as fast as I could I run. When I looked up a blurry image of my brother carrying (Y/n) was all my eyes were fixed on, he reached the top of the staircase, and within a moment he was gone.
My heart sang to my core as I ran with all my might up the stairs, and when I got up, all I could see was lava.
"NO!" I screamed, looking around at the eyes of ender around it, and my whole body shook when I saw one was missing. He must have taken one out last minute... There was nothing I could do, nothing I could do except kneel to the ground and groan over all the pain I was feeling right now. All the pain I felt was nothing unusual from the other fights, but there was an unbearable amount of pain coming from my heart.
I was a mere human now, too weak to do anything except kneel to my knees and beg for mercy. I was a human that couldn't handle pain and was too weak to do anything even if I used all my power, and I'm definitely not a hero.
As I held my body from the pain, I heard footsteps behind me, followed by groans and crattled sounds of skeletons and zombies, the squirming of silverfish and the hissing of spiders and creepers becoming slowly louder and louder as I felt my body give up on me. There was nothing I could do anyway, I wasn't strong enough, I dont have my powers to tame anything and make others fear me anymore, I was weak and there was nothing I could do but accept that.
3rd Person
He held her In his arms, her body limp and slowly swaying back and forth, he couldn't help but smile as he looked down on her. She was so beautiful it made it hard for him to stop looking, but he couldn't help but stop as he was approaching a large structure in The End.
Tons of enderman were outside, looking at him as he walked by with the girl in his arms, he never liked the way they stared at him but he wasn't allowed to look at them straight in the eyes, even if they wouldn't attack him either way, it felt unsettling.
As he got closer, the structure got bigger and bigger, forming a huge castle with a gate and many endermen guards surrounding it, and as he approached, they made him stop at the gates. They stared at him with intense looks on their faces, like they were ready to strike at him if he dared move another inch.
"What?" He asked before he looked down at his arms, "Oh dear me, sorry about that soldiers, I was just in a fight and got little carried away, so I forgot," He signed as bright lights came over him, his whole body lit up with immense brightness that made even the endermen flinch at the sight, and when the light slowly faded away, he was back in his normal form.
His dark body held the girl in front of him and his white cloak draped over his entire body as he looked at the endermen with his dark red eyes.
"Can I come in now?" He asked. They lifted up their intimidating auras and continued to look into the distance for any nearby threats that might come as he smiled as he walked by them with a cocky attitude. He walked up a long set of steps and when he finally reached up to look up at the throne and who was sitting on it.
As he approached closer the dark figures' eyes looked down at his arms and looked in shock for a moment, until he found composure and decided to speak.
"Is that her?" he asked in a dark and broody voice that could make everyone around him kneel with its own very power.
"Yup," He said, holding the girl up a little to show his king the prized possession he obtained, "We found her."
