Chapter 4|Settled In
Link sat at the old lady's dining room table, scarfing down the food she gratefully gave him. He hadn't realized how hungry he was; all the excitement was distracting. It turns out her name was Eden, which was a nice name, and suitable.
"Dearie me, you sure are hungry young man." she chuckled. Link looked up, swallowing the food in his mouth so he wasn't talking with his mouth full. "Yeah, I haven't eaten in awhile. My.. Family is far away, so I don't have anyone to give me food or anything." He laughed nervously. The lady gasped. "Oh! Do you have anywhere to stay, Son?" She asked in concern. She was kind of like a sweet grandmother. "No, not at the moment. I was asking if there was a place right when I fell into you.." He let out another nervous laugh. "Oh, dear. You can stay here, for the time being. You remind me of my younger days, anywho!"
Link was taken aback by this kind generosity. "Really?" He asked. "Of course. As long as you get a job if you plan on staying long term- Or at least doing me a few favors!" she laughed. "Ah, I don't know if anyone will hire me.. I'll certainly do you favors, though. It's the least I could do?" Link smiled politely.
"Of course. I'll get your room ready- I forgot a few things around town, though. If you could get them for me, that'd be very kind of you, son." she smiled and handed him a list of the things she had lost. "Now run along! I have work to do."

Link had retrieved a few things on the list; A jar of milk, a large brassiere(Which made Link blush dark red when the tailor gave it to him!), and 50 rupees from a merchant who owed her. All that was left was to give the 50 rupees to the temple priest for the weekly offering, "To ward off bad luck!" As Eden put it.
Link was surprised at how silent the temple area was.. yet it was serene and peaceful. A nice break from all the excitement of the market. Link walked along the path, which cut through a shallow pond, although it was.. Murky. Link continued into the temple.
Inside, the priest was performing some sort of ritual. But it felt.. evil. A black sphere was held in her hands as she giggled, placing it over a stone. "Hee hee.. Finally. Finally..! Soon, the goddesses themselves will bow before me..." She lifted up the sphere, into the air. Light that shone through an elegant glass window was darkened as it travelled through the sphere. "Yes! Yes!!" And then the sphere grew, until it became.. an opening.
"Finall-" And then, a hand reached out. and grabbed her, dragging her in.
Then the portal snapped shut, and everything was back to normal. Link was FREAKING OUT. What the hell even was that-? He paused his thoughts as wind picked him up yet again. It gently pulled him towards the glass window- where the light shone. Through the glass sun he went, as if it were the thinnest layer of water droplets. "Hero.." A voice whispered. Okay, that's not true. Three voices whispered, in unison. "Hero, we called you here... Find the sword.. The bane of all evils.." And then, he was shoved out of the window again, as if time reversed, and he was suddenly back in the temple, where he was before.
The sword?
