Hero ex Machina (Hero from the Machine) Chapter 2
Welcome everyone back to My Hero Academia story, Hero ex Machina (Hero from the Machine). With me today is my friend, Tkdboy2000.
Tkdboy: Woah!! (There's a crashing sound). Aw, man... oh. Uh... Hey! Welcome back! Still in the middle of a grammar check...
It's fine. Oh, there is one thing I need to tell you. I brought a guest in today.
Tkdboy: Really? Who?
Izuku: (Walks in) "Uh, hello? I'm here to do the disclaimer."
Tkdboy: Oh, hey Izuku! Wait... how did you break the fourth wall to get here?
That was me. I bring in a character from the stories I write to do spice up this part. It doesn't affect the world itself. He won't even remember, unless we bring him back.
Izuku: "That sounds really powerful."
Tkdboy: ...Yeah. Don't be surprised if I do something too.
I take turns with my partners pick who comes in.
Izuku: "Shouldn't I do the disclaimer, also, why did you give me a Quirk?"
Oh, yes, it just that, you're one of the best people in MHA, and you deserve some happiness in your life.
Tkdboy: Yeah, he's got a point. You deserve something.
Izuku: (Looked up tearfully) "R-Really?"
You've got the makings for greatness, Izuku. This is just a reward for pushing hard in a world that pushes you down.
Tkdboy: Yeah. Just try to not break anything. Please?
Izuku: (Sweatdrops) "I'll try not to. I should do the disclaimer now."
Yeah. Go ahead.
Izuku: "Both Light/Xara and Tkdboy don't own My Hero Academia and Gundam, just OCs and changes to the story. Do you think that was good?"
Not all disclaimers have to be long ones.
Tkdboy: Yeah. I've seen some short ones.
And with that, let's get onto the chapter.

Chapter 2: Changes and Upgrades
Izuku was back at school the next day, brough by his mother who was lay such a verbal lashing at the principle for all that happened at school Izuku told her. Let's just say, she wasn't happy, and the principle was cowering form her wrath.
Izuku had caught up with his friends, while getting people who did a double take after seeing Izuku's new look.
Soshi was sleeping at his desk, as per usual, while Scolo followed behind Izuku. He doesn't quite know his own strength yet, as far as she knows, and if someone attempts anything, he might accidentally kill them. At least, if Atlas doesn't intervene in time. Hansuke was at his desk building something that looked like a handle to something.
"I see you've been turning heads bro," Hansuke told Izuku.
"... Has Bakugo seen you yet?" Scolo asked Izuku. She hadn't heard him screaming at all.
"N-Not yet," he answered. "I-I was brought here by my mom." The other winced, thinking they knew why she was here.
"... Oh dear..." Scolo said, worried.
"... Snrk... Huh, wha...?" Soshi was waking up.
"Looks like sleeping beauty is up," Hansuke stated, finishing the hilt gadget.
"Quiet... I'd been working all night on something..." Soshi yawns.
Atlas appeared, shocking the students even more. [May I ask what you two have been working on?] They asked the two inventors.
Hansuke showed two things. "I made my first AI and a Beam Katana like in the shows."
Izuku's eyes widen in awe. "For me?"
"... Also... made an AI..." Soshi said tiredly.
"I'm guessing Atlas was able to help you make them?" Izuku asked.
"No... on my own..." Soshi says, then he yawns.
"Both from Atlas and Soshi," Hansuke answered. He then turned to Soshi. "Want to show them to Izuku? I have three more I'm almost finished with."
"Alright... (yawn) Might make one for myself, too..." Soshi says tiredly. He looks like he might fall back asleep.
Hansuke got a thermos from his bag with Soshi's favorite drink to help him wake up. "Here." He then pulls out a Holoprojector for their AIs. "And there's are for the Ais." He then turns to Scolo. "Guessing you're still worried about Izuku's new abilities?"
Soshi took it and started drinking.
"Yeah... has he done any training with his strength? What if he accidentally hurts someone?" Scolo questioned, worried.
[His strength isn't that much higher than it was before he transformed,] Atlas explained. [It only doubled wat it was before, so not by much. He needs to train to get stronger grip and all that.]
"Ah. Good, that's good, don't want him accidentally killing anyone..." Scolo muttered to herself. Hansuke chopped her on the head. Scolo winced and started rubbing her head.
"You're acting like Soshi," Hansuke told her. "This is Izuku we're talking about."
"R-Right... sorry..." Scolo said, still rubbing her head.
"Oh, no, I get it," Izuku said, waving his hands up. "I just got this Quirk, so I still need to figure it out. I did learn one new thing though."
"Really? What?" Scolo asked, now curious.
Just then a mask came onto Izuku's face, looking like the face of the original Gundam. "I have a face armor that gives me more for my sight abilities." This made more of his classmates to do a doubletake.
"Okay, that's awesome," Hansuke told Izuku.
"That's interesting," Soshi said in a robotic monotone.
Izuku made the mask retracked. "So, are you going to show me the Ais you guys made?" he asked his two genius friends."
"Ah, right, almost forgot," Hansuke stated, getting a second holo-projector out for Soshi's AI. "I'd like you to meet my first AI, Jeeves." Just then, what looked like a Robotic Butler appeared in the hologram after he put the chip in.
[Greetings,] he greeted them. [I am the AI program, know as Jeeves. It's a pleasure to meet you all.]
"And here's mine," Soshi said.
A girl with blonde hair with multicolored accents appeared. She was dressed in all black, and had metallic wings.
[Greetings,] Soshi's AI states, [I am AI 4D-4. You can just call me Ada.]
"...Not very creative with names, are you, Soshi?" Scolo asked him.
"I make things, not name them," Soshi responds.
"I think it's fine," Izuku and Hansuke told her.
Just then they heard the door to the classroom slam open and in came a pissed of Katsuki, seeing Izuku. Scolo immediately hid behind Hansuke, not wanting to see what happens next.
"What the actual hell..." he growls at Izuku.
'This isn't going to end well...' Hansuke though, worried about Izuku.
He grabbed Izuku's collar of his uniform, that was a tight on Izuku now because of his new body. "What the hell are you pulling here Deku...!?" Katsuki growled at Izuku, face to his.
"Why do you always assume he's pulling something?" Soshi says, then yawns, "Just accept the fact that something happened. Or are you too pig-headed to see that?"
"Shut it Hacker!" Katsuki barked. "It's because there's no goddamn way for him to have a Quirk! This is probable just junk you two build to make it look like he has one!"
[Actually,] Atlas started, appearing and surprising the blond bomber, [he did activate his Quirk. It was just that he had to have it unlock by a passphrase.]
"What the fuck is that...?" Katsuki asked, looking at Atlas.
"AI. Never heard of them? They're getting more advanced if they're showing up in Quirks," Soshi stated, still with his robotic monotone.
[Yes, I am actually a part of Izuku's Quirk,] Atlas told Katsuki. [I am a living Quirk, or a living aspect of it. Would I be considered a living Quirk?] they asked, turning to the other three.
"Maybe 50/50," Hansuke said, shaking his hand.
"I'unno," Soshi stated.
"M-Maybe...?" Scolo says, confused.
"Guess it's another thing we have to go over with his Quirk-" Hansuke started, but Katsuki interrupted him by shouting.
"THERE'S NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE A GODDAMN QUIRK!" he shouted, then grabbed Izuku's head, trying to pull it off, think it was a helmet. "AND I'LL PRIOVE IT!!!"
"That's not a helmet, Bakugo," Soshi stated in his normal monotone.
"You think he'd believe you...?" Hansuke and Scolo asked in a deadpan.
"Nope," Soshi stated, "but it was worth a shot."
Katsuki was pulling, but it wasn't coming off, no matter how hard. "WHY WON'T THIS DAMN HELMET COME OFF!"
"It's not a helmet, it's my head now," Izuku told him.
"BULLSHIT!" he shouted but let go. "FINE, IF IT IS, SHOW ME IT'S A PART OF YOUR HEAD."
"How am I to do-?" Izuku stated to ask.
[I believe I can help with that,] Atlas told them. [I have an x-ray of his body now.]
"Then what are you waiting for!? Show him!" Scolo shouts.
Atlas did just that and showed that his body was now covered in metal armor skin now and even his bones were as well.
"... Even the bones. Nice," Soshi says, still drinking the Boathouse Vanilla Chai.
"Huh, guess it wasn't his outer body that changed as well," Hansuke stated.
"I didn't know I had X-Ray," Izuku said.
"Must be a new program. Say... vision?" Soshi inquired.
Bakugo was just standing there bewildered. He then shouted at the four, "THERE'S NO WAY THIS IS REAL!"
[It is, in fact, 100% accurate to Izuku's new body,] Atlas told him.
[Indeed, my scans show the same thing,] Jeeves agreed with his fellow AI.
[Same here,] Ada stated.
"There. Proof. Now stop shouting," Soshi says as he puts the thermos down.
"THERE NO WAY THIS WEAK PATHETIC LOSER HAS A QUIRK!" Katsuki shot back. "HE SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE ONE! HE'S BELOW ME, AND BELOW YOU! YOU SHOULD BE AROUND A LOSER WHO IS NOTHING BUT SCUM TO THIS EARTH! HE'LL NEVER BE ANYTHING IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO MATTER AT ALL!"
Scolo was holding her antennas and wincing. Sensory overload, Bakugo was being way too loud.
"K-Kacchan, please calm down, you're hurting Sco-" Izuku tried to calm him down.
"DON'T FUCKING TELL ME WHAT TO DO DEKU!" he roars at him.
"Seriously.... shut up," Soshi said. Still with that monotone... but you could tell he was getting angry from the twitch in his eye.
"SHUT IT YOU LOSERS!" he ordered them. "I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT WHAT YOU TELL ME!"
Soshi rolls his eyes. "You definitely do. Otherwise, you wouldn't be shouting."
"I CAN SHOUT ALL I WANT! YOU'RE ADDING THIS LOSER WITH TECK THAT'LL BREAK! HE'S NOTHING! AND YOU ARE TO LEAVE HIM NOW! HE'LL JUST DRAG YOU DOWN!"
"Seriously... c-calm down..." Scolo said nervously.
"I WON'T! WHY DO THE THREE OF YOU HANG OUT WITH THAT NO TALENTED, QURIKLESS LOSER!?"
"Because he's a kind person, with the will to help," Hansuke answered. "He's not a pompous ass, that only cares about winning and seeing everyone beneath him. That's not a true hero..."
[Indeed,] Ada said, [Top Dog Syndrome will hit you hard once you reach U.A.]
"The hell kind of fake sickness is that...?" Katsuki asked.
[Top Dog Syndrome. A psychological phenomenon occurring during a transition between middle school and high school, wherein the adolescent struggles in a new role as another average student instead of the most popular student like he used to be.]
Tick marks were starting to form on his head from every world she was saying. [I think you just made it worse,] Jeeves told Ada.
[I believe Jeeves is right,] Atlas agrees.
[... Apologies...]
"I AM NOT GOING TO BE LIKE THAT! ALL THOSE EXTRAS WILL BE UNDER ME AND I'LL BE ON TOP LIKE ALWAYS!!!" Katsuki shout at the female AI.
[...]
She goes on to start describing Megalomania, and how it applies to Bakugo.
"...Ada. Offline."
[Sir-]
"Acknowledge last directive."
[Complying.] Ada disappears.
"Can I put her in my new AI ports?" Izuku asked.
"AI ports?" Katsuki asked.
"Yes," Soshi said, not regarding Bakugo at all.
Izuku took the AI chip, moved his new long hair, showing the ports in his neck, and placed Ada's chip in one of the ports. Ada appeared next to Izuku. [Registering Izuku Midoriya under "Master" designation. All commands from Izuku will be accepted.]
"Whoa, this is awesome," Izuku stated in awe.
[Indeed. It is nice to meet you, Izuku Midoriya. And you as well, Atlas.]
[Same to you Ada,] Atlas greeted.
Izuku nodded. "Same."
Ada smiled before disappearing.
"What. The Fuck. Just happened...?" Katsuki asked.
"Izuku's new Quirk. Quit being in denial already," Soshi said.
"AND QUIT TRYING TO BULLSHIT ME!" he roars back.
"You're hopeless..." Soshi stated, rolls his eyes.
Katsuki huffs and stomps back to his desk. Soshi sighs and goes back to the drink. [At least he wasn't hostile at you that much and didn't attack you with his Quirk.] Atlas pointed out.
[Guess we should count that as a blessing,] Jeeves stated.
[Indeed,] Ada states.
Hansuke then hands the hilt he was building to Izuku. "What's this?" Izuku asked.
"A beam katana," he answered.
"Nice," Soshi said, "that could come in handy."
"Thanks," Hansuke thanked her. "It activates when he puts his energy into it. Though, I would advise not to swing it with in the classroom."
Izuku nods and tries to activate it... but realizes he doesn't know how to use his energy core. He then rubs the back of his head. "I still don't know how to use my energy yet," he said sheepishly.
Soshi facepalmed.
"Have you thought about asking Atlas...?" his three friends deadpan at him.
"Seriously, you're the Quirk Expert," Scolo told him. "You can't think like that with your Quirk?"
"Maybe it's centipede's dilemma?" Soshi suggests.
"I'm sorry, what?" Hansuke asked, confused.
"A psychological phenomenon where thinking about a skill executed perfectly makes it more difficult to recreate."
"I see, so instead of him thinking about it, we should help him?" Scolo asked.
"Probably," Soshi stated, "as long as he doesn't overthink it."
"You want Izuku, to not overthink..." Hansuke stated, blunt and flatly.
"... Previous statement retracted," Soshi stated, equally flat.
[And it's better if he does,] Atlas stated. [It takes a computer mind like Izuku's to see things at light speed at times. The information software he has need him to.]
"Interesting..." Soshi muttered.
"I just want to understand something," Hansuke started.
[He will only get a migraine, like when I said about his future sight,] Atlas told him.
"...You mean a processor overload, right? Because isn't his brain mechanical now?" Scolo inquired.
[Izuku is techno-organic actually,] Atlas corrected. [So, it can be either or both.]
"A wetware CPU... interesting...." Soshi muttered to himself.
"My quirk is weird..." Izuku stated, holding his head in his hand. Soshi and Scolo both nod. Hansuke was writing ideas down. "Uh, you okay Hansuke?"
"Just think of ideas," he answered.
Soshi was writing things down as well. One of those things appeared to be a different type of arm for Izuku, although there was one thing written under it: "Removable?"
Izuku saw this and was confused. "Removable? What do you mean Soshi?"
"...Just... upgrade to your arm... may need to remove components to make space..." Soshi said tiredly. He looks like he's about to fall back asleep.
[Oh, he can do that,] Atlas told them.
"Wait I can?" Izuku asked.
[Yes, but I must warn you, you need to-] Atlas started until Izuku disconnected his arm from his body. Almost immediately, pain shot through Izuku's shoulder. [-turn off your pain sensors before you do so...] Atlas finished flatly. Izuku did so, seeing it appear in his visual, and the pain went away, but everyone heard and saw what he did. Katsuki's jaw was to the floor.
"I-I guess I should have let you finish before I did that..." Izuku stated, blushing like mad.
"Izuku, you need to listen to someone fully before you do something like that," Hansuke scolded him. "What if you went into a seizure from the pain."
"O-Or worse, your brain short-circuited?" Scolo also scolded, albeit with less energy than Hansuke.
"Well... at least now... we know the arm is removable..." Soshi says while yawning.
Izuku put his hand up in surrender, "Okay, okay, I'll listen fully to the whole thing," he told them. "I was just excited to know I could be like a PlayArt action figure~ This is so useful, if I can gut upgrades that can be attachable through different means, I can be a force to be recon with~ Maybe if Hansuke and Soshi make a nano-station that can appear with storage space of a pocket dimension, I can have an armory at my disposal~" Izuku was writing this down.
Katsuki was walk back to them. "Okay, what the fuck just happened? How did Deku do that to his arm, his whole arm?"
"... Didn't we just tell you he has a Quirk now?" Soshi asks while yawning.
Katsuki tried to retort but couldn't come up with something. He pitched the bridges of his nose and ask them, "Okay, say I believe you, what kind of crazy ass Quirk would allow him to change like that, and be able to do what seems to be like multiple Quirks?"
"We haven't really come up with-" Hansuke stated, but Izuku interrupted him.
"Gundam, my Quirk's name is Gundam," Izuku answered, text seen in his eyes and reading it at mind boggling speeds that even Hansuke and Soshi would have trouble with. "It's a Quirk that allows me the powers of a Gundam, but I have to work for I, and it's an evolving Quirk as well. It even says I can copy other's Quirks if I understand them well, but it would take time for it to build that function. Right now, I have the body of a first gen Gundam, and can only make a weak shield. And I can eat metal and drink oil and gas with regular food." Izuku blinked, and getting stares from the others, making him stutter. "I-It's nothing that great."
"Nothing great my ass," Katsuki stated. "Your Quirk is broken if you can get it to be better." This shocked everyone in the classroom.
"Uh, did Katsuki just give Izuku a complement?" Hansuke asked, thinking he misheard.
"Yeah. Now I'm worried..." Soshi said, more awake.
Scolo was opening her mouth like a fish out of water.
"What?" he asked, looking at them. "Deku's always been slower at things then me, his Quirk being the same is jut the same." He then smiles his manic grin at them. "I hope you make it stronger, because I'll prove that even if you have a Quirk now, I'll be better then you."
Hansuke ran to the window and was looking to the sky. "Sky's not red and there's not a meteor shower, hell spawn are not coming from the Earth ether."
"OH SHUT IT SURE SHOOT LOSER!" Katsuki barked at him.
"... And he's back to normal," Soshi states.
"I don't know if that's better or worse," Scolo stated.
"Neither do I," Soshi said... right before he falls back asleep.
"Really..." his friends stated, sweat-dropping.
"...Soshi... wake up..." Scolo said while lightly slapping him. Soshi didn't wake up.
"He's like Shikamaru..." Hansuke stated sweat-dropping. Scolo nods in agreement.
"Should I put my arm back on now?" Izuku asked.
"...Yeah... probably..." Scolo said.
Izuku did so, and flexed his arm, feeling like it wasn't even taken off before. "Huh, attaches back on with no problem."
"That's good to know..." Scolo said.
"You okay?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine..." Scolo said.
"I see."
Scolo nods as she goes back to trying to wake up Soshi.
Katsuki made an explosion right next to Soshi and shouted, "WAKE UP YOU DAMN NERD!!!" That somehow didn't bother Soshi. "Okay, what the fuck!? How in the hell is he not awake from that?"
Scolo shrugs. "He can sleep through anything."
[What can wake him up though?] Jeeves asked.
"Not much... uh... electricity maybe?"
"I have no ideas," Hansuke stated.
[I am uncertain myself...] Ada states.
[Same,] Jeeves agreed.
[... The only thing I can think of is bribing him... talking up what he wants... and giving him medication while he's awake...]
"I think they do have medication for people with, narcolepsy was it?" Izuku asked. Scolo nods, as does Ada.
"We'll just have to get some for him then," Hansuke stated.
Ada nods again. [Indeed.]
"We do need to wake him before class starts," Izuku stated.
[I am not certain on how to do that. However, I can record the lecture for him,] Ada states.
"Good idea if we can't wake him up," Hansuke stated. Ada nods and gets ready to record the lecture.
[We will also record,] Jeeves and Atlas told them.
[Alright.]

(Later: After School)
The group of four was heading out after school. Izuku explained what happened to him during his classes and that his Quirk was a triggered activated one. He explained that he needed to show an act of heroism, which wasn't a complete lie, and it activated for him after. The four were in front of Inko.
"So, you're going to be with your friends for a while?" Inko asked Izuku.
"I am," he answered. "I want their help in figuring out my Quirk more."
"Reasonable enough for Hansuke and I, given that we're practically experts in the realm of robotics. However, that doesn't explain Scolo..." Soshi stated with his typical robotic monotone.
Hansuke chopped Soshi over the head and explained to him, "She's our friend and she can be support for Izuku, because he's going in with something new, like when he Quirk mutated."
Scolo nodded in agreement and added, "Yes, this is like Izuku's mutation, he'll need someone that'll know what it's like for things to change dramatically."
"I... see... apologies."
"Someone's got to be the emotional logical one of the group," Hansuke stated, shrugging but smirking kindly.
"I understand, Hansuke..." Soshi stated.
Inko smiled at them. "Thank you, all of you, for staying with my son."
Soshi nods. "No problem, Mrs. Midoriya."
"We see him for him, and not what he didn't have at the time," Scolo stated.
"We see him as the kid that would stand up for us when no one else would," Hansuke stated.
"And now he has the chance to fulfill his dreams after everyone said otherwise," Soshi stated.
Izuku was watery eyes but was smiling. "Thanks you guys."
"Is there anything I should know about his Quirk right now?" Inko asked. "Anything that was told last night?"
"...He can turn off his pain sensors and detach his limbs," Soshi stated.
"He also has a visor that looks like the face of a Gundam that has more visionary powers in it, one being an X-Ray that Atlas used on him to show us he has metal bones to," Hansuke added.
"Yeah... and Hansuke and Soshi gave him two new AIs," Scolo states, with Jeeves and Ada appearing.
[Greetings, Inko Midoriya. I am Ada.]
"Oh, so he can have other AIs as well?" Inko asked.
[That's correct ma'am,] Jeeves answered. [and greets as well, Mrs. Midoriya. I am Jeeves.]
"Yeah... although any upgrades he can get have to be built..." Soshi mutters to himself.
"Uh, I can evolve on my own as well," Izuku corrected him, "but it'll take time for me."
Soshi nods. "Yeah. What he said."
"And other's Quirks as powers after as well," Hansuke added. "Izuku with missiles like that of Katsuki."
"Yeah," Soshi states again.
"Anything else we need to remember Scolo?" Hansuke asked.
"Uh... nothing I can remember... except Bakugo complimented it," Scolo states.
"... That's still weird," the three boys stated. Scolo nods in agreement.
"I'm still upset about him," Inko told them. "I'm going to have a word with his mother."
"... Not sure if he'd appreciate that. I'm sure she already has stern words with him," Soshi stated.
"I don't think she know," Inko told him. Scolo shrugs. "Well, please call me if your staying over with your friends for the night or if it's getting late," she told them.
"Alright, Mrs. Midoriya," Soshi states, "Thank you."
"It is no trouble~" she told him, smiling. The four then leave for Soshi's house.
"... Hm... if the arm detaches..." Soshi muttered to himself.
"What are you thinking about?" Izuku asked him, hearing his muttering.
"I'm thinking about possible modifications that can be made to your arm now that we know it can be removed. Like a rocket punch," Soshi states.
"Rocket Punch?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah. Shoot your fist like a rocket and call it back," Soshi states.
Izuku had stars in his eyes. "Yeah, and if you can, you could help me with that in my feet to fly or hover a bit~!"
"Or... well, a jet pack," Scolo suggests.
"True, but leg boosters can help with stabilization," Hansuke stated.
"... Leg boosters in conjunction with a jet pack. Wings help maintain stability in the air, and can make steering easier," Soshi states.
Izuku pulled out his notebook again writing this down. "Yeah, how about a retractable gun holster? Like from that one movie I watched before, Robocop I think it was."
"I was thinking a blaster, one that can-do multi-function," Izuku explained. "And it can have a stun mode on it."
"...Hm... one arm would have the blaster, the other would be a rocket punch... one project at a time," Soshi said.
"Yeah, and if I have to, I can use it to grab my weapons if they're thrown away from me," Izuku added.
"Exactly. It's an attack with utility purposes," Soshi states.
"And he can have one for each hand," Hansuke added.
"Unless the arm cannon interferes with the rocket punch," Soshi counters.
"Isn't this why we're going over ideas?" Scolo asked.
"Yeah, exactly," Soshi said.
"Still like the ideas~" Izuku stated, smiling his million-watt smile. Soshi nods at that.
"We'll show the world that you can be the hero they need~" Hansuke stated, slapping his brother in all but blood on the back... and making him fall to the ground. "... Even though you need a lot of help..." he added that last part flatly.
Scolo just nods at that. "I feel stupid for thinking he was dangerous now..." she stated with a sweatdrop.
"I mean... he can be more dangerous. Just for the enemy," Soshi states.
______________________________________________________________________________
(Soshi's Home)
They arrive at Soshi's house, a nice 2-story house with a rather impressive volume, not including the basement. It was painted a nice yellow color.
Soshi has his lab is in the basement, as well as his bedroom. The guest rooms are next to the kitchen, and his mom's room is upstairs. He also has a shed in the backyard for gardening essentials.
"Is your mom okay that we came unannounced?" Izuku asked.
"Eh, she's always out late, anyways," Soshi says, nonchalantly.
"What does your mother do again?" Hansuke asked.
"She's a mortician. Has to be really thorough," Soshi states.
"Must be hard on her," Izuku said.
"Yeah. But it pays well."
"So where's the lab again?" Scolo asked.
"Basement. Let's go," Soshi says as he walks ahead. The four get down to his lab and see... A lot of inventions. Robotic arms, legs, hearts, guns... and several payments. Seems like he runs a business for prosthetics, even for people with Mutation Quirks. Seems like he even gets some government funding, although judging by the whiteboard with his name in different styles on it, he doesn't have a business name yet.
"Still haven't come up with a name for our business?" Hansuke asked.
"Nope," Soshi states, "I can't think of anything without sounding like Octavius Industries. And that certainly wouldn't help my case." He points at a robotic "arm" that looked like one of Doc Ock's.
"Why not our hero group name, Heroes of Hope Incorporations~?" Izuku asked.
"Maybe, but that's a bit long. Still shorter than that one company, Disestablishmentarianism, incorporated," Soshi stated.
"Who came up with that name?" Hansuke asked.
"A disestablishmentarian person," Soshi states, even more deadpan if it's physically possible.
"Riiiight...."
"Anyways, should we work on the arm now, or wait until after your first session with All Might?" Soshi asked.
"I'd like to be tested a bit," Izuku told him.
Soshi nods. "Alright, but I'm going to start drafting blueprints for when you're done," he says.
Izuku nodded. "Got it."
Soshi nods and gets to work.
"So what's the first test?" Hansuke asked, helping out.
"Actually, building the fist," Soshi states, "I have a propulsion method in mind. It would be like the Iron Man repulsors in my gauntlets, just on a smaller scale."
"That might work," Hansuke agreed.
Soshi nods. "Then I'd either need to make Izuku a new arm or modify the old one..."
"Would you like to look at my arm?" Izuku asked.
"No thank you, I'm just prototyping for now," Soshi said.
Izuku shrugs. "Just thought I'd ask." He then looked around and saw one of Soshi's works. It was a... Well, it looked like a Tron Light Suit. Some parts of the suit are still being built, and there are some Iron Man gauntlets next to it. "Hey, have you thought about putting neurological amplifiers into the suits so that you could gain better control by 20 to 35%?" he asked, then realized what he just said and blinked.
The three turned to Izuku. "Did he just think of something that we actually never thought of?" Hansuke asked Soshi, flabbergasted.
"... I... think so? Or did Atlas give you that idea?" Soshi asked Izuku.
"No, I didn't," Izuku answered, a bit spooked by this.
Atlas appeared, shaking their head as a no in answer to Soshi. [Negative. What you three just witness was Izuku's Supercomputer Brain. If you recall yesterday, I informed you about this happening.]
"Oh, right. Huh. Guess you can't control your intelligence yet. Better work on that before you say something wildly inappropriate in front of anyone," Soshi says.
Scolo just stayed quiet as she looked around using a form of echolocation.
"You okay Scolo?" Izuku asked.
"I'm fine... just curious," Scolo said.
"What were you wondering about?" Hansuke asked, hearing her.
"... I was wondering if Soshi could make some sort of pheromone dispenser... so I can mark paths for use later... or mark people so I can find them later."
"That's a great idea," Izuku stated, smiling. "With your heightened senses, you can easily use it to your advantage~"
Scolo nods. "E-Exactly."
"Add that to the list Soshi," Hansuke stated. Soshi nods and pulls up a file on his computer. It was a massive list of all of his and Hansuke's projects, color coded depending on whose idea the project was. Soshi writes down the idea in black text, which indicates that the idea came from someone other than Hansuke or Soshi.
"We still have a lot of ideas to finish," Izuku stated.
Soshi nods. "Yep. And we're always adding more."
"Which is something that's good," Hansuke added.
Soshi nods again. "Anyways... Hansuke, you want to work on the arm canon while I work on prototypes for the rocket fist?"
Hansuke nodded. "Sure." He does so.
Soshi starts working on the rocket fist as Scolo takes a "look" at some of the prosthetic arms.
"So... uh..." Izuku started to tray a conversation with Scolo.
"Hm? Yes, Izuku?" Scolo responded.
"Well... Sorry, trying to make conversation while they work," Izuku stated.
"That's... understandable," Scolo states. "... Hey, a-aren't you supposed to meet All Might sometime soon?"
"Y-Yeah, he'll text me soon," he answered.
"Alright. Makes sense," Scolo says.
"Still seems like a dream..." Izuku stated. Scolo nods understandingly. "I feel like I might wake up, and think it was all just a dream, having a Quirk, and being trained by ALL Might..."
"Yeah... it seems like none of this is real, right?"
"Yeah," he agreed, nodding his head, and looking at his new technorganic arm. "I have a Quirk that was dormant in me." Tears wear falling from his eyes from joy. "I hope that when I get One for All it'll just help more~"
Scolo nods again. "I'm sure it will. Although it may also make things more complicated..."
"What do you mean?"
"... Well... there's a lot of power in All Might's punches. Is your body capable of handling the same amount of power?"
"I'm not really sure," Izuku answered truthfully. "Maybe this training is to help me with it."
"I mean, yeah..."
Both were now in an awkward silence now. Scolo was just staring blankly into space visually. She was actually trying to find a way to escape this little predicament. Izuku was trying to do the same as well. They both just stood there for a while.
"So..."
"So... uh..."
"We're finished" Hansuke told them.
"Well, that was fast," Scolo said.
"Our Quirks help out a lot," Soshi stated, bluntly.
Izuku nods. "Y-yeah, that sounds right..."
"You might be able to do it as well, Izuku," Hansuke told him.
"Y-yeah, maybe," Scolo agreed.
"You okay" Hansuke asked her.
"I'm fine."
"Okay. Want to test out the new gear?"
"Alright. L-let's do it," Izuku says, nervous. He then asked. "Uh... Where's the testing area again?"
"Elevator," Soshi states as he points to the elevator.
Izuku nodded and headed to the elevator. There were 2 floors: the lab, and the testing area. He presses the test area button. The elevator starts going down to the testing area Soshi had set up. Some of the courses were designed for different gadgets Soshi was planning on using when he became a Pro, although there was also a generic obstacle course and AR combat arena.
"Okay Izuku," Hansuke called from the speakers. "Your new upgrades and gear should be in the slot next to you and the elevator." As he says that, a slot opens up, unveiling a new set of arms for Izuku. Both of them looked similar.
"Also, Izuku, the rocket fist is only a prototype. As such, that arm doesn't have a cannon, and you may experience some bugs," Soshi says over the speakers.
Izuku took his new protype arm and lifted it, he then saw that the blaster Hansuke made then came after. It looked like the one from the original Gundam but had a knob near the barrel. "Here's the blaster you asked for as well," Hansuke told him. "It's like the original, only having a few shots, but it can reload with your power, and the knob on the side changes it to different settings."
"I may occasionally ask to see the blaster, if I ever have any new ideas for it. Not everything has to come from Gundam, after all," Soshi says.
"True," Izuku agreed.
"I am thinking of giving him powers from Gurren Lagann," Hansuke added. "I feel it would help him and his Quirk faster."
"Might upgrade the arm cannon with some Metroid upgrades. A blaster with that much rapid fire and self-sustaining is bound to be handy. Not to mention the ability to pierce targets," Soshi says.
"Did you even hear my idea...?" Hansuke asked him in a deadpan.
"Yes, but I might also add other upgrades," Soshi states.
"Just making sure because you ten to not pay attention at times..."
"I understand. Anyways, just be careful with the prototype rocket fist."
"Uh, how do I use it?" Izuku asked.
"You forgot to tell him the instructions again..." Hansuke and Scolo lampshaded to Soshi.
"... For the rocket punch, there's a button on the upper arm, near the shoulder. Aim at the target and press the button. Just be careful about recoil," Soshi states.
Izuku was doing just that, taking his own arm off, and remembering to turn off his pain sensors this time, and put his new protype arm on, which felt like his regular are, when he heard the last part. "Recoil? What recoil-?" He never finished when the fist was fired. And he landed on his butt about an inch back from where he was standing, because the recoil launched him back. About half of Izuku's forearm flew forwards like a rocket and hit a target, although it was a bit off from where Izuku was aiming.
"Uh, Soshi," Hansuke stated his questioning, "how much recoil did you put into the fist?"
"Not much," Soshi states, "I attempted to reduce it down to the amount of recoil one would feel firing a pistol, while still keeping the same amount of force in the punch."
"That was more then a pistol mate..." Hansuke stated.
"...I said I attempted. The furthest I could get it down was to a grenade launcher without causing the fist to just fall straight down."
"Uh, guy," Izuku called out making the two inventers look at him, "how do I put the arm back on...?" They saw that it wasn't connecting again.
"Oh, it should connect automatically, if you're close enough," Soshi states.
"But it isn't," Izuku stated.
"Oh. Well, you should be able to reattach it the same way you normally reattach your arm."
Izuku tries again. This time, the hand connects properly. After a few seconds, it reactivates and starts behaving like a normal hand. "I'm going to have to get use to this," Izuku muttered.
"Yep. Now try the blaster, if Hansuke would kindly explain how to use it," Soshi says.
"What's there to explain?" he asked. "It's a blaster with settings."
"... How to fire it?"
The three gave him a deadpan. "Really...? It's a gun..." They all said at the same time.
"... I know it's based on the basic Gundam gun, but is it automatic? Semiautomatic? Manual? How much recoil? How powerful is it?"
"Yes. Yes. Yes. None whatsoever. Depends on the knob with the firing as well." He answered all of them.
"... A gun can't be automatic, semiautomatic, and manual. It has to be one of the three."
The three facepalm. "You're an idiotic genius you know that...?" the three muttered out to him.
"What? Automatic fire is the gun firing without repeated presses of the trigger, like a machine gun. They can also fire a burst of shots. While recoil would normally be a problem, because there's no recoil, the only problem would be the gun potentially overheating. Semiautomatic guns fire one bullet per pull of the trigger. Repeating semiautomatic guns automatically reload between pulls of the trigger. And manual guns have to be reloaded manually between each fire, like old-fashioned rifles or pump-action shotguns. If the gun has a setting for each of the three, that makes sense, but it would take time to for the gun to adjust itself to the new rate of fire."
"I was able to make it do all three with the knob..." Hansuke stated flatly.
"Alright. Izuku, just... choose a firing style you feel comfortable with."
"Right," Izuku nodded, getting to work on the blaster. Izuku takes a look at the blaster, and starts with automatic fire at with medium power. He then fires at a dummy. While each individual shot was weak, the rate of fire was fast enough to bore a hole into said dummy after a second of firing.
"How is it so far bro?" Hansuke asked.
"I... I-I drilled a hole through one of the targets..."
"Guess you forgot to put the safety on, but it can be useful for foes that are robotic," Hansuke stated.
"M-maybe," Izuku states. He looked and saw it wasn't on stun. Izuku sighs and sets it to stun.
Hansuke just sighs, shaking his head, looking at Scolo, "And you though he wasn't the same."
"... Huh?" Scolo said.
"Scared of Izuku," he pointed out. "The only thing scary about him is not being able to get thing straight..." Scolo nods in understanding. Izuku turn the knob the wrong way and made it go to manual, making it hit the dummy, and leaving a giant hole in it. This made the three friends sweatdrop at Izuku's fumbling. "Which I more likely then I wish for..."
"... As long as he isn't pointing it at us..."
Scolo is being told everything that's happening by Soshi.
"I'm more afraid of the villain's safety then Izuku's now..." Hansuke muttered.
"Same here," Soshi states.
To be continued...

And that's the chapter.
Tkdboy: Yep. Hoo boy, what a doozy.
Izuku: "This is a pretty long chapter."
Eh, I've done longer. His isn't even my longest.
Tkdboy: Wait, seriously? Dang.
I think it was around 40 pages if I remember...
Izuku: "40!?"
Tkdboy: Buhjeezus. You have a lot of time on your hands.
Well with how everything is now, I do, and it's bugging me. I can't focus o my writing staying in one spot for so long...
Tkdboy: Understandable. I sometimes find that getting up and getting some fresh air helps me out.
Yeah but the same old scenery get's old after a while as well.
Tkdboy: Which is why I take walks around town sometimes. Yes, I wear a mask.
I live in the countryside...
Tkdboy: ... Oh. Sorry.
It happens.
Izuku: "Shouldn't we finish this up now?"
Tkdboy: Oh, right! Sorry!
Right, I'll leave a link to your DA page again.
Tkdboy: Right. Thanks.
No trouble, you're helping me with this and are making the cover art for Fanfiction and Wattpad when you got the time.
Tkdboy: No trouble. I'll send it to you when it's done.
Thanks. And with that, we'll see you all next time.
