Pains remembered.

***Shade's POV***

Actually, being out for a while feels nice. It's been a while. Been a while since I was awake.

As thrilled as I am to be in control for a change, I can't let me guard down. At least not yet. I have two powerful demons in front of me. But that doesn't mean I can't have any fun.

"So, Shade, I have a few questions for you. If you don't mind." Charlie asks snapping me out of my thoughts.

"I don't mind at all. Although I could probably guess what you want to ask. First thing is you want to know what I am. Am I correct?" I ask as politely as I can.

She simply nods. I can tell she is a bit shocked I guessed what she wanted.

"Honestly, I have no idea what I am. The only thing I know for sure is I am here to keep Hope safe."

They both don't seem to know what to think of that lack of information. Alastor looks at me there is something about that smile I don't know if I should trust it or not. Maybe it's my brain thinking that because he does have razor sharp teeth.

"Where does Hope go when you take control?" He asks me.

I was not really expecting that question. But without missing my chance to mess with him I reply.

"Why? Miss her already? Or perhaps you like her and want to do naughty things to her." I say with a seductive smile.

He responds by getting flustered. Like he definitely wasn't expecting that response. I could help but burst out laughing at his shocked and flustered face. That look was priceless.

"I'm joking. I'm sorry I haven't been out for a while and just had to mess with you. Honestly, I think she goes to sleep. I'm not exactly sure though." I say answering his question.

After telling him I am joking he seems a bit annoyed. Oh well. Charlie regains my attention with the next question.

"So, Shade can you tell me what happened earlier?" She asks.

"You mean with the demon I cut up?" I ask just to be clear.

"Yes. I just want to get your side of things." Charlie says to me.

I almost want to roll my eyes at that statement, but I can understand why she is asking. She most likely talked to the other demon. No doubt he told her a very different story. One that paint Hope as the crazy violent one. So, with that in mind she would want my side of the story.

I tell her honestly what happened from my point of view. How he yelled and shouted at her the smack across the face. And everything that happened afterwards.

She listens to the whole story. I don't know for sure if she believes me but can hope she does. I would really piss me off for Hope to punished for a lie some other demon told.

After I was done Charlie told me she has to speak with Alastor some more and that since I am out, I can explore around for a bit. That sounds nice. I just might do that.

I stand and thank her before walking out of the office. As I'm walking away from the office, I decide to stop by the kitchen first. I am a bit hungry.

As I begin to walk through the lobby, I see someone I never wanted to see again. He messy black hair and glowing red snake eyes. He is very skinny, but you shouldn't let that fool you. He is stronger than he looks. His name is Karl, and he is a giant prick.

"You! What the fuck are you doing here?!?" I ask seething and wishing he wasn't here.

That is the moment he turns and notices me. The smile on his face widens into a sadistic grin. It makes me want to punch it off his face. This man caused me a lot of pain. He would torture me for hours when he could.

Although closer to the end of his life he forced me to do some rather gross things. No, he never raped me. But what he did wasn't much better. I still feel gross thinking about it.

"Well now if it isn't Hope. The no-good dirty slut." He said knowing that I would react to the old nickname he gave me.

"Don't call me that. Anything you did to me I didn't want." I say anger in my voice.

He chuckled at my anger.

"You sure about that? I remember somethings differently. Like yo-" He starts to say before I cut him off.

I had used Hope's powers to make a piece of sharpen crystal. I then threw it at his fucking face. I had hit him near his eye.

I wasn't trying to kill him, but I did want him to shut up. He cried out in pain as he pulled the crystal out of his face. He glares at me before changing. I guess he had a more human look that he usually wears, because he changed into a half human half snake demon.

He shouts out a how dare you before coming at me. Before I could react, his slimy snake tail was coiled around most of my body. He's fast.

With my arms wrapped up I can't do much. I cry out as I feel him run a claw down my face. I feel the blood start flowing out.

"I think you need to be taught your lessons all over again bitch." He hisses in my ear before biting down hard at the base of my neck.

Where he bites me begins burning and stinging. Burning? That's it. I focus my energy into my hand hoping to crate a flame to burn his tail. Then he would have to let go. As I am doing this he begins squeezing. I feel like something was about to break when he cries out in pain. He releases me and slithers a bit of a distance from me. Nursing his poor tail.

"Next time keep your slimy coils off of me." I say with purple and black flames in my hand.

"You're going to pay for that." He says anger in his tone.

Before I could respond to that my body began to feel very weak. Numbness had spread from my neck to my feet. Fuck. I can't move. He must have venom that paralyzed me. This is very bad.

He smiles that same slimy smile as I fall.
