29| Another Unexpected Turn
Ryobo's POV ❄️
"There's no freaking way! I don't even feel like I have any monster powers or anything like that..." I went as I looked at my hands.
"I'm not talking about power-wise, silly!" Toriel giggled. "I'm talking about your soul and your heart. But, you and Itachi have only been here for a little while since the day we met. It'll take you another 3 months before you see the effects and changes."
"Oh. Okay...But, will Itachi and I still look like the way he and I currently look now?" I asked.
"I'm a hundred percent sure of that. Your body won't really change much, since you and your brother are hybrids. The only possibility you'd get out of your awakening, is probably horns on you. Like mine." Toriel chuckled.
"If I get horns on my head, like the way yours are, then I won't mind at all. I'd hate to think of myself or my brother getting an extra eyeball, arm, or something even more weird like that." I replied before shuddering a little, feeling a bit grossed out.
"Like that'd happen to anyone, who has monster blood like you and your brother, in a million of years." I heard Toriel say before she started laughing about it.
"Hey! I was being serious and honest about that!" I said as I gave Toriel my angry pout.
"I know..." She went before getting up and pulling me close to her, cuddling me.
I cuddled her back in response, knowing I can't stay mad at Toriel forever, because of how she's down to earth and a major sweetheart that she is.
It's also mostly obvious that she'd always win an argument if I ever had one with her, which I'm absolutely sure that'd never happen unless she was acting a bit like her horrortale self again.
"You're such a spoiled woman, when it comes to giving a child affection, aren't you?" I sighed as I looked at Toriel before giving her a small smile.
"Yes, I am. Unless you got a problem with that." She chuckled.
"Nah. You're perfectly fine." I replied before booping Toriel on the nose, making her feel a little surprised, resulting in her smiling, when I did that.
After Toriel letted go of me and sat down on the bed, I sat next to her and just rested my head on her lap.
"How's your arm by the way?" I asked, talking about her injury. "Does it need any pain-reliving medication? Or your bandages needed to be changed?"
"It's a little sore, but, it's not severe." Toriel replied.
"Scale of 1 to 10, pain level wise. 10 for severely in pain, 1 for not in pain." I went.
"2 or 3..." She answered. "My bandages need to be changed, but...aside from the injury, I'm okay."
"Alright. Just checking." I said as I stuck my tongue out at her, in a playful manner.
Then I got up and took out the mini first aid kit before me and Toriel went in the bathroom, so I can change the bandages.
We're also in there, in case a bloody mess happens, since the wound is still in the process of healing.
"If it wasn't a physical injury, I could heal myself with my healing powers." Toriel mentioned out of nowhere.
"Nah. I wouldn't recommend trying that..." I replied as I looked at her. "It could mess up the injury's healing process, leave a scar, won't be able to heal itself at all, or something even more worse than that."
"Alright, I won't use it." She sighed.
I nodded, giving her the message that she chose the right decision, as I began to change the bandages, seeing that the wound is starting to heal, since it stopped bleeding.
After I was done changing the bandages for Toriel, I threw away the old ones and we headed back in the bedroom, deciding that we're gonna go on ahead and turn in for the night to get some sleep.
When we laid down on the bed together, I wrapped my arms around Toriel's waist, making her feel a little surprised by that, before falling asleep as I curled up into a ball and dozed off too...
Toriel's POV 🥧
It wasn't until the middle of the night when I suddenly snapped my eyes open after I heard a loud bang following after a crashing sound next.
Quickly getting up, I noticed that Ryobo was gone, making me worried sick and terrified, as I had a strong feeling that something wasn't right.
Ryobo never leaves the room at all.
The only time he's ever gotten up and out of bed, was to use the bathroom. But, he would come back to bed and continue sleeping after he did his business.
"Ryobo?!" I went as I quickly got up before changing out of my pajamas in the bathroom, and hurrying out the door, seeing it was wide open.
"Ryobo!!!" I called out to him, since the snow already covered his footprints, after closing the door.
A loud scream was heard next, making me turn my head towards the direction where I heard it.
I immediately started running in that direction, as I ran into Itachi, the girls, including the brothers, Sans and Papyrus.
"Tori! Are you okay?!" Itachi asked as he had a worried look in his eyes, confirming that something was really wrong.
"I'm completely fine. What about you guys? And what's going on?!" I answered before asking.
"Ryobo suddenly went missing in the cabin he and I were staying at until right now."
"We just saw him a few seconds ago!" Itachi replied. "But, he looked very different when we got a good look at him for a few seconds."
"What do you mean?! What the hell happened to your older brother?!?!" I asked, wanting to know, as I had my hands resting on Itachi's shoulders.
"I don't know, but, he looked like a monster! Like you guys! His behavior is what was even more stranger! The way he acted was almost like a demon!" Itachi answered, making me freeze as my heart stopped.
"That's too soon for any monster changes to be happening to you or him!" I said in disbelief.
"My brother went berserk!" I heard Itachi say next, which made me freeze again.
Without any hesitation, I quickly got up and hurried in the direction where the screaming was coming from, as my heart was pounding hard in my chest.
