18. Eight Days A Week
Here we go all over again. I really didn't want to go to the after party after the disaster of the last one. I asked Ringo if he could drop me off at home but he assisted that I come and that he would stick by me the whole evening. What a bunch of lies that was. As soon as we walked in he dumped me and went over to Maureen. So here I am now. Sitting in the corner all alone. It's been a hour since Ringo started talking to her and he hasn't left her side.
I felt a presence next to me and I looked up. "Are you alright sis?" Davy asked. I shrugged and looked over to Ringo and Maureen laughing and having a good time whereas I'm sitting alone, miserable. He looked over at them and back to me. "Well I can knock him out if you want" Davy smiled. I giggled. Davy was always looking out for me. I shook my head. "I don't think it would go well for you" I giggled. "But I certainly would like to see it" Pete said as he sat beside me. "Sod off" Davy laughed as he shoved Pete. Davy noticed a pretty girl and got up and left me with Pete. I rolled my eyes as he left. "Some things don't change do they?" Pete laughed. I smiled. "So how are you and the others getting along?" I asked as I lifted my legs to cross them. "Yeah alright I guess. Maybe still a little tense, especially with Ringo" he shrugs. I still don't understand why Ringo is acting like such a dick. He always said forgive and forget but he certainly isn't doing that with Pete. I looked up and Ringo and Maureen were now dancing. What is going on. "Would you care to dance?" Pete asked, gentlemanly. "I would love to" I smiled.
We dance for a good hour. I was surprised that John hasn't even try to make a move yet. Maybe he'll leave me alone but I spoke too soon as I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see John with a cheeky grin on his face. "Can I borrow Lucy for a moment?" John asked Pete. He nodded and let go of me. John put his hands on my hips and I put my hands on his shoulders as we started swaying to the music. "I thought you would be dancing with Ringo" he said. I looked down. "Ringo has been with Maureen for the last two hours" I mumbled. He put his finger under my chin and lifted my head up. "He's stupid to leave a pretty girl like you all by herself" he whispered. Forgot Ringo. He hasn't even talked to you for the past two hours. John obviously cares more about you. Kiss him and say that you love him. I just shrugged those thoughts away and continued dancing with John. He looked past me and a big smile appeared on his face. "Come on. There's some people I would like you to meet" he smiled as he took my hand and led me to some people. He said hello to them and shook their hands. "Guys I would like you to meet Lucy Jones. Lucy this is Klaus Voormann" I smiled and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you Klaus." "Nice to meet you too, Lucy" he said. I honestly couldn't keep my eyes off Klaus. He's so cute. "And this is Astrid Kirchherr" he smiled. I looked at Astrid and smiled. Stuart had mentioned her in the letter. "It's so nice to finally meet you. Stuart told us all about you" she said in her thick German accent. The both had heavy German accents. "Nice to meet you too. He mentioned you in the letter" I said my voice wobbling a little as tears threaten to fall. She gave me a hug and said "I know you miss him so much. We all do" I looked at Astrid with a sad smile.
Another hour had passed and no sign of Ringo but I didn't care. I was having so much fun with Astrid, Klaus and John that I didn't really think that he could be off somewhere with Maureen. I'll deal with that tomorrow. Astrid invited me over to her house in Hamburg, Germany to see where Stuart did his paintings. I'm nervous about it though. I'm nervous that I would break down in tears. I hate crying in front of people. Klaus also started to teach me how to play the bass. It was so much fun. "I think I should go now" I yawned. "I guess Ringo will take you home" John mumbled. I rolled my eyes. "I haven't talked to him since we arrived. God knows where he is now" I said. "How about the four of us come back to my room at the hotel. Klaus can continue teaching the bass there" John smiled. We all agreed and then we set off.
It was now 1:00am and Klaus and I were still playing the bass. I'm surprised there hasn't been any complaints. "Thanks you the bass lesson" I smiled. "Your welcome" Klaus smiled. I blushed and quickly looked down. Then suddenly there was a bang. "What was that?" I asked as the four of us rushed to the door. We opened the door and there he was. A extremely drunk Ringo stumbling all over the place. He didn't noticed us and he opened the door to the room I was sharing with him. I looked to the others worried. "You can stay with me for the night" Klaus offered. I smiled and said yes.
Saturday 11 July 1964
The next morning I woke up to a knock on the door. "Come in" I mumbled. The door opened and Klaus walked in. "Breakfast in bed for sleeping beauty" he smiled. "Aww thank you" I said as I gave him a kiss on the cheek. His cheeks turned red and I giggled. Wait a minute. Am I now falling for Klaus? It can't be. I can't be in love with three men at once. I just remembered why I never dated during high school. It's all to confusing. Me and Klaus just sat there staring at each other for a minute. Until there was yelling and shouting coming from a couple of rooms down. "What the hell is going on out there?" I said as I put a dressing gown on. We both rushed to the door and opened it and at that moment there was another bang. Pete and Ringo came out yelling at each other. Pete yelling? That's not like him at all. By now the others had came out. "Well last time I saw Lucy you were with her laughing and having a grand old time. I wouldn't be surprised if you did shag her" Ringo yelled. I froze stiff. Ringo thinks that Pete shagged me? "Then she just disappeared with out a word" he yelled. I couldn't take this anymore. I had to make my presence known and I only know one way to do that. Scream. "Your the bloody one who left me soon as we arrived!" I screamed at Ringo. Everyone looked at me. "You dumped me by myself and ran straight for Maureen. Do you think that I'm so stupid that I didn't notice you dancing with her all night?! And then you accused my friend of shagging me when all he was doing was trying to make my happy when you made me missable!" I screamed. I stared directly into his eyes with anger. Ringo backed up a little and looked down at his feet. I may be small but I do have a powerful voice. Guilt came over me as I saw a tear run down his cheek. I took a step back and turned around to leave. I can't handle this. "I'm sorry" Ringo whispered. I turned around to face him as he looked up to meet my eyes. "I guess I never really got along with Pete and... umm... after what happened with you and John I... I assumed..." Ringo shook his head. "I should've known better then to assume you and Pete... umm you know... I'm sorry. I know you wouldn't do that to me again. And I'm sorry for leaving you at the party. I really love you Lucy. Will you please forgive me?" He asked. I looked at him, my anger was now gone. I nodded. "I'm sorry for yelling at you. I was overreacting" or was I? "I guess since I don't know her I just didn't trust her" I said quietly. "That's why I think you should hang out with her today. You know to get to know her" Ringo smiled. There was a little hint of happiness in his voice. "Okay" I smiled. "What on earth just happened? One minute your angry and fighting the next your happy and smiling" George said. We all laughed. I guess my mood changes all the time. One minute I'm happy next I'm sad then back to happy again. I'm definitely a handful.
