Jace's pov Friday after school

I went downstairs after getting ready and saw the whole pack there. I search for Jack and find her out back talking to her phone. I walk up behind her and tap her shoulder. She jumps slightly but smiles once she realised it's me.

"Hey Jack. What'cha doing?"

"Talking to Lacey and Ryley. Say hi." She turns the phone toward me and I instantly smile.

"Hey guys! How was visiting your grandparents?" I ask sitting next to Jack.

"It was boring to be honest. Ryley and I just sat in our room bored the whole day."

"Sucks for you. You missed the frog dissection in biology."

"I'm sure I'll get over it. Hows the party? Find your mate yet?"

I sigh sadly and shake my head. "Unfortunately not yet. But there we're a few sick people so maybe on Monday I'll find her."

"Or him." Jack says. I give her a pointed look. "What? Lacey is right it could be a dude. It's not totally unheard of." I roll my eyes and stand up.

"Well I'm going back to the party. See you on Monday girls." They both say their goodbyes and I walk back into the party.
*2 hours later*

No mate. I didn't find my mate in the span of 2 and a half hours. Guess that means that my mate was sick and will be in school on Monday.
