Chapter 25

A/N: I'm back!!

XD XD XD

Chapter 25:

Musa stared at Riven for a few minutes.

One hand in his pocket, the boy held onto a large sword with a lazy hold as he stared at the Winx.

"You guys going or what?"

Stella glared at him, "Not all of us can rush into battle without a plan. You'll have to wait."

Riven's face darkened with anger but he didn't respond.

Musa turned to Tecna.

The tech fairy struggled to her feet to hold out a palm-sized device, "This'll have to stay here and alert the teachers."

Musa nodded, "We're heading to the library then?"

Tecna nodded, letting Flora support her, "Yes. We need to stop Icy and keep her busy till back-up arrives."

"Back-up, present." Riven muttered.

Stella ignored him, making Musa smile, "Alright then, Tecna. Good plan."

"A-Are you okay, Tecna?"

Tecna smiled over at a concerned Timmy.

"I'll be fine. Thank you for asking, Timmy."

The boy with the glasses only nodded, looking worried.

"Alright," Sky's voice got everyone's attention, "To the library then. Bloom, why don't you and the girls lead the way?"

Bloom nodded, "Right."

Musa glanced at Riven once more to catch him staring at her.

He gave her a steady glance before looking away.

Musa swallowed.

If the butterflies in her stomach wouldn't still, she would mess up in some way for sure.

"Musa..."

Flora's soft whisper jerked her up.

"Y-Yeah?"

"Let's go," Flora gave her a tentative smile.

Musa nodded before grinning at her friend, the few bruises on her body seeming to heal with the nature fairy's magic, "Yeah!"

The two friends ran after Stella and the others.

"Quick, Ms. Griselda," The head mistress stressed, hurrying as she tied a part of her dressing gown into place, "This alert sounds rather serious! How have we been so sound asleep?"

Ms. Griselda hurried after the lady, "Ms. Faragonda, be careful where you step. There are shards of glass and other things everywhere."

The old woman waved the concerns of the strict teacher away, "We have a problem of greater magnitude upon us. All of these things form a trail leading right upto the library."

The air got colder as the teachers finally reached the wrecked room where the Codex lay hidden.

"Duck, Riven."

Riven dodged the ice spike that had been aimed at his head.

Musa flew over with a sonic beam.

Icy's cackle grated on the specialist's nerves.

The nature fairy flew up to him, "Are you okay?"

"Fine."

Flora landed beside him.

Riven glanced at her once before looking back at the witch.

Nine against one and she still had the upper hand.

Flora suddenly straightened.

Riven looked over at the pretty fairy, "What?"

Glancing over at him, Flora smiled, "The teachers will be here in a few seconds."

Riven didn't sound happy, "About time."

Musa was thrown back into a shelf of books, right beside the library's unconscious pixie guardian.

"Musa!!"

Flora resisted the urge to fly over to her wounded friend.

Instead, she turned to Icy who was busy battling Bloom and Stella at once.

Sky and Timmy had already received severe injuries from the witch's bracelet.

They had difficulty breathing as they sat propped up against a desk.

Tecna's digital cage was blown to shreds before Icy's blizzard froze her in place.

Layla came to Riven's side.

There was a tightening of her jaw, "Wanna take this girl down?"

Riven didn't respond as he raised his sword.

Flora turned to watch Icy disable Bloom and Stella before throwing them to the floor.

Something had shifted in the room.

"The bracelet..." Flora trailed, unsure of what exactly the change was.

"The bracelet is dimming!" Layla grinned just as Icy spotted them.

The witch scowled, raising her hand to attack.

"Let's go."

Riven ran up the length of the room before using the desks to give him a lift as he jumped into the air.

Layla snapped into a transformation.

Flora felt her wings sprout as a glow spread through her body.

There wasn't time for just healing spells and support magic anymore.

Layla and Flora flew at the witch.

A tidal beam hit Icy head-on, Flora's magic creating an arc of sleep and disorientation around the wicked girl.

Riven's sword slashed against the bracelet and that was all the students could see before they were thrown back.

Flora shifted in her sleep.

A heavy restlessness settled in her, causing her hands to twitch once before grabbing hold of the sheets of the bed she lay on.

A stinging pain in her arm called for her to regain consciousness.

With only darkness and uncertainty of space clouding her mind, the nature fairy shifted in bed once more, her forehead creasing with worry as her eyes shut tightly to keep the fear away.

"I see..."

"Yes..."

"Seems... Possible... No, I-...."

The voices slowly cleared into her mind, waking her from the deep sleep she's drifted into.

Opening one eye, the brunette looked around the bright room she lay in as things slowly shifted into focus.

Across from her lay a heavily bandaged Musa.

A blond girl lay beside the music fairy and Flora didn't have to turn around to know that another fairy shared her bed.

"Yes, Ms. Faragonda, they should be fine..."

Flora looked up slightly as the Head Mistress strolled into the room.

Spotting the girl awake, the old lady smiled, "Why, Flora, you're awake!"

"Ms. Faragonda," Flora acknowledged, trying to get her arms to respond and help her sit up.

"Don't move, young lady," There was a kind tone in the Head Mistress' stern voice.

Flora settled back into bed with a grateful smile even as a pain shot through her shoulder.

How had she gotten so damaged and injured?

"Flora," The Head Mistress began, her tone low and serious, "Last night, Icy broke out of the infirmary. When Ms. Griselda and I finally reached the library, we heard a huge explosion. We appeared just in time to see you, Riven and Layla hit the floor rather forcefully."

The Head Mistress shuddered as Flora listened with wide eyes, unsure of how to assure the woman that she felt fine, "It was a terrible thing to see. Icy... didn't get the Codex though, my dear."

Flora gasped, "She didn't, Ms. Faragonda?"

"No," The Head Mistress shook her head, still not as pleased as she should have been, "But you girls injured this way has not let me rejoice in any way."

Flora wasn't sure how to respond to the Head Mistress as her heart melted.

"The Ice witch crumbled right after the explosion. She disappeared right after. W-We are unsure of what happened."

Flora stared at the Head Mistress before a warm feeling spread across her stomach.

The Codex was safe.

Her friends were still beside her.

Their bravery had not gone in vain.

"Ms. Faragonda," There was a particularly proud glow around the gentle fairy as she spoke, "All the girls and Timmy and Sky exhausted the bracelet's powers... After that happened, Layla and I could distract Icy before Riven stuck at her bracelet."

The Head Mistress nodded, "You girls have been asleep for an entire day and are still not up. The specialists were sent to their school to rest and have already woken up to report."

Flora blinked, "Oh, I see."

The Head Mistress nodded, "A certain man named Helia was rather anxious about your condition if I recall."

Flora blushed, "Oh."

"Of course, he was. Brandie poo must've been upset too!"

Flora giggled as the Head Mistress sighed, "That aside, Ms. Stella, now that you're awake, maybe you'd care to explain why you were each found in glittery party wear?"

There was a short silence before every girl in the room shifted into a deeper sleep.
