Secret
Yoongi snaps awake and pants, holding a hand over his chest. Y/n wakes up as well, glancing at him strangely. "Babe? What is it?" He'd be lying if he said his heart didn't flutter at the use of the nickname. It calms his rapid heart for the few moments he needs to regain his composure.
"I had a nightmare."
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asks.
"There's nothing you can do. It was a memory of mine, one I see all the time."
He sits up, Y/n sitting up with him. Jin and Jimin are on that night patrol now. Jimin. The thought of the younger man makes Yoongi's heart break in half. Y/n's eyes ask the question her mouth doesn't.
"We have to leave soon," he mumbles. "And the closer it gets, the more I feel trapped. Like this won't work out well for us." She kisses his shoulder and back hugs him, giving him a gentle massage he gratefully accepts.
"Want to tell me what's going on?" she whispers, continuing her onslaught of kisses on his upper back.
He gains the will to smile at that. "I keep having nightmares. I know we have bigger worries, but I can't shake stupid dreams. What's wrong with me?" he asks.
Her warm fingers brush past his jaw. Seconds later, she tilts his chin towards her. Her soft lips touch his, comfort filling his body. His arms wrap around her waist, him pulling her onto his lap, but not in a sexual way. More in a way where he can't stand the small distance they share. Any distance is excruciating.
When they part, she places her forehead on his. "There's absolutely nothing wrong with you. If this is important to you, then it's important to me too. Leaving, not leaving, mafia on our door or not, if something as simple as nightmares is what you fear most, then I'll listen. Whatever you feel, I feel too. There's two of us now," she says. "You're not alone. Hell, you're not even sleeping alone. So if you want to scream and cry for three hours, I'll hold you while you do so."
He meets her eyes and shows his vulnerability. "Why?" The one whispered word holds more depth than arguably any word or sentence he's ever uttered to another soul.
"Because it's not you. It's we."
He kisses her again. The temptation was too much to resist. The kiss never gets heated. It's all emotions. So emotional that he feels tears prick at the corners of his eyes, his arms squeezing her tighter. She pulls back first to place a hand on his cheek.
"I won't leave you. I never will, okay? I don't promise much in my life, but I can promise that," she says.
"Thank you. Thank you so much."
"Don't thank me for caring. It's what you deserve."
They go quiet for a few moments, their foreheads pressed together, showing their unity. A smile stays on his lips when he thinks of what to say next. "I've made a lot of mistakes in my past," he mutters.
"Okay, do you want to talk about it? Or do you want my advice on it?"
"Both," he replies.
She kisses his forehead. "You can't control your past anymore. The best you can do is try to change your future."
He shakes his head. "I wish it were that simple, but when I tell you what I did, it won't be that anymore. Truthfully, I wouldn't blame you if you broke up with me."
Her eyes widen. "Why would I do that?"
"Because I'm a monster," he mumbles, tears strolling down his face.
She instantly wipes them away. "Hey... hey, Yoons. Shh it's okay. Tell me, baby. Tell me everything."
He does.

Jin paces around the room, eyeing Namjoon every once in a while. "What do we do?" Jin asks. He doesn't have any desperation laced into his tone. It's curiosity instead.
"Well, there's not much we can do," Namjoon says. "All we can do is hope Taehyung can lead us to some safety. Anything that can help."
"What if Jungkook comes after us?" Jin asks. He's been panicking a lot recently. It's not necessarily because he's scared, but mostly because he finally has something he cares about other than himself. It's nice. Such a simple way to phrase it, but it's true. It's nice.
Namjoon finishes packing, throwing the bag to Jin. He catches it. It's relatively heavy, but they packed light. Y/n, Yoongi, and Taehyung are the ones overseeing heavy-duty packing. AKA the weapons and ammo and other gadgets they'll need throughout their journey. Lord knows how long this said 'journey' will be.
"Do you have our backup stash of cash in here?" Jin asks.
"Every last cent," Namjoon replies. "If we need any quick escapes, we have it."
Jin nods, pondering their options. "Do you think the crew would be safer without us?"
The younger man looks like he just lagged in real life. "Safer without us?" he asks slowly, sounding out every syllable.
"I mean, we technically caused all this. Maybe if we left, their targets would be off their backs."
Namjoon shakes Jin off. "The others already made their choices. We made ours too. The only actions we're at fault for are our own, not even Yoongi's actions are ours. So don't even-"
"What if I want to leave," Jin interrupts.
Namjoon stalls, staring at Jin. "You want to leave?"
Jin lets his eyes show his feelings. "I don't like being on the run, but I don't want to leave my friends either. I was thinking maybe we go to another country and wipe our records clean. Dye our hair and wear glasses, hide our faces as often as possible. Live whole new lives. Become new people both physically and mentally. Get a second chance at life."
Jin stares down at the floor and dryly chuckles. "When I was a kid, I used to read dumb inspirational quotes out of magazines I'd find torn up in the trash can. I'd put the pieces back together and read all day. Read and read and read... and one of those quotes said that it's never too late to chase a dream." Jin pauses to meet Namjoon's dragon eyes. "Maybe those stupid magazines weren't bullshit after all."
"What are you suggesting?" Namjoon asks with that same curiosity he's always had.
"I told you, I want to leave the country," he replies.
"And? Become doctors, actors, mercenaries; what's the next step? Getting out of the country and cleaning our records is hard enough, but we might have the connections to do so. And if we don't, Taehyung will have the connections to help. It's what comes after. We shouldn't enter a new territory without a plan."
Jin takes a few moments to breathe. Then, he smiles. "Farming," he whispers. "I think we should be farmers..."

You pace back and forth, your hands on your head. Yoongi sighs at that. "If you want to break up with me-"
"Yoons, for the last time, I'm not going to break up with you but what the fuck?!" you ask in a hiss. You're angry, betrayed, hurt, confused. All of it. You turn to look at him. "What the fuck do we do?" you ask, hoping he has an answer. He only shakes his head in response. Great. Neither of you know what to do. This is wonderful. Amazing.
Yoongi just told you his biggest secret, and it directly involves your mafia. More specifically, a certain member of your mafia. Did you slap Yoongi for it? Yes. Do you feel bad about it? No. You can't bring yourself to break up with him, but it feels as though your loyalties are wavering between two sides.
"Yoons, this is gonna come out eventually. We can't hide this for too long," you say, but he brushes the concerns aside.
"This will change everything. Maybe it'll never come out. It hasn't come out in all the years it's been-"
"But now it's different," you interrupt, giving him pleading eyes. "I'm not saying we do it now, but we have to at some point. We can't keep this hidden." Yoongi goes quiet. "Yoons?" you ask, going over and placing a hand on his shoulder.
He lets out a breath and meets your steady, calming gaze. "What if I die?"
"Huh?"
"What if he kills me?" he mutters.
"No, no, he won't. I won't let him-"
"Yoongi! Y/n! It's time to go, we've been here too long!" Tae's voice calls out, knocking on the door. Shit. You and Yoongi lock eyes.
"Later?" he asks.
"Later." Without any chance to think, the two of you grab your bags and leave the room.
Yoongi helps you carry yours like the gentleman he is, Taehyung guiding you down the hall. When you make it to the main lobby of the hideout, everyone's already there and waiting. To your surprise, Ariel comes over to you.
"Do you know where we're going yet?" Ariel asks.
"I have a friend a few hours from here. It's easier to walk than to drive," Tae says.
"Easier to walk?" you ask. "How would it be easier to walk when it's several hours away?"
"Were you in public with your car?" You nod. "Then that's another way they're gonna track you, through your plate. It's best to walk there so we know no one's following us. I brought maps so we can find the place easily enough. The quicker we leave, the more likely we leave without anyone seeing us," Tae explains.
"This keeps getting more and more complicated, huh?" you say.
Tae hums. "Travel lightly. If you have anything unnecessary, drop it. This friend of mine is one of the most covert friends I have. He has many names, and more importantly for us, many hideouts that aren't on any maps. The only map they're on is the map inside his head. And what's even better, he owes me a favor."
"Doesn't the entire Underworld owe you a favor?" Yoongi asks.
Tae almost smiles. "Exactly. I'm hoping my connections can bring us to a nice safehouse that we can lay low in while deciding our next move. I mean really, we can't just hide for the rest of our lives, right?" Everyone nods. You can't, not with a kid. She's already grown up in walls. Trapped in one place. You wouldn't be able to forgive yourself if she grew up surrounded by more depressed adults who fucked up badly, and she gets to see the consequences of it. That's not you. It never will be.
Tae goes over to the others to help them pack, you kneeling in front of Ariel. "Go help Namjoon and Jin okay? They're in the corner." She agrees, bidding her farewells before joining the much older men. You stand and turn to Yoongi. He approaches and seems hesitant to touch you. You, on the other hand, move closer and wrap an arm around his waist.
"Yoons, I'm not breaking up with you. I'm pissed as hell, sure, but there's nothing you can do about it now. I'm not going to hold it against you for no reason. It's not me you should be apologizing to anyway."
Yoongi somberly nods. "I know, but... forget it, we need to go."
You agree, but you hold him in place. He stares at you expectantly. Before you can second guess yourself, you peck his lips. "We'll get through this. Together." His eyes show his awe as you slip your hand into his.
He gummy smiles. "Together."
