"So you like Yoongi, huh?"
"Hoseok, please not now," you say, gazing over the serenity of the greenhouse. Normally you're here on Wednesday's, but today's Tuesday. You'll still go tomorrow to meet Yoongi; however, you needed to wrap your head around everything right now. And the greenhouse is the best place for that.
"We have advancements from other mafias happening every day, and you're more worried about dating Min Yoongi? Is that what's happening here?" Hoseok asks, you holding back your groans.
"Come on, give me a break here. I'm not actually dating him yet."
"Key word is yet. Why are you so stubborn? Our entire mafia is at risk because of you."
"Oh, and it wasn't when you tried to kill him?" you ask back, meeting his eyes with your furious ones. "How do you even know I like him, huh? Are you watching me, is that it?"
"Oh don't play dumb: the meeting. I saw the way you were looking at each other. Even Jimin could tell. You're breaking his heart, you know."
"Him and I aren't dating anymore, I think he understands that more than you do. What's your problem?"
Hoseok runs a hand through his hair, the fury in his expression cracking your heart. "My problem is you're going to cause a damn war because of some guy."
"He's not some guy. You and I both know that. You know him better than I do."
"Exactly why I think this is a bad idea. Trust me Y/n, he's not worth it. You're putting everyone at risk because of this bullshit, are you seriously going to make the wrong decision here-"
"No!" you shout without meaning to.
He goes still while you seethe, trying to fight your tears, but it's impossible. "My whole fucking life I haven't had a choice!" you say, your hands balling into fists at your sides. "I was forced to be in this mafia because my father was a bitch who slept around with more women than I can count. I was a result of that, and unlike my brother, I didn't get a chance to get out. My father forced me to stay. I was his little girl, apparently. The one he wanted to lead after he was gone. I didn't want that. I told him I didn't want that, but he forced me to stay, and look what happened!"
You motion to the greenhouse. "Here I am, Hoseok. Here I fucking am. Leading a mafia since I was sixteen years old because my dad wanted the L/n bloodline to lead for as long as possible." You shake your head with a grimace residing on your lips. "And I fought against it for years. I tried to find replacements, but each time they told me it's my responsibility. Every 'choice' I've made since I was born wasn't my own. I'm so, so sorry that for once I'm making a decision strictly for me! That for once, I'm going to do something for my happiness!"
Hoseok stares in silence, his mouth agape as he processes your words. "And about my precious mafia: I don't give a fuck. They're horrible people, all of them. Me included. We're all terrible people who deserve death, Hobi. I don't care about them anymore. They murder people for a living. Let karma hit them in the face. My actions for once I want to be my own, and I'll do whatever it takes to have one point in my life where I can be the one in control. No one else."
He lets out a small breath, not answering at first. He merely gazes at you, you softly crying. "I'm not gonna apologize for wanting a life that I control," you whisper.
"I'm not asking you to," Hoseok whispers back. "I just... of all people, him? Of all the choices you could have, does it have to be this one? The one that'll get everyone killed?"
You laugh, but it's void of any humor. "Hobi, I have never had an opportunity like this before. God be damned if I'm about to let it slide now. I like him, okay? And he likes me. I'm sorry you two don't have the best history, but quite frankly, that's not my fucking problem."
Hoseok rubs his fingers on his temple, you peeking around. You go still when you spot Jimin not too far away, his mouth practically on the ground. "Ah shit," you mumble, taking a step back.
"What- oh." Hoseok steps forward and halts in front of you. "Jimin, please. Think for a moment," Hoseok says. What? Does he think Jimin's gonna hurt you for having feelings for someone else? Is that it? No, Jimin would never. Would he? Jimin saunters toward the two of you, clenching his jaw as he does so. "Jimin-"
"Move, Hobi." Hoseok ends up getting pushed aside, Jimin approaching until he's right in front of you. Within a heartbeat, he brings you into an embrace. Your eyes expand as he rubs circles into your back. Hoseok peers at you two, his lips parted, but no words fall out. "Leave us," Jimin says. When Hoseok doesn't move, Jimin almost snarls. "I think you've done more than enough for today. Leave." Hoseok narrows his eyes. Jimin does the same. "Remember who your superiors are, Mr. Jung."
Hoseok realizes he's not winning this fight and sighs, backing off. You watch from over Jimin's shoulder as he leaves, departing the greenhouse as quickly as possible. No one else is around, so it's only you and Jimin hugging in front of the plants.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," you whisper, your tears falling more. He shushes you, rocking you back and forth. Jimin knows what you're apologizing for: for his feelings. For another heartbreak he's going through right now.
"Shh, it's okay. It's all gonna be okay."
"I like him. I like him a lot, but I shouldn't. Hoseok's right."
Jimin shakes you off. "Date him, princess."
You pull back to meet his eyes with your tear-filled ones. "But... Jimin, what?"
"Jungkook told me you like him. He told me to push you on the right path." Jimin places his hand on your cheek. "And this is it. Date him. Please, be happy. If not for yourself, then for me." You stare with your eyes wide, but he only smiles. "You know I'll always support you, right?"
You slowly return his smile. "I do now. But do you trust me yet?"
He laughs, his eye smile coming out. "Not in the slightest."
"Probably a good idea."
He gives your shoulder a nudge, you doing the same to him. "Now come on, let's go take a walk, okay? Clear our heads." You agree, watching him slip away to start the stroll. You linger for longer than you should.
"Jimin?" you ask.
He stops and peeks at you from over his shoulder. "Yeah?"
"Thank you." He pauses. Then, his smile widens.
"You're welcome."
