Chapter 79: A Day Of Praise

"No one should take on Sasuke! Not with the way he is now, ya know!" Naruto warned his friends as he had his arm around Nia's waist, holding her to his chest.

They were all gathered around at a disclosed area with piles of wood around them.

"Just what do you mean?" Neji questioned with his arms folded as he leaned against the wood.

"That i'm the only one who can fight him, and that's all I can say," Naruto answered.

"Yeah? Great! Thanks! That tells us nothing about what happened with you guys out there!" Tenten complained as she stood next to Neji.

"You have to explain," Neji urged. "What happened?"

Naruto only responded, "I'll tell you everything when I can. I promise."

"There you go again; giving us the run around!" Kiba snarled. He and Akamaru were lying atop the pile of wood, looking down at everyone.

The Inuzuka narrowed his eyes on Nia.

"Oh, I know! We can all just ask Nia! I'm sure she'll give us the rundown! I mean, she's Naruto's girlfriend! There's no way he hadn't told her yet."

"What? But I-" Nia opened her mouth before Naruto interjected.

"My sweet Nia has no clue what's going on with Sasuke. I haven't told her what exactly happened back there yet. She's as in the dark about it as you all are, ya know."

"What?" Shikamaru raised an eyebrow. "You haven't even told your girlfriend? The soon-to-be mother of your children?"

Nia tensed, but Naruto tightened his hold on her.

"Nia doesn't need to be involved in all of this. She's pregnant - therefore, she shouldn't be stressing herself about anything. Leave her out of this," the blond pleaded.

"Damn it!" Kiba spat. "We're getting nowhere with this!"

Sakura focused on Naruto, her mind recalling Naruto's words just before they parted with their old Uchiha teammate.

"So Sasuke... How about it? Can you tell me what it is i'm thinking right now? Can you... read my mind? And can you... understand that if you and I fight eachother... we'll both die!?

'Naruto...' The pink haired girl thought. 'What are you hiding?'

"Well," Naruto breathed. "Just leave all this to me. Trust me, guys..."

With that, he laced Nia's fingers in his and started walking off with her.

"Come on. Let's go, sweetie," He told her gently.

"Hey, wait a minute!" Kiba yelled. "You can't just leave!"

"Naruto..." Shikamaru groaned.

"Hey! Naruto!" Neji tried to stop his friend also.

Naruto only ignored them.

"Baby..." Nia spoke, looking at her boyfriend. "Everyone's really just concerned and curious about what happened. Don't you think... you should tell them?"

Naruto kept his eyes forward.

"I will... eventually."

The couple furthered along until they were in the streets of Konoha. Eyes began to look in their direction, making Nia feel uncomfortable.

"Hey, Naruto!" A man then yelled as he wore a smile on his face. "Haven't seen you around for a while! Where you've been?"

"Oh, ya know," The blond chuckled and used his free hand to rub the back of his head. "Just around, I guess."

"It gets lonely when we don't see you," An older lady expressed as she held onto some groceries. "Your enthusiasm gives the whole village the energy to recover."

This prompted a smile on Naruto's features.

"Thank you, Naruto," Another person said.

"Bless your heart, young man," Said someone else.

Nia smiled as the villagers continued to praise her love the more they strolled through the village.

"Honeybun," She gazed at him lovingly. "Listen to what everyone's saying to and about you! They're literally acknowledging you."

"I know," Naruto couldn't stop grinning. "It's making me feel all giddy, ya know?"

"As it should. This is what you've been striving to achieve since forever. I'm so happy for you, my hero. You absolutely deserve the love."

With that, Nia made them stop and cupped his face, planting a tender kiss on his lips. She then hugged her arms around his neck and nuzzled her cheek against his.

"I just love my brave, strong, kind-hearted hero so much," She gushed.

Naruto only reddened.

"Sweetie, seriously... I don't think I can take this much praise."

"The village hero has a girlfriend, huh?" A man standing at a nearby building with his wife grinned.

"Not only that, but he's getting ready to be a father to twins," The woman said excitedly.

"Congratulations!" The two then gave a nod.

This time, Nia was blushing with Naruto.

"Thank you so much," The couple responded.

Again, they journeyed on.

"Beautiful girl you have, Naruto," Someone complimented as they passed by.

"Let's hope you two tie the knot someday, huh?" Another said.

"Lucky man you are, Naruto!" Someone then whistled.

By this time, both Naruto and Nia were flustered.

"Are you hearing everyone, sweetie?" Naruto glanced over at Nia. "They're calling you beautiful and saying i'm a lucky man."

"I know," Nia was giddy. "It feels so weird to have people acknowledge me like that out of nowhere, but... i'm sure... it's just because i'm dating... the village's hero."

"Not true. It's because you really are beautiful, ya know?"

"Oh Naruto..."

Not too far behind them, behind a block of wood, Konohamaru and his friends spied on the blond ninja.

"You guys see that?" Konohamaru had an annoyed expression. "His head's gonna swell up really big, I just know it."

"Just look at him smiling like that," Moegi commented. "Yuck!"

"This is a problem," Konohamaru came out of hiding and crossed his arms. "He thinks just cause he has a girlfriend ready to do anything for him and the love and praise from the villagers, makes him better than everyone else."

He then sighed.

"We and the mass media created a terrible monster. If we don't take Naruto down a peg or two, the whole leaf village is going to suffer."

"Mhm," Moegi agreed. "I wonder where he's headed right now..."

The third hokage's grandson replied, "Wherever it is... i'm sure that it's nowhere good. All right... Now, let's get ready to capture the moment."

The three took out some equipment like a camera, microphone, and pencil with a notepad.

Meanwhile, Naruto still walked around with a stupid grin on his face and a blush covering his cheeks.

'Hehe, this is just great!' He thought. 'Not only am I being praised by the villagers, but my sweet Nia just agreed to let me bang her and do whatever I want with her in bed after we get done with our date at Ichiraku. This has gotta be the best day of my life, ya know!'

He then stopped, clenched his hands into fists and yelled with steam pushing out of his nose, "I'VE BEEN WAITING TO SEE YOU, MY LOVE! WAIT NO LONGER!"

At that moment, Konohamaru took a pic of his rival. Naruto noticed this and glanced over his shoulder to see the three children hide behind the side of a building.

'Them again...' He had a very annoyed expression on his features. "They really think I haven't noticed them by now?!'

"Naruto, is... something wrong?" Nia questioned, her fist on her heart.

Naruto gazed and blushed at the sight of the girl's face. He then thought of Konohamaru and his gang.

Man... They better not ruin my date with my beautiful, sweet Nia.

"Let's just keep walking, gorgeous," Naruto took her hand again.

And so, the two kept strolling about as the villagers greeted the blond, and at times, Nia also. Konohamaru and his friends followed closely behind, hoping to figure out where the couple was headed.

Naruto peered over his shoulder a few times, trying to understand why the three younger teens were following him. Suddenly, he yanked Nia's hand and started running to the right.

"KYA! N-Naruto, what're you doing?!" Nia yelled, running with the genin.

"Just come on!" He yelled back.

The two would then turn a corner.

"Naruto..." The sight of a beautiful woman with long, dark brown hair and eyes made the genin screech to a halt with Nia. She was wearing a skin tight blue dress.

He gawked at her.

"You're the village's hero," Her voice was high and soft, yet seductive. "Aren't you, Naruto?"

"Huh?" He awkwardly threw his hands behind his head and chuckled. "No... i'm no hero."

Seeing this, Nia frowned and faced the attractive woman.

"He is the villager's hero, but even more so... I'm his GIRLFRIEND!" She spat.

'U-Uh oh...' Naruto's face fell and he sweated after seeing Nia's reaction.

"Hey sweetie..." He placed his hand on her shoulder. "Really... There's no need for you to get all jealo-"

"So," The woman ignored the girl and shifted her body slightly. "Where you headed now... BIG BOY?!"

Her sweet voice had changed into someone Naruto was familiar with.

"HOLD ON!" The blond became angry and pointed at the woman. "YOU'RE KONOHAMARU!"

Nia sweatdropped.

I... really just got jealous... of a freaking boy pretending to be a woman...

"I'm SO not Konohamaru!" The beautiful woman claimed in the boy's voice.

"ARGH! DARN IT!" Naruto took Nia's hand and ran off with her again.

Konohamaru, Udon, and Moegi gave chase.

"B-Baby! Why are we running?!" Nia asked loudly.

"Just keep those legs moving, sweetheart!" He then grinned confidently at her. "I've got a plan, ya know!"

He then crossed his fingers.

"Multi shadow clone jutsu!"

Dozens of clones appeared and they spread throughout the village.

"You can't get away that easy!" Konohamaru yelled, crossing his fingers as well. "Harem jutsu!"

Like Naruto, multiple clones of the woman Konohamaru had transformed to, popped into existence, each chasing after a clone of Naruto.

"Where you headed to, Naruto?" Konohamaru's clone asked as they chased Naruto's clone.

"Got any plans for today? Another questioned.

"Yes actually! And that's none of your business, ya know!" Naruto yelled.

"On your way to a hot date?!" Konohamaru wouldn't light up.

"Just leave me the hell alone already, would ya?!"

SERIOUSLY! CAN'T A MAN JUST GO ON A DATE WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! WHAT DO THESE KIDS WANT?!

Watching everything unfold from the side of the street, Shikamaru sighed heavily.

"Oh boy..." He then turned around. "The village's hero, huh?"

A grim facial expression was next worn on his face.

"However..." He breathed, before walking away, thinking about his talk with Hinata and Yamato earlier.

Meanwhile, Naruto managed to escape with Nia as the girl was out of breath, having to run as much as she did.

Naruto sweatdropped.

"Sweetie, how are you already tired?"

"I-I'm just..."

"You're out of shape, that's what," He told her.

"Baby, you gotta remember... I can't be running like that while i'm pregnant," Nia gasped for air.

"But I told you before that even when you weren't pregnant, you being fa- I mean, overweight, made you run out of breath fast."

Hearing this, tears brimmed Nia's eyelashes.

"Oh no, come here. Don't you dare," Naruto cupped her face and pressed his lips against her's before squeezing her in a hug. "Sweetie, don't start crying again."

"B-But i'm starting to feel like... you're beginning not to like me anymore because of my weight..."

"Sweetie, that's not true," Naruto reassured her. "You know I love you with all my heart. I just want you to be healthy is all."

"But it's just the little comments you make about my weight... it hurts my feelings, Naruto," A tear slid down the girl's cheek.

"I don't mean to hurt you. I'm so sorry, beautiful."

"Naruto, I just want us to stay together forever is all. I can't stand there being anything that could break us apart. Especially while we're getting ready to welcome our baby girls to the world."

"There's nothing that could tear us apart. I wouldn't do anything that would end our relationship," Naruto tightened his hold on Nia.

"Please... let's do our best to stay together. To be at eachother's side without hurting the other. I want our relationship to be different than most other relationships," Nia expressed.

"Sweetie, it is already different than other relationships. Our love is strong and true. We're madly in love with eachother, ya know."

"Yes..."

With that, Naruto held onto Nia for another minute or two before grabbing her hand.

"Now then... Since we got rid of Konohamaru and them... We can, or at least, I CAN AT LONG LAST, ENJOY MY LOVE TO THE ABSOLUTE FULLEST!"

He then took Nia's hand and sprinted toward Ichiraku.

"OLD MAN! BRING NIA AND I AN ORDER OF MISO PORK RAMEN WITH EXTRA PORK ON THE DOUBLE, YA KNOW!"

Quickly, the two made it in the small shop as Teuchi greeted them.

"NARUTOOO!" Sakura then ran into the shop with a large grin on her face. "Lady Tsunade! Lady Tsunade has waken up from her coma!"

"Oh, that's wonderful!" Nia smiled and clapped her hands together as she took a seat next to Naruto.

"Wait! So, Granny Tsunade's alright?!" Naruto questioned.

"Mhm," Sakura nodded.

"YES!" Naruto pumped his fist and smiled.

Teuchi also expressed his relief that the hokage was fine.

"To celebrate, the ramen's on me!" He offered.

"What?! For real?!" Naruto was happy to hear.

"You too, Sakura. Pull up a seat!" Teuchi said.

Nia frowned.

Sakura caught this.

"Thanks, but no!" She declined. "I wouldn't wanna ruin Naruto and Nia's obvious date and besides, I can't stay! I gotta tell everyone the good news!"

She then headed for the door and next glanced over her shoulder at the couple with a smile.

"Well, i'll see you later, guys! Bye!"

Naruto grinned and waved back before turning forward.

"Great! With that load off my mind, i'm hungrier than ever!" He next pumped his fists. "ALL RIGHT! I AM GONNA EAT TODAY! ONE BOWL! TWO BOWLS! THREE BOWLS!"

Immediately after, Teuchi put down Naruto and Nia's ramen in front of them.

"Here you two go! Two bows of miso pork ramen with extra pork!"

"WOAH! COOL!" Naruto drooled quickly before turning to Nia and saying, "Sweetheart, are you ready for our dat-"

Poof!

Naruto had suddenly disappeared.

"KYA! BABY!" Nia panicked when he vanished.

"H-He just disappeared!" Teuchi was shaken also.

Elsewhere, Naruto had appeared at the land of toads at a table filled with bugs and worms in a meal. Without looking, he took a spoon and shoved a bowl of purple worms in his mouth.

Seconds later, his eyes popped open.

"Wow!" Pa, the green toad, commented as he stood next to Ma. "It must be tasty! He just dunk right in!"

"Aww! You make me so happy with how much you love my cooking!" Ma smiled.

Naruto's face contorted in disgust. His mouth was full of the worms he had yet to swallow. He dropped his spoon.

"BWAHHHHHH!" He then vomited.

The blond next fell to his back.

"W-What am I doing... here again?! I was supposed to be on a date with my girlfriend, ya know?!"

"I did a reverse summoning on ya," Pa answered. "The divine elder will tell you your future, Naruto boy."

"Divine?" Naruto sat back up.

This divine toad better have a damn good reason for interrupting my date with my sweet Nia...
