Ch 64
Sweet moments...
Alastor's POV
My hand covered my mouth as I sat in my chair, staring at the piece of paper between my fingers.
As soon as Aria fell asleep last night, I put her to bed.
And I've been down here...sitting in this chair ever since. I was sitting here when she left earlier to go retrieve her medicine...and I'll still be sitting here when she returns.
My smile had long fallen, a distressed crease in my brow as I read this piece of paper over and over again.
The page I tore from that silly supernatural book...
Silly...
It has to be a coincidence...nothing more. An iron deficiency is a common thing for females to have...I should know.
I researched it for hours after she fell asleep.
Yet the longer I'm left alone with my thoughts, the heavier this weighs on my heart. This can't be true...
It has to be a coincidence...
Suddenly the front door opened, and I jumped before shoving the paper back into my coat pocket and then snapping to make my coat disappear.
"I'm home!" She chirped, and then the door shut. Her soft footsteps approached the living room and she rounded the corner with a little smile.
I had restored mine, and I was looking her direction as she walked towards me.
She held up a small pharmacy bag, "I brought drugs!" She exclaimed and then promptly plopped herself into my lap.
Immediately some of my tension dispersed, and I buried my nose into her neck.
"How was your trip, honey?" I mumbled against her skin, and she sighed.
"Well, it took the damn pharmacy twelve years to actually give me the medicine, but other than that it was alright. You should be glad you stayed home, it was boring," she said, and I chuckled.
"Not as boring as sitting here without you, peu d'amour," I said back, and pulled away from her neck to look at her.
She looked paler than normal, and her cheeks were slightly rosy. She also seemed just slightly winded.
"It's like I'm just weaker than usual..."
Her words echoed through my head and I hugged her a bit tighter. The worry was like a snake, winding around my heart and slowly constricting.
"You look a little rosy..." I mumbled, observing her redness. She took a deep breath and patted her cheeks cutely.
"Yea...it's a bit cold out, it's only 50," she said and I hummed.
"Well, sweetheart, why didn't you wear something warmer?" I chastised softly. She was only wearing a T shirt and jeans.
She rolled her eyes, "sorry mom," she said and then giggled.
After she was done laughing at her own joke, she sighed. Her body laid against me and she wrapped one arm around my neck.
With her other hand she started mindlessly toying with my hand.
"I need to put up my Christmas decorations..." she murmured, and without missing a beat I waved my hand.
Several miscellaneous Christmas decorations went up around the room, and near the corner where I usually put the tree when I was alive, a tree appeared. It was fully decorated, and glittered softly.
Aria gasped and shifted in my lap.
"Sometimes I forget you're a magic ghost," she said and I growled playfully and pressed my lips against her neck.
"You know I'm not a damn ghost," I said and she giggled and tried to push me away from her.
I wasn't having it, and locked my lips onto her skin. That got her attention, and she stopped her struggling. Instead she moved her head slightly to the side and sighed.
I took my time, kissing her gently along her neck and over her shoulder.
After a minute of those soft kisses, I got bored and wanted to play with her. I opened my mouth and a growl rolled from my chest as I pretended I was going to bite her.
She tensed against me, and I chuckled before licking her and then kissing the same spot.
"Would it hurt if you bit me...?" She asked suddenly, and her question caught me off guard.
I nodded, resting my chin over her shoulder.
"Probably, dear. My teeth are sharp, and your neck is a very fragile area," I said and she hummed.
"Do you...want to bite me...?" She pressed further and I froze.
"Honey I was only kidding, don't worry yourself about it," I said, and she shrugged.
"Just asking..." she said softly and I sighed.
There was a moment of silence and she just kept tracing her fingers over my knuckles. My eyes fell to our hands and I watched her movements.
"Yes, I do," I said, still watching her movements, "but that is just a desire that comes with being a demon cannibal...I have enough self control to know I shouldn't try to do that to you..."
She shifted slightly in my lap and looked up at me, "why? Are you scared?" She asked. Her eyes were big and curious, and the light from the Christmas tree gave her face a soft glow.
I thought for a moment. My fingers brushed up her waist and after pondering her question, I nodded.
"Yes...I suppose I am a bit scared," I mumbled, then hugged her around her middle, "I wouldn't want to accidentally..." my words fell off, but she understood.
Then she shifted in my lap, sitting to where she was facing me instead of facing outward.
She moved her hair to the side and smiled at me, "if you want to, go ahead. I trust you, and plus you can heal me, so it's fine," she said, and there was a little blush on her face.
"Dear, you got diagnosed with an iron deficiency less than 24 hours ago, and you're asking me to bite you?" I said and tilted my eyebrow at her.
She rolled her eyes, "you're not a fucking vampire, Alastor," she said and then nudged my shoulder, "c'mon, I'm offering," she tempted and I glanced at her neck.
Smooth skin...the remnants of hickeys left over from the many times we share intimacy in a week...my mouth watered slightly and I swallowed hard, looking away.
"Don't tempt me, sweetheart...I don't want to hurt you," I said quietly, but she chuckled softly. Then she leaned forward and pressed our chests together before lacing her fingers through my hair onto the back of my head.
She forced me forward, and my lips fell against her neck. My eyes widened and I held onto her waist tightly, minding my claws.
"Go ahead, I'm curious," she said and then removed her hand from my hair and let it fall onto my shoulder. I took a deep breath, letting my eyes close.
She does smell good...
I could mark my territory...a permanent reminder that she—
Doesn't... belong to me...she doesn't. She's not mine...
But oh, I want to pretend she is...I want to sink my teeth into her skin and hear her whine my name.
I shivered at that thought. Finally, I made a decision.
"Fine..." I whispered against her skin, "but if it hurts too badly, I want you to tap my shoulder, and we're going to be done with it, ok?" I said to her and felt her nod her head.
With that I placed a gentle kiss against her neck, then a few more. I picked a spot that wouldn't be too visible, and I started sucking on her skin.
She gasped and her fingers gripped at my shirt. I smiled against her skin and pulled back slightly to view the mark I left.
I felt satisfied, and then returned to her skin.
"Ok dear...ready?" I asked her and she held me a little tighter, and nodded.
"Yep," she said and I hummed.
Then another growl reverberated through my chest as I opened my mouth and lined my teeth up with the curve of her neck. Firmly, I bit down.
Immediately her body tensed and she sucked in a sharp breath. Her fingers curled around the fabric of my shirt and she whimpered, but didn't tap me.
She exhaled the breath she took in shakily, and then took another deep breath. The moment her blood touched my tongue I had to bite back the urge to tear the flesh away from her neck.
I was taking in controlled breaths, but even doing that I couldn't stop the growls that sounded through my exhales.
My arm snaked around her body and I held her close to my body, keeping my teeth embedded in her neck.
Tear her apart.
My brows knitted together at that thought. I wasn't allowing large amounts of blood to leave her body. I was barely allowing any at all...
Eat her alive.
My eyes opened and all I could seem to focus on was her scent. That captivating scent that I've grown so used to, inviting me in to tear her to shreds.
Kill her.
A particularly rough growl left my throat and by now she had relaxed slightly. She was still taking controlled deep breaths, and when I tuned into her heartbeat it was surprisingly calm.
She really does trust me...
The moment I pulled my teeth from her neck I sighed and licked the wound to keep it from bleeding profusely.
She pulled away from me, and I was pleased to see she was smiling. I smiled back, and her eyes immediately trained onto my teeth.
She tilted her head, her smile falling into a more curious expression. She leaned forward, and I sat still, wondering what she was doing.
Then my eyes widened as her lips connected with mine, but not only that, she forced my mouth open with hers and stuck her tongue into my mouth. I let my eyes close as she did this and returned her kiss.
She pulled away, and there was a small bit of blood on her lips that she licked off. She seemed thoughtful, and I watched her in curious anticipation.
"Interesting..." she mumbled, and then smiled again.
Looking at her in this moment, she has never looked so beautiful...
So, once again I disregarded the warning tucked away in my coat pocket.
Just to have more moments like this...
More moments with her.
