HR 60: Darkest Hour
"You know what's the worst part of being good Sanskar. You always act like a magnet to evil. You always have to suffer for your kindness. That doesn't mean you stop being good and kind. This you taught me Sanskar. And I am thankful that you are the person I ever loved. The time you will be reading this I won't be around you. And trust me this is never what I wanted in my life. To go away from you. Because you make me feel the goodness within me. You made me realize that though it costs everything we should always stand for what is right. And I am the cost you have to pay to stand on your stance and trust me I am happy to be one"
When Sanskar read the letter he could literally hear her voice.
"And it's you who told me once that evil May survive for a long time but it is not eternal. It will have an end. Just that we have to be patient till it happens. And I trust you. You will be stoical till you see the end of it. And I know you will be the one to conclude it. And I am just fueling for your passion. Your goal. To protect your family. I love you… I have always loved you"
A tear tripped his eye and he sat there for a long time without understanding whether he was in a reality or a nightmare.
"Ahhhhh" he cried looking up with all his might and his throat was about to tear into shards.
Why life has to be so mean to him. Why?
He was all alone till now. A loner who was happy to be one. But then he met her. The one who made him feel he needs love, he started to build his life around that need and when he was so sure he had never wanted anything in his life other than that; he lost it.

"No.... " he breathed sharply. "You are not gonna leave me. You are not" he held Ragini lifting her up.
Her face was brimmed with tears. She looked at him painfully.
Only for him she wanted to live for some more time. Just some more time.
"Ragini... " Adarsh who was shocked moved to her.
"Didn't I tell you I won't let anything happen to him" she smiled looking at Adarsh.
"You didn't say you are going to jump in between. Why did you do that?" he asked worried.
"Because I love him. I have always loved him" she said turning to look at her husband who was weeping uncontrollably.
"Why did you do this bhai?" Sanskar asked hugging Ragini.
"Why? " he cried. Adarsh flinched in his place.
"We were threatened" he spoke softly.
"I took Ragini to Kavya's home. When she didn't come for a long time I went in and then I saw them tying her with ropes so I tried to save her. But someone covered me from back and when I was conscious again I was here" Adarsh spoke.
"Some people walked in and showed us the video of our mansion and the bomb implanted and threatened to kill the whole family if I don't stab you when you come here to save Ragini" Adarsh looked at Ragini.
"I had no option. Ragini told me to agree to it and I did. But.... " he stopped
"But I didn't knew she will be the one who will come in between" Adarsh closed his eyes.
"Didn't you see their faces?" Sanskar asked and Ragini took a deep breath.
"She needs to be taken to the hospital soon" Adarsh worried. Sanskar checked his phone for signal. But it was dead.
"Damn" he cursed. He lifted Ragini and walked out of the bungalow. Placing her in the back seat he ignited the engine. But his tyre was locked in the mud. He tried to move the car but could not.
Leaving the car he carried Ragini in his arms running towards the high way and Adarsh followed him.
Her eyes were closed and she was hiccuping out of pain. Sanskar looked at her and felt helpless.
As soon as he reached the high way he placed her down and Adarsh sat beside her trying to keep her conscious.
Sanskar called the ambulance and sat beside Ragini waiting for it.
"S.... Sanskar" she called him. "Shhh…." he silenced Her. "We'll be okay alright. I'm not gonna let anything happen to you just trust me and stay awake for my sake" he requested her.
"Home…." she finally formed the word she wanted to say. It just flashed Sanskar that Laksh was all alone and trying to figure out the problem. If he was successful or not.
He dialed his brother's number and the ring went on and made him more anxious.
"Laksh…. Oh god…" he sighed. "Did you figured out the problem?" asked Sanskar. "I have searched everything here bro but there is no traces of anything" he spoke worried.
"Go to Adi Bhai's car. Search it properly" Sanskar told him as informed by Adarsh. "Adi bhai's car?" Laksh wasn't sure if he heard it right.
"Just do it" Sanskar checked his watch for time. The ambulance arrived and Laksh narrowed his eyes hearing it.
"Bro…ambulance? What happened?" he asked.
"Laksh for god sake you don't have time" he begged his brother. "I will do it right now" Laksh finally understood the seriousness of the situation and rushed towards the car.
He opened the car and checked for the bomb. There it was in the back seat beeping with every second increasing his heart beat.
He gulped in and walked to the driver seat thinking to drive the car away from the mansion.
As soon as he ignited the engine there was a cold metal pressing the side of his skull. He looked at his right.
"What the hell do you think you are doing?" he asked the person who was smirking in response.
"Long time… cold revenge…." the voice replied.

Sanskar sat outside the operation theatre bending his head.
Every time some one walked out his heart beat reached a peak.
"What is the one thing you want to undo of your past?" Ragini asked the question from the charades game.
"Um... Let me think... " Sanskar placed his finger under his chin thinking.
"Meeting you" he smirked. Ragini opened her mouth wide and glared him shocked.
"Oh really?" asked Ragini throwing a cushion at him which he dodged laughing.
"So I am the biggest mistake of your life" She crossed her arms and sat facing the other side.
Sanskar crawled to her and sat beside. She twisted her lips.
"Undoubtedly" he pointed.
"How mean?" she spoke annoyed.
"That I am" he shrugged his shoulders.
"Fine. I don't even care. I am the biggest mistake of your life right then let me just go away from you" she got up but he pulled her back holding her wrist. She sat again annoyed.
"I wish I would have met you in normal conditions like interviewing you or in Laksh marriage how usually the love stories start" he moved her face to look into her eyes.
"And still I would have been your biggest mistake" she fake smiled.
"That you will always be" he smirked.
"Doesn't make any difference if we had met in any normal way" she pursed Her lips in thin line.
He kissed her lips longingly.
"Not gonna cool down so easily" she pushed him and he fell back.
But then sat straight.
"People forget the good things but they never forget their mistakes. So I want you to be something which I can never forget" he touched her forehead with his.
"Can I just confess that my husband can make anyone feel best even when he addresses them with his worst namings" she smirked.
"Or how about something better" he kissed her this time passionately.

Sanskar closed his eyes as the memories hurt him more than he ever had felt.
Finally the red light of the room went off and he looked at the door waiting, ready to hear what the fate had stored for him.
