Mary's pov

"You finally learnt how to ride horses" Clarke says as we were both riding each horse Titus has given us to get to Arkadia

"Octavia taught me" I says "you didn't let me teach you" she says "I don't know, Octavia thinks I am born to be a warrior or something like that" I shrugs

"You are already a warrior" she says "the thing is, I don't really care about being a warrior. Everything I do is for the people I love, I don't mean to fight but when I need to fight for my people, I just do it" I says

"That's being a warrior. A warrior is not someone who fights because they like it, every warrior has a reason to fight" she explains

"What's your reason to fight?" I asks "I think all of us shares the same on, the need to keep our people safe" she says

"It can be exhausting, isn't it?" She adds "Octavia told me that no matter how tired I am, I should keep fighting. That is what makes a warrior a good one" I says

"You look up to her" she says "I look up to all of my friends" I says "please, you don't look up to me or Bellamy or Monty" she says

"I mean, I just thinks she's a good fighter, she knows a lot about the ground and I think it's interesting, that's all" I says

"you'll see her soon, you know" she says "yeah, if Pike won't kill me instantly" I says

"He can't kill you just like that, maybe he'd arrest you. But he won't kill you that easily, I won't let him" she says

"You weren't in Arkadia in a long time, Clarke" I shakes my head "maybe I wasn't, but I know you. You're a fighter. It's not your time yet" she says

"What if it is?" I asks "it's not. I lost Lexa, I can't lose you too, I'll do a better job with keeping you alive" she says "you know it's not your fault right?" I asks before she glazes at something behind me, she stops her horse

"What is it?" I asks as I stops as well. We sees a red smoke coming out the commander's room "a new commander has risen" she says

"Ontari? But she don't have the flame" I says "it's Ontari, we don't know what she's capable of" Clarke says "whatever we're doing, we need to do that quick" I says

Murphy's pov

"How long is this gonna be necessary?" I refers to the chains round my neck. "Roan said not let you go of my sight until he got back" Ontari says

"We're on the 50th floor, where am I gonna go?" I says as she was walking in circles "look, I am just saying, a real commander wouldn't be afraid-"

"I am a real commander" Ontari cuts me off before we hears knocks, I pray to god it's not Roan, and that he hasn't found Mary and Clarke

Even if Roan wouldn't kill Mary as Ontari ordered him to, I have no idea what is expected to her, or what is expected to me.

But I know what happens when you fall for the wrong Grounder's hands, and it's no fun. I wouldn't want them to hurt her, and Ontari doesn't seem merciful

"You gonna answer it?" I asks Ontari that was staying quiet, standing still "so, the king doesn't think you can handle it, huh? I though you were in charge" I says

"I am" she raises her voice "whatever you say" I says after we hears another knocks "enter" Ontari says

"What is it, ambassador?" Ontari says as some guy walks in with to two guards. I didn't understand complete what they were saying, but I understands that the ambassador is suspicious of Ontari because she was reaching to her sword

"She'll be there soon" I quickly says so she won't stab the guy "why are you in chains?" He asks "that's a good question" I looks at Ontari

"Where is Master Titus?" He asks "Titus left, to go find the next class of initiates" I says "the Flame keeper has scouts for that" he says

"Yes, well. The last crop of the scouts brought back kinda sucked, didn't they?" I says. The ambassador shares a look with Ontari before he leaves with the guards and closes the door

"It's better to lie your way out of problem than kill. I saw your hand go for your sword" I says "so?" Ontari says

"So you can't just go around killing your ambassadors. What did he want you to do?" I asks "recite the lineage. The names of all past commanders. It marks the starts of the new commander's reign" Ontari says

"And how are you going to do that?" I asks but she stays quite again "look, maybe I can help you" I says "how?" She asks "I think much better without a collar" I says

I walks with Ontari to the Flame keeper's room after she unchains me "seek higher things" I reads

"Did you find it?" Ontari asks "no, just a corporate motto. First commander went into space to seek higher things. Get it?" I slightly chuckles but she was sitting down with her serious scary face

"You know what? Never mind" I says "you said it would be here" she stands up "maybe I was wrong, okay? I am guessing that to know the names of the dead commanders you actually have to be one. You gotta get the flame" I says

"You were guessing? The ambassadors are expecting me. I'll have to kill them all" Ontari says "seems a bit excessive" I says before she steps closer to me

"I deserve this throne" she reaches to her sword "I was raised for it. Snatched from my parents by the Queen of Azgeda. I suffered her cruelty. I won the conclave. The ambassadors don't get to judge me, and neither do you!" She pushes me

"Okay, you're right. You're right. We don't. No one does and we can use that" I says "what are you talking about?" She asks

"Roan, he's got you doing n everything wrong. You're hiding" I says "I am not hiding. I am waiting for him to return the flame" she says

"And what if he doesn't? The longer we wait, the harder it's gonna be convince the ambassadors that you're the real thing" I says

"We?" She says "I can help you sell this lie. Because like it or not, Ontari. A fake commander needs a fake Flame keeper" I says

"What comes you out of it?" She asks "don't hurt Mary. If Roan finds her let her go" I says "her again?" She asks "just don't hurt her, ever. Wipe Skaikru expect from her and I" I says

"That's all? You get a favour from the commander and that's what you ask?" She asks "its keeping me and her alive, that's all that matters to me" I says

"Commander" I said as I enters the Flame keeper's room, she was practicing her speech to the ambassadors

"Who dares interrupt my prayers?" She says "ambassador Uzac demands that he see you" I says as I walks in with him and some copies of guards

"Yes, but in the throne room, not here. This this sacred space, this was his idea. I beg your pardon, Ontari" Uzac says

"Say my name again" Ontari turns around and faces him "Heda" he says "let me guess. You'd like to hear the lineage" Ontari walks towards him "yes" Uzac says "no" Ontari says "your reign can not begin until-"

"My reign as already begun. I am the last Natblida heir to Bekka Pramheda. I triumphed in the conclave, and you are my subject" Ontari says the speech I taught her

"We will be your subjects, after you recite the lineage" Uzac says "is my Flame keeper correct? Did you demand to see me?" Ontari says

"If you think you can intimidate-" he says before Ontari sticks his fingers in his eyes, I quickly looks away

"Now you see me" Ontari says "we talked about restraint" I says "you told me not to kill him" Ontari says "well, next time I'll be more specific" I says

"I am tired and hungry. No more meetings" Ontari says as she walks walking in a hall, the ambassadors bows her while she walks passes them

"Bring me wine" she adds as she enters her room, I follows her along with guards "oh, no, no, no. Easy there, big fella" I sees one of the guards grabbing the chain

"It's not necessary, right?" I looks at Ontari "put it on him" Ontari says "are you..." I shakes my head before the guard grabs me, putting the chain on my neck

"Leave us. Let me know the moment king Roan returns" Ontari tells the guard, he bows before he walks away

"You want to explain this?" I refers to the chain "I don't trust you" Ontari says "hmm. Well, I gotta say. I am a little hurt by that" I says before she takes off her shirt

"How 'bout now?" She says. My gaze is on the room, trying to escape contact with Ontari. I can't look at another girl like that when I feel what I feel for Mary, but I also had to satisfy her, to tell her whatever the fuck she wants, I hoped it'll be over once I'd just tell her what she wants to hear

"now I am a little less hurt" I end up saying. She was about to unbutton her pants "wait" I says, but she was already taking off her pants

"There's... you know. Mary. Sorry" I says "is she a commander too?" She says "no" I simply says before she reaches for the chain

"Would she kill you if you ever lied to her?" She spills the chain harshly making me grunts "did anything to break her trust or upset her in even the slightest way?" She pulls the chain again as she bits her lisp

"You said you're doing this for her, then you'd do this for her" she grabs the chain once more. She wants me to cheat on Mary to keep her alive? That sounds insane. And sick.

"Oh, the things I do to survive" I says. I don't like Ontari, not at all. After this, I can say I hate that woman, even despises her.

I told Mary that I am all hers, and now I am doing this. I mean I had to do it, to survive. For her to survive, but when I say this I think that I sound as crazy as Ontari. But if I won't survive and help Ontari Mary won't as well.

I mean, I am sure she could be alright on her own, but I want to be the one who makes sure she's alright. I just want Ontari or the grounders is not a threat to her

I will do it just to make Mary a little bit more safe. That's all I ever wanted. I hope she'd forgive me though, I hope she'd understand.

But now I am at a point that Ontari can do whatever she wants to me because I will do it for Mary, and she knows it.

I guess that's what you get for making a deal with the devil. I just hope Mary and Clarke will find Luna soon.

Mary's pov

"Holy shit" I flinches as I sees Jasper breaking the gate to Arkadia with a truck, he was about to hit me and Clarke, we were standing in front of the gate but he noticed us in time and stopped

"Mary? Clarke?" He says "Jasper?" Me and Clarke says together as we rushed to the truck "what the fuck?" I says

"Jasper, what is going on?" Clarke asks "get in!" He opens the door to the truck "no, you don't understand, we need to see Lincoln" Clarke says

"You don't understand, Lincoln is dead and we all will be too if you don't get in now!" Jasper says before we hears gun shots making me and Clarke quickly gets into the truck. I sits next to Jasper and Clarke goes to sit on the back

"Why are they shooting?" Clarke asks "No, no, no" Jasper says as he tries to stops the car but fails "Lincoln is dead?" I asks

"That can't be" Clarke says "Suddenly you don't understand what "dead" means?" Jasper says "I need him to take me round Luna. He's the only one who knows where-"

"Shut up! I don't care, okay?" Jasper cuts Clarke off before I notices Raven lying on the back "you really are the angel of death, aren't you?" Jasper says to Clarke "Jasper, that's enough" I says

"Clarke, in the back" I says as I looks in the side's mirror of the car, seeing a guard walking to the back of the car, Clarke kicks him as Jasper starts driving
