It was no lie and everyone knew, Y/n L/n was madly in love with Hercules Mulligan. But unfortunately, he already had a girlfriend: the beautiful Elizabeth Sanders. It didn't come to a surprise when he told Y/n he had a major crush on Beth, everyone did.

Her long, flowy hair bounced as she struts through the halls, everyone was aware of her stare, when she tosses her hair, they go perfectly still. She was Queen Bee of Liberty Academy. She's never bothered, never harassed. Everyone wanted to be her.

Alexander and his girlfriend Eliza knew.

Angelica and Thomas knew.

James and John knew.

Lafayette and Burr knew.

Peggy and Maria knew.

Mr. Washington and Mr. George Lewis knew.

There wasn't a single person who didn't know that Y/n is hurting... because the man she loved was with another.

It hurts.

The grip she had on the book tightens as she watches them share a kiss. Her heart sank, the food she ate pushed its way to her throat, her face paled, and her smile faltered.

Angelica saw this and slowly placed her hand on Y/n's shoulder, whispering, "It's okay... here, come with me."

Y/n refused but Angelica didn't take no for an answer. She was dragged across the halls to the bathroom.

"You look horrible, Y/n, I expect more from you! C'mon, man, you're so pretty, you can get anyone you want. Why waste your time mourning the fact he doesn't like you that way?"

"Angelica, you wouldn't understand-"

"Yes, I would. Y/n. I really like Alexander but Eliza liked him first. I gave him up for her, I know what it's like to watch them kiss and hang out without me."

"At least he flirts with you, Herc is so dense..."

Angelica sighs, touching Y/n's eyeshadow up and hiding the purple bags under eyes behind concealer. She was sick of watching her friend in this state.

"I'm done!" Angie snaps.

"W-what!?"

"I'm going to talk to Hercules and Beth!"

"N-no, no, no, no, no! I'm begging you, Angel, please don't tell him!"

"I have to!"

"No, you'll ruin everything. He'll learn in time, I wanna be the one who tells him! It's not your secret to tell! It's mine!"

Angie looked into her friend's pleading eyes and her heart melted. "Okay. But if you don't tell him by 7, I'm telling him for you."

"Fine," Y/n huffs.

"Deal?"

"Deal."

Y/n was anxious for the rest of the day. She dropped hints for Hercules but he was too busy/distracted watching Beth.

"Erm So... I was thinking we could go out? Ya know, just-"

"Can I bring Beth?" Hercules suddenly interrupts, taking Y/n's hands in his. She was flustered and just nodded, her face as red as blood. He kissed her forehead and galloped away to tell Beth. "Thanks, love you!"

"-the two of us..."

She wasn't completely okay with it but she just got a kiss on the forehead, that felt like winning an award.

Maybe he's getting it?

Alexander slides to her, "Trouble in paradise, eh?"

"We're not together, Lex."

"You might be! C'mon, just tell him! When will you do it?"

"Why are you being so annoying!?" She whines, looking into his undeniably gorgeous eyes.

"Listen, kid," He placed his hands on her shoulders, "I have a lot of money on the 2 of you ending up together. Don't fail me or Angelica, Eliza, Peggy, Aaron, and I will have to pay John, Laf, Jeffershit, and Madison $30."

"Damn, it's nice to know who doesn't believe in me," I glance at Laf and John who quickly apologize.

"Don't fail us, Y/n. We're counting on you. I'm counting on you!"

"Fight me."

"That's 30$ I might lose!"

"That's all I'm worth, eh?"

"Be quiet and go get 'im!"

"Hey!" Y/n chased after Hercules as the bell rang, signaling the end of school.

He turns and looks down at her, grinning toothily.

"Wussup, N/n?"

"I-I wanted to tell you something... can we talk? In private?"

Hercules grew tense. What could she want? It seemed serious, he was terrified it wasn't something good. He followed her to the back of the school.

"Herc..."

"Yeah?"

His eyes were so gentle and kind and with a single glance at them, she was reassured.

"Look, we've been friends awhile and I... I know you're in a relationship and all and it may not be mutual but that's okay! I just need to get it off my chest..."

"Just spit it out, N/n. You know you can tell me anything."

"Not this..."

after a long moment of silence, she speaks, "Hercules, I really-"

"BABE!" Beth calls, tackling him with a hug.

"B-Beth? What's up?"

"The sky, idiot!" She seemed overjoyed to see him, her arms were wrapped around his neck and she wore a giant smile.

"Me and Y/n were talking, mind giving us a moment?" He said.

"Aw, come on! I've been waiting a long time, you take forever. Let's go!"

"Sorry, N/n..." Herc looks down at her.

Y/n's fists clench and she grits her teeth, her blood boiling to a thousand digress. "It's fine."

"Talk to ya later?"

"Yeah."

Beth glares at her out of the corner of her eye and sloppily kisses Hercules.

She did it to annoy Y/n. Right in front of her.

She had enough.

She stormed off, leaving Hercules very confused.

They broke apart and Hercules chased after her but was stopped by Beth. Soon enough, she disappeared into the crowd.

There was a loud knock on Y/n's front door. She groans and wipes her tears away with the sleeve of her shirt.

It's the next day and she refused to go out with her friends, she needed some time to think.

She opens the door and finds Hercules, smiling warmly down at her.

"H-Herc?"

"I broke up with her."

"I'm sorry?"

"I broke up with Beth."

Realization slapped her across the face.

She made a deal with Angelica.

Angelica told him, didn't she?

How could she have forgotten!?

"Hercules, I'm sorry, I-"

"I now realize something I haven't realized in a long time. It's you I love, not Beth, Y/n. You've always been there for me, you've always listened to my problem and comforted me. We don't hide anything from each other and we're always together. I love you. Would you give me the honor of being my girlfriend?"

"Wha-"

She was overwhelmed. Just a second ago, she was chilling on her couch, watching The Flash on Netflix and next thing she knew, her crush was outside her door confessing his love for her.

"Of course!"

"THAT'S $30! EAT THAT, SUCKERS!"
