6 - It's All Over

"Iseul was everything that I had asked for at the beginning, when we first started dating,"

Jeongin and Yeseul were seated on her bed, the female clutching her fox plushie tightly as the boy fumbled with the drawstrings of his hoodie. The atmosphere was relaxed, slightly less tense from the heated argument of before.

"He was very sweet, and he treated me so well that for the first time," Yeseul scoffed, sadly. "For the first time, I thought life was going to go well,"

Jeongin listened carefully, observing her mannerisms. Like the fact that she needed the fox toy whenever she was bustling around the house, or how she fiddled with the rings on her fingers, or how she constantly winded strands of her hair around as an act of stress relief.

"A few months after I got into SNU, he started acting differently," She frowned. "He was harsher and he would be quite mean and rough when he came to my apartment, and I didn't really understand why,"

"But, I didn't really question it and told myself that he was just going through a rough time and that I shouldn't do anything to make it worse. I should've questioned it,"

Jeongin paused. "Why should you worry about making him feel awful? You shouldn't have to walk on eggshells around him,"

The corners of Yeseul's mouth twitched into a miserable smile. "I know, but I never thought about how toxic our relationship really was,"

"At first, I also thought it was due to the fact that his Father was fiercely pushing him to handle their business, but then I discovered that it wasn't the case. He-He was jealous,"

A pregnant pause enveloped the room.

"Why?"

"Because I'd gotten into SNU," Yeseul sighed. "And he hadn't. Even though I told him multiple times that studying business at Hankuk University was exceptional, he didn't believe me,"

It felt as though the bed too was swallowing her in as the Jeon girl gripped her fox plushie tightly, to keep her from bursting into tears.

Her heart felt empty, used almost by the boy she had thought she'd loved.

But love was no easy thing to tackle.

"I just," Yeseul whispered with a weak voice. "I just didn't think it would end like this, y'know?"

The Yang boy's onyx, fox-like eyes fell upon his human, his sweet, pretty human who looked as though she couldn't harm a fly. Softening his gaze, he opened his arms once more and pulled her into an embrace, gently stroking her soft hair.

"It's over," He mumbled, grateful for the fact that she couldn't see his pink cheeks. "It's over and you don't have to worry about him anymore, not unless he wants to deal with me and Minho hyung,"

Despite the forlorn expression on her face, the girl managed to smile, weakly. "You'd be quite the pair, huh?"

"That we would be,"

...

"So, let me get this straight. You and Iseul had a whole wrestling match until Yeseul, sweet Yeseul who probably couldn't hurt a fly, slapped him?"

"Correct,"

Minho stared at the younger boy. "I don't believe you,"

"He's right, oppa," Yeseul smiled softly as she placed a number of items on the counter. "I did slap him, and broke up with him,"

"Finally," The Lee boy muttered as he scanned the products. "Cha Iseul was never good for you, besides," He winked. "You can start thinking about other boys, now,"

As heat crawled up the Jeon girl's face, besides her, Yang Jeongin scowled as a funny feeling swirled through his stomach.
