Due to the many requests I am making this chapter. I was supposed to make it like a month ago but I forgot so oops lmfao.

What I use:

Photoshop

I stopped using that for a while, but I have the app. When I am not using Photoshop, I am using the alternative, Photopea.

Photopea:

You can search this up on google and use it as an alternative for Photoshop. It has technically everything Photoshop has, excluding maybe a couple of things. I use photopea or Photoshop for fantasy and manipulative covers because the tools are easier to use and make the cover the way I like it.

Canva:

It is a website where you can make book covers, bookmarks, youtube headers, youtube intros, post cards and so so so much more. It has so many options for you to make, you probably won't know what to make. Canva is good for simple and aesthetic covers ONLY if you actually know how to make them look good. A good cover depends on the picture, how clear it is, if the colours fit the cover, the font of the title, the pretty lines to add beauty to the cover and many small things.

 How I use canva:

Search up book covers in the search bar and choose a template. The template doesn't actually really matter. I like to click a random one, remove everything and start on a blank canvas.

If you already have your pictures saved on your computer, use those. If not, there is a place on canva where you can search up pictures if you have to. I advice you to have your pictures saved from google, pixaby, picsart, deviantart or where ever you prefer. Make sure these pictures are in a portrait way. Example: like the one below.

The picture should NOT look like this:

Meaning, the height should be longer.

Next, upload your picture into canva:

And drag it onto the template:

Now since we will be making a easy and aesthetic cover, we will choose a cursive or pretty font. Canva has recently uploaded new fonts but those fonts won't match the cover. Just because you like the font doesn't mean it will suit the cover.

Scroll up and down until you find a font that you like! And edit it onto your cover.

Remember:

If the title is cursive and pretty, the name of the author will be simple. You cannot make both look like the same :)

So far the cover now looks like this:

Now we add the lines and pretty stuff because clearly, this looks way to plain.

Click elements and find 'lines.'

Click a pretty line and use it on the cover as so:

You can play around with canva, discover new things or whatever you want but this is a simple way of making your cover using canva. 

The NEXT chapter will be about how to make a cover using Photopea. There you can download your own fonts and change the picture you are using to the way you like it and many other different things. 

And that, I shall explain later. Oh and also please remind me like someone message me and remind me to upload that chapter just in case I forget.
